Alesha Dixon admits relationship woes amid split fears with her daughters' dad
Alesha Dixon has spoken about her relationship issues and insisted she can 'rise above' any problem in her private life. The Britain's Got Talent judge, 46, had previously split from her partner of 12 years, Azuka Ononye according to reports earlier this year.
But it is now believed that living together for their kids during the tough times has helped the couple to try to reignite their romance, and they are said to be doing "all it takes" to try to make the marriage work. In a new podcast interview Alesha says she knows no matter what is thrown at her she'll survive. Hinting at her recent tough times, she said: 'If I look back at the course of my whole life, I have highs and lows, and I think that's just reflective of life, isn't it?
She continues: "So as much as we'd all love to have the magical happy ending, life will be life. I'm sure I'll face many more challenges in my life, but no matter what challenges I'm faced with, I will rise above.'
In the podcast interview Alesha also opened up about the breakdown of her first marriage and how winning Strictly saved her from feeling lost. She split from MC Harvey in 2006 after he had an affair..
Alesha said: 'I felt so lost, like, so lost. I've never been in that situation before. I felt sorry for myself for a long time. Then I won Strictly Come Dancing. I'm being spun around in the air at the end. All this confetti was falling on me. I just looked up to the sky and I knew I was going to be okay.
'I could feel that energy at the time. And that really was what kind of got me through as well. Because it was a very emotionally challenging time. Being in Strictly as well, it enabled me to just be in this bubble.'
Alesha was talking on the Making A Scene podcast with David Walliams and Matt Lucas. She is friends with Walliams after they were both judges on BGT for a number of years.
Alesha is said to have confided in pals that her relationship with choreographer Azuka, 44, became 'more of a friendship' before their rumoured split.
The pair made their last joint red carpet appearance in July 2023 at Stormzy's star-studded 30th birthday and have not appeared on each other's social media in recent months.
The couple were rumoured to have married in 2017 and she introduced him as her 'lovely husband' during an appearance on Michael McIntyre's Big Show Christmas Special in December 2017, however neither have confirmed if a wedding took place. They share daughters Azura, 10, and Anaya, four.
On the Making A Scene podcast, co-host Walliams also revealed he bombarded Alesha with flowers before they met and hinted he may have tried to date her in the past.
Walliams said: 'I took a shine to you, which I don't mind saying. How could you not take a shine to this woman? We met at Strictly. I took my mum to the Strictly final. I sent Alesha a bunch of flowers to wish her well for the finals. But at that point, I'd never met you. Then our paths crossed…'
Lucas asked: 'Did you ever go on a date?' Walliams replied: 'No, she wouldn't go anywhere near me. She's not stupid. No, we're just friends.'

Its strapless design makes it ideal for summer soirees and garden parties, with the neckline providing the perfect canvas for statement necklaces, reports the Mirror . Elsewhere, the high street is offering plenty of mango inspo, proving it's a shade well worth incorporating into your wardrobe. PrettyLittleThing offers several budget-friendly options on their site. Similarly, Nobody's Child has embraced the colour trend with their Orange Broderie Anglaise Starlight Midi Dress available for £110. What truly won Amanda over was the Karen Millen co-ord set's crease-resistant material, meaning less hassle with ironing. She shared: "I thought oh, if I'm going to sit down all day it's going to crease up and look awful by the time I leave but look it's absolutely fine." What's more is that fashion fans can style the set in at least three ways to get more bang for their buck. Pairing the top with light blue jeans and heels could be stunning for cocktails or brunch, while teaming the trousers with a plain white tee and trainers offers a relaxed vibe, ensuring buyers can enjoy multiple outfits whether on holiday or in an office setting. Amanda is a keen admirer of Karen Millen, having chosen the brand on numerous occasions in the past. In May, she opted for the Cotton Stripe Belted Woven One Shoulder Top and paired it with the Stretch Denim Snaffle Trim Mini Skirt, both of which are still available. If Louise hasn't been going to festivals, she's been performing at them, with the singer launching a comeback with her Greatest Hits celebrating her career to date. She's also just released her fifth solo album Confessions. The Strictly winner was with ex Jamie Redknapp for 20 years and they share two sons. 'What's great is (Drew) is brilliant on a friendship level with the boys,' she told The Sun last month. Louise Redknapp says she felt 'the lowest a human could get' when she split from husband Jamie and 'almost gave up' 'They get on great with him. And that, for me, is super-important. There's just a real mutual respect there. Obviously Beau is still at school, but we spend a lot of time together.' The nine-year age gap inevitably led to Drew being described as her 'toyboy' and Louise being referred to as a 'cougar'. But it's 'water off a duck's back,' she added. 'For me, age is irrelevant – within reason – but he's not 22. I think it's more about the person and the life experiences and the connection that's important.' However, Louise isn't thinking about walking down the aisle a second time. 'Oh, I'm not even thinking that far ahead. I'm not even going there. Manifesting is a real hint to Drew. 'I'm not going to lie and say it isn't. But it's also a life lesson to be present in the here and now, so I'm not thinking down the line. I'm enjoying my relationship, my kids, my album and my life." After their split her ex Jamie went on to marry model Frida Andersson in 2021. 5 Louise with boyfriend Drew Credit: Instagram

Arlene Phillips shares reaction to Strictly fans who mistake her for much younger judge
Arlene Phillips shares reaction to Strictly fans who mistake her for much younger judge Dame Arlene Phillips says fans are always mixing her up with her friend on Strictly Come Dancing, who is 18 years her junior, years on from her controversial axe from the BBC show Arlene Phillip said she's often having to clarify who she is to fans (Image: undefined via Getty Images ) Dame Arlene Phillips is arguably the first choreographer to become a household name in Britain. Her dance ensemble, Hot Gossip, set the 1980s alight and sparked a lingerie-as-outerwear fashion trend, echoed by stars such as Sabrina Carpenter today. While those days may be behind her, Dame Arlene still remains as one of the dance industry's most well-known faces. In a recent chat, the former Strictly Come Dancing judge said fans often mistake her for the programme's current head judge, Shirley Ballas, 64. She shared: "People come running up shouting, 'Shirley! Shirley!' and I have to say, 'No, I'm the other one!'". Despite the mix-up, at 82, Arlene may find solace in being compared to someone nearly two decades her junior. Fans sometimes mistake Arlien for her pal Shirley Ballas [L] (Image: undefined via Getty Images ) Arlene endured a highly publicised departure from the Strictly Come Dancing jury in her sixties, which ignited heated debates over sexism and ageism within the media. The contentious casting change led over 2,000 viewers to lodge complaints with the BBC, and even drew political ire as Deputy Labour Leader Harriet Harman lambasted the BBC's choice as "absolutely shocking." Article continues below Throughout the uproar, Arlene chose to concentrate on her own pursuits: "I wrapped myself in my world and got on with life," she told The i newspaper. Arlene made a name for herself with dance troupe Hot Gossip (Image: undefined via Getty Images ) Many still approach her to opine that she shouldn't have been dismissed from the series after its 2008 season. Reflecting on her reaction to being replaced by Alesha Dixon, Arlene expressed initial anger but pointed out her swift rebound. "I gave myself 48 hours to kick, scream, cry and sob, and eat scones with cream and jam, then I made myself wake up and get on with it," she added. "I loved being on Strictly. It's very dear to my heart that I was there right from the start." Arlene continued, highlighting her resilience: "I'm a grown up so when life comes along and it doesn't go the way you want, you just get on with it." Bruno Tonioli, Arlene Phillips, Len Goodman and Craig Revel Horwood on Strictly (Image: BBC ) Meanwhile, a previous female colleague at the BBC conveyed to The Mirror their concerns about ageism, stating: "There seems to be a system that gives women no chance on air unless they are below a certain age." Article continues below They further lamented: "Arlene may have a job on The One Show, but she is being pushed out of Strictly even though she was an excellent judge with great knowledge on dancing. There is no really good reason for it." At the time, the BBC denied that ageism played any role in Arlene being replaced. In defence of the decision to bring in former Strictly champion Alesha as Arlene's replacement, BBC One controller Jay Hunt asserted: "Yes, a lot of people were upset about Arlene but the flip side is, in Alesha, we have a young, black, woman presenter, at the heart of the Saturday night BBC One schedule."
