Aashiqui 2 is among the most loved musical romantic dramas of modern cinema. The movie received a unanimous response from the audience during its release, and each of its music tracks was a big success. Moreover, the film became a breakthrough for Arijit Singh, kick-starting his career.
In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, director Mohit Suri opened up on his first choice for the songs in Aashiqui 2 and how he ended up finding Arijit's voice. He said, "When I was making Aashiqui 2, I recorded the songs in KK's voice, and I had done many songs with him, like Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai and all. But after I recorded that voice, I realised that voice was right for Emraan (Hashmi), a generation earlier. But Aditya Roy Kapur was coming in, and I wanted to find a new guy."
The filmmaker mentioned that he auditioned numerous fresh talents and ultimately found Arijit Singh's voice. He added, "I went insane looking for someone called Arijit. I realised this is the voice required for the film. Putting in anyone already established would not cut it."
Mohit Suri replaced KK with Arijit Singh
Mohit Suri found KK's replacement in Arijit Singh, and it turned out to be a prominent USP for the movie. Almost all the songs, including Tum Hi Ho, Bhula Dena, Chahun Main Ya Na, Milne Hai Mujhse Aayi, and Aasan Nahi Yahan, were sung by Arijit Singh, and he became an overnight sensation in the country.
KK had also sung one song, Piya Aaye Na, while Ankit Tiwari lent his voice to Sun Raha Hai Na.
The trio of Aashiqui 2, Mohit Suri, Arijit Singh, and music composer Mithoon reunited for a song titled Dhun in Suri's upcoming movie, Saiyaara.
For the unversed, Saiyaara marks the acting debut of Ahaan Panday. It stars Aneet Padda as the leading lady. Slated to hit the cinemas on July 18, the romantic drama was originally an idea for Aashiqui 3.

Actors in India are renowned for wearing many hats, seamlessly juggling multiple roles both on and off screen. From R. Madhavan to Taapsee Pannu, many actors in the world of glitz and glamour were first engineers and then became stars. Today, we will discuss one such figure who pursued electrical engineering, worked in the real estate sector, and then gave it all up to become an actor. Now, this actor is all set to feature in a Rs 835 crore film. If you are wondering who this actor is, let us tell you that he is not from Bollywood, but the king of television. The actor in discussion is none other than Ravi Dubey. An actor known to be a jack of all trades, he is now poised to make headlines globally. Ravi Dubey is all set to reprise the character of Laxman in director Nitesh Tiwari's two-part film series Ramayana: Part 1 and 2. Ravi, who gained a massive breakthrough with serials like Saas Bina Sasural and later with Jamai Raja, is now gearing up to make it big in Bollywood with a film that reportedly has a budget of Rs 835 crore. Did You Know Ravi Was an Engineer by Profession? Yes, you read that right! Ravi did his electronics and telecommunications engineering at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Mumbai. Since his father, Gyan Prakash Dubey, was a civil engineer, Ravi chose the same field as a backup plan. He began his career in modelling before making his television debut with Stree… Teri Kahaani (2006-2007). According to Wikipedia, Ravi also worked as a real estate agent. However, he knew his true calling was acting and hence started his journey in the same field. The actor later got married to co-star Sargun Mehta on December 7, 2013. The duo also own a film and television production company, Dreamiyata Entertainment. Since then, he never looked back. About Ramayana Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana is all set to woo the audience. The movie stars Ranbir Kapoor in the role of Lord Ram, whereas Sai Pallavi will play the role of Goddess Sita. According to Hindustan Times, the film, produced on an extravagant scale, has exceeded the production budgets of Kalki 2898 AD (Rs 600 crore), as well as RRR and Adipurush (both Rs 550 crore).

Metro In Dino movie box office prediction: How much will Anurag Basu's Bollywood comeback earn on release date?

With Metro In Dino, Anurag Basu is making a comeback to Bollywood after five years. In fact, this is his return to theatrical releases after eight years. His last film, Ludo, was a direct-to-OTT release on Netflix. Metro In Dino will be released on July 4. It was earlier planned for November 29, 2024. The film shares emotional stories of four modern-day couples, based in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Bengaluru. These stories connect later in the film. The film was shot in Kolkata and Delhi, with some scenes in Himachal Pradesh. Konkona Sen Sharma returns from the original Life in a Metro. Other lead actors include Pankaj Tripathi, Aditya Roy Kapur, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sara Ali Khan, Ali Fazal, Anupam Kher and Neena Gupta. Tripathi, Aditya and Fatima also featured in Ludo. Metro In Dino is expected to earn around ₹ 10–12 crore on its first day, according to Koimoi. The movie will possibly beat Anurag Basu's earlier record set by Kites in 2010. The Hrithik Roshan starrer opened at ₹ 10.40 crore. The Metro In Dino trailer was released on June 4, with positive reviews. So far, it has gained 27 million views and more than 20,000 comments. 'I want this one to work. Tired of politics, war... just give us some light moments and love on screen,' reacted one viewer. Another viewer wrote, 'A proper Bollywood movie. Keeping my fingers crossed for this one. Please heal this industry.' Metro In Dino cost ₹ 100 crore to make and promote, according to Pinkvilla. To be more specific, ₹ 85 crore was spent on production and ₹ 15 crore on advertising. It was originally planned at ₹ 65 crore but went ₹ 20 crore over budget, the publication added. Director Anurag Basu is also the co-producer and has charged a small fee. Even before release, the film has already earned ₹ 70 crore through non-theatrical sources. The Bollywood musical has earned ₹ 40 crore from Netflix and ₹ 15 crore from music rights. It is expected to fetch ₹ 15 crore from satellite rights, Pinkvilla added. Typically, a movie needs to earn double its budget to recover its full cost and break even. This means the film still needs to earn ₹ 130 crore from global theatre collections. Even if the film does decently at the box office, that should not be a tough task.

Why did Akshay Kumar demand Kareena Kapoor's casting opposite him in 2002's Talaash? Pahlaj Nihalani reveals shocking truth

Bollywood films these days, with a younger actress cast opposite an established actor in their 50s or maybe 60s, are becoming quite common. But there was a time when this was not the trend. However, Akshay Kumar broke the norm when he intervened in the casting of his 2003 film, Talaash: The Hunt Begins. In a recent interview, filmmaker and former CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani revealed that Khiladi Kumar insisted on casting Kareena Kapoor Khan opposite him so that he could appear young. Pahlaj Nihalani on Akshay Kumar's demand to cast Kareena Kapoor Talking to the Learn From The Legend YouTube channel, he admitted that it wasn't common for actors to interfere in a film's casting, and he wasn't accustomed to such things. He had always seen only producers and directors taking those decisions. Sharing an example, he cited Akshay Kumar's example, who wanted only Kareena Kapoor to be cast opposite him in Talaash: The Hunt Begins. Recalling the incident, Pahlaj narrated that Akshay was the first actor to have interfered in the casting of a film. He came to Pahlaj and assured him that they could begin filming right the next day, and he could give the actor whatever amount he wished, but the condition was just that the actress had to be Bebo. "It was one of the most costly films of that time; it was made in Rs 22 crore. This was the first time in my career that an actor had demanded a certain cast." Further explaining why the Hera Pheri 3 star wanted this casting, Nihalani revealed that sometimes, as actors grow older, they want to star opposite a younger actress so that their own age appears less pronounced. He also said that these days, actors decide everything and producers only work as a courier service. Pahlaj Nihalani on growing entourage expenses The veteran filmmaker also shed light on the current hot topic of the growing entourage cost in the industry. He expressed that the current work culture has become bloated with unnecessary demands and vanity. He said, "Where one person was working, now 10 people are employed. Earlier, there used to be one vanity van, but now actors demand six vanity vans — one for exercising, one for the kitchen, one for meetings. Sharam ani chahiye un actors ko jo che vanity vans mangate hai." (They should be ashamed to ask for 6 vanity vans.) Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more such updates.
