Diddy hasn't seen sun in 11 months, writes essays in ‘sensory deprivation,' lawyer slams ‘horrible' Brooklyn jail

Sean 'Diddy' Combs was recently convicted of transporting people for prostitution under the Mann Act. But he managed to beat the more serious charges, sex trafficking and racketeering, due to lack of evidence. According to his lawyer Marc Agnifilo, the verdict, after a gruelling month-long trial, is still a win because Diddy dodged the worst of it. Still, his team has been fighting for bail or house arrest. Speaking to Variety, Agnifilo slammed the Brooklyn detention centre for its brutal conditions, calling it 'sensory deprivation.' The former Revolt CEO was arrested last September after his Miami and LA mansions were raided by Homeland Security under Joe Biden's administration. Diddy's been locked up in Brooklyn ever since, and Agnifilo says he hasn't seen the sun once. 'One of the horrible things about the MDC (Metropolitan Detention Centre) is not going outside ever,' the lawyer said. He's been inside nearly 11 months, no fresh air, no wind, just artificial light around the clock. 'It's sort of like sensory deprivation,' he added. 'He wants to get out and be with his family.' Also read: Donald Trump says Diddy was 'hostile' toward him; says rapper's team asked for a pardon but he likely won't grant it Agnifilo said Diddy misses his kids badly. 'He's learned a lot. His time in jail has given him the ability to reflect and consider his life and look at all the blessings he's been given, his seven children, the fact that he's still close with the mothers of his children, and the life he's been given.' He revealed they speak daily. Diddy keeps to himself, doesn't socialise much with other inmates, and spends more time thinking, which the lawyer admits can take a toll. 'His view is: 'Have I lived up to the blessings I've been given?' And I think his conclusion is: 'Not in every aspect of my life have I lived up to those blessings,'' Agnifilo said. Agnifilo, who's handled several high-profile cases in the US, including Luigi Mangione (accused of killing Brian Thompson, the CEO of UnitedHealthcare), said they've been putting in serious hours preparing Diddy's defence. Calling the disgraced mogul a 'smart man,' he revealed they worked together for 20 hours a day. 'Now, he doesn't have as much emphasis on the case, so he's been spending time on himself. He's been doing a lot of writing. He writes essays, some of which I think are beautiful and poignant and thoughtful.' The lawyer even claimed Diddy is trying to start a few programs for the inmates. Also read: Donald Trump risks losing more women voters if he pardons Diddy, can spark 'another Epstein-like situation' When pressed on whether they've asked Donald Trump for a pardon or even reached out, Agnifilo said he is not involved. 'There are times I think there's nothing to it, and there are times I think it's just rumour mill stuff. But I do not purport to know the president's mind. I really don't know,' he said. Trump, meanwhile, has made it clear he likely won't grant clemency, citing how Diddy turned hostile during his first term. He claimed they used to be friendly, but things went south. Still, Trump confirmed someone from Diddy's camp did reach out about a pardon. As for the case, nearly a month after the verdict and bail denial, Diddy's legal team has now filed a 62-page motion asking for the two guilty verdicts to be tossed, or pushed into a retrial.

Will Trump pardon Sean ‘Diddy' Combs? Here's why he likely won't

Donald Trump says he's still weighing whether to grant a presidential pardon to Sean 'Diddy' Combs. Trump suggested he might evaluate a pardon for Sean 'Diddy' Combs based on facts and fairness rather than public sentiment. (Reuters/AP) Diddy, who is currently jailed at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center, was recently found guilty on two out of five federal charges following a closely watched trial in early July. He was acquitted of the most serious accusations, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. Still, the verdict landed him behind bars, despite multiple requests for bail. Following the verdict, Trump told Newsmax, 'He was celebrating a victory, but he seems, I guess it wasn't as good of a victory.' He called the mixed outcome 'half-innocent.' ALSO READ| Sean 'Diddy' Combs asks judge to throw out guilty verdicts or grant him a new trial Before the verdict, speculation swirled that Trump might be preparing to pardon Diddy. But now that the rapper has formally asked for presidential clemency, Trump appears reluctant. 'Probably — hmm,' he said when asked about it. 'You know, I was very friendly with him. I get along with him great. Seemed like a nice guy. I didn't know him well. But when I ran for office, he was very hostile.' Diddy's past words haunt him as Trump leans 'no' on pardon Interestingly, Trump once attended Diddy's famous parties, and during an episode of Celebrity Apprentice, he even vouched for the rapper when contestant Aubrey O'Day, a former member of Diddy's girl group Danity Kane, seemed hesitant to talk about him. However, Diddy publicly criticized Trump during his presidency in 2020, saying, 'White men like Trump need to be banished.'. 'It's hard, you know, like we're human beings and we don't like to have things cloud our judgment,' the POTUS told Newsmax. 'But when you know something and you were fine and then you run for office and he made some terrible statements, so I don't know… it's more difficult, makes it more difficult, I'm being honest, it makes it more difficult to do.' 'The White House will not confirm or deny pardons that may or may not happen,' a source told Mirror US.

What is Showrunner, the AI that can generate entire episodes of TV shows?

As the world is coming to terms with AI generating a few seconds of realistic videos, Amazon has just invested in a company that has a system that can generate entire 22-minute-long TV shows. The company Fable Studio has introduced a platform called Showrunner, which is capable of generating entire episodes with coherent plots, character development, and dialogue that sounds similar to any popular show. Showrunner is essentially the first streaming platform for AI-generated shows. Subscribers of the platform are able to watch AI-generated series and also create their own content. They will have complete control over dialogues, characters, and camera angles. As of now, Showrunner is limited to animation and cannot yet create live-action shots. The AI platform has been created by San Francisco-based startup Fable Studio. The Emmy-winning company's platform can write, voice, and animate episodes of its shows with generative AI. Users can create videos by simply using prompts in natural language. Reportedly, upon its initial release, users will be able to watch and create AI content. The Showrunner system uses something known as a multi-agent simulation that brings AI characters to life and lets them interact and develop relationships over time. Reportedly, users can insert themselves as South Park characters and become a part of the story. To generate a video episode, users simply need to write simple prompts that include the title and the main plotline. Reportedly, the characters generated through the platform show consistent personalities and are capable of remembering past interactions. Some reports claim that each episode takes nearly three hours of simulation time to generate. The company had conducted a closed alpha test with over 10,000 users for months before it was launched. In order to use Showrunner, users are required to sign in to the Discord group chat platform. It is reported that initially, Showrunner will be free to use; however, Fable will gradually begin charging creators about $10 to $20 per month, which will allow them credits to create about hundreds of TV scenes. Meanwhile, viewing this AI-generated content will be free, and users or anyone can share it on YouTube or other platforms. The new platform signals a shift in video generation with AI, as several other companies, such as Runway, DecartAI, Pika Labs, Odyssey, World Labs, and Google's Veo 3 and Genie 2, are paving the way for newer and more advanced video creations. Amazon's investment in Fable comes at a time when there is a raging debate about using AI to alter the endings of films and television shows. Recently, Bollywood filmmaker Anand L. Rai expressed his displeasure with the AI-altered ending of his 2013 hit 'Raanjhanaa.' The production house has offered an AI-assisted happy ending to the original story. 'AI is the future. Everybody knows that. But then use it for the future or for the present. Don't use it to distort the past!' Rai told in a statement to The Indian Express. This type of tech signals a new wave where users will be able to create personalised entertainment experiences with simple prompts. It seems we are moving into a space where all kinds of content will be created using AI customised to their personal preferences. Users will be able to generate episodes where they are the protagonists and have storylines tailored to their interests. Also, if this technology is to make rapid strides, the entertainment industry is likely to take a massive hit.
