Trump aide says Colorado fire bomb attack suspect Mohamed Sabry Soliman an ‘illegal alien'
White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller said that the suspect who attacked a crowd with inflammable devices at a pedestrian mall in downtown Boulder during a demonstration in support of Israeli hostages still held in Gaza 'illegally overstayed' a tourist visa.
He said that the suspect, identified as 45-year-old Mohamed Sabry Soliman, was granted a visa by the Biden administration, following which he illegally overstayed the visa and was given a work permit.
'He was granted a tourist visa by the Biden Administration, and then he illegally overstayed that visa,' Miller wrote in a post on his official X handle.
'In response, the Biden Administration gave him a work permit,' he added.

The FBI is investigating the incident as an 'act of terror'.
FBI Special Agent Mark Michalek said that six elderly people suffered serious burn injuries after Soliman allegedly threw Molotov cocktails at the ones taking part in the rally for Israeli hostages held captive by Hamas in Gaza.
The victims, who are aged between 67 to 88, are being treated in hospitals, with one being in critical condition.
'It is clear that this is a targeted act of violence and the FBI is investigating this as an act of terrorism,' Michalek said.
Who is Mohamed Sabry Soliman?
Forty-five-year-old Soliman is an Egyptian national who first arrived at the Los Angeles International Airport on August 27, 2022, on a non-immigrant visa.
Under this visa, he was authorised to stay in the United States till February 26, 2023, but he 'overstayed' and never left, according to Fox News.
He reportedly also filed for asylum in 2023 and was given a work permit by the Biden administration, which expired on March 28, 2025.
Soliman allegedly used a makeshift flamethrower during the attack at the Pearl Street Mall and yelled 'Free Palestine'.
The FBI said that the suspect was also injured in the attack and taken to the hospital with 'minor injuries'.
The attack comes barely a week after a man fatally shot two Israeli embassy staffers outside a Jewish museum in Washington after he yelled 'Free Palestine'.

Dr. Johnnie Moore, a former evangelical adviser to the White House during Trump's first term in office, came as health officials said at least 27 people died and more than 150 were injured trying to reach a GHF aid site. "GHF is demonstrating that it is possible to move vast quantities of food to people who need it most — safely, efficiently, and effectively," Moore said in the foundation statement. "GHF believes that serving the people of Gaza with dignity and compassion must be the top priority." The GHF began operations one week ago under a distribution model criticized by the United Nations as the militarization of aid. The GHF says so far it has given out seven million meals from so-called secure distribution sites. It uses private U.S. security and logistics companies to get aid into Gaza. The U.N. and aid groups have refused to work with the GHF because they say it is not a neutral operation. U.N. aid chief Tom Fletcher has said it "makes aid conditional on political and military aims" and uses starvation as "a bargaining chip." The appointment of Moore could fuel U.N. concerns, given his support for the controversial proposal Trump floated in February for the U.S. to take over Gaza and develop it economically. After Trump proposed the idea, Moore posted video of Trump's remarks on X and wrote: "The USA will take full responsibility for future of Gaza, giving everyone hope & a future." UN says 'deadly attacks' around Gaza aid sites 'a war crime'
UN human rights chief Volker Turk said on Tuesday that "deadly attacks" on civilians around aid distribution sites in the Gaza Strip constituted "a war crime". Rescuers in the Palestinian territory said Israeli fire targeting civilians near an aid distribution centre in the southern city of Rafah killed 27 people on Tuesday, raising an earlier toll. It came after a similar incident on Sunday when rescuers said 31 people were killed at the same location, witnesses saying they had been on their way to collect aid. "Deadly attacks on distraught civilians trying to access the paltry amounts of food aid in Gaza are unconscionable," Mr. Turk said in a statement. "For a third day running, people were killed around an aid distribution site run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. This morning, we have received information that dozens more people were killed and injured." The U.S.-backed GHF is a recently formed group that Israel has cooperated with to implement a new aid distribution mechanism in Gaza. The United Nations does not work with the foundation because of concerns that it does not meet core humanitarian principles of neutrality, impartiality and independence. Turk called for a prompt and impartial investigation into each attack, and for those responsible to be held to account. "Attacks directed against civilians constitute a grave breach of international law, and a war crime," he said. "Palestinians have been presented the grimmest of choices: die from starvation or risk being killed while trying to access the meagre food that is being made available through Israel's militarised humanitarian assistance mechanism. Colorado terror attack suspect, family detained by ICE
Federal immigration authorities have detained the wife and five children of Mohamed Sabry Soliman, the suspect behind a recent antisemitic attack in Boulder, Colorado, according to a report by the New York a 45-year-old Egyptian national, is accused of injuring 12 people using a homemade flamethrower and Molotov cocktails. According to the officials, he had been living in the US without legal status since March 28, when his visa his arrest on Sunday, agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) took Soliman's family into custody, a Department of Homeland Security official told the New York Post. According to the court documents, Soliman told investigators he had long harbored intentions to "kill all Zionist people" but delayed acting on those plans until after his daughter graduated from high school. Soliman also admitted to learning how to construct explosive devices by watching YouTube attack occurred Sunday in Boulder, Colorado, at the popular Pearl Street Mall near the University of Colorado. Soliman targeted a pro-Israel rally organized by the group "Run for Their Lives," which was advocating for the release of Israeli hostages. During the event, authorities say Soliman shouted "Free Palestine!" and launched incendiary devices including Molotov cocktails at the crowd, many of whom were report that 16 Molotov cocktails were recovered near the scene, along with a gasoline can in Soliman's car.
