Arab Summit : King Mohammed VI calls for Palestinian factions to reconcile
King Mohammed VI delivered a speech at the Arab League summit held on Saturday in Baghdad. The message was read on his behalf by Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita.
In his address, the monarch emphasized the importance of supporting the Palestinian Authority, calling for backing of the institution led by «our brother, His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas Abou Mazen», to enable it to strengthen its institutions and fulfill the aspirations of the Palestinian people for security, peace, progress, and prosperity.
The King also underscored the need to achieve «national reconciliation» among Palestinian factions, noting that this goal «remains key to strengthening the Palestinian position in any future peace process».
As a reminder, Morocco hosted a series of political consultations in January 2013 between representatives of Fatah—Mahmoud Abbas's organization—and the Islamist movement Hamas, in an effort to end tensions dating back to 2006. These meetings were closely monitored by King Mohammed VI, who tasked his advisor Abdellatif Menouni with receiving both delegations at the Royal Palace in Rabat.

It warned of the repercussions for regional and global security. The National Action Group for Palestine echoed the criticism, calling the strikes «an act of aggression against Iran and its people». It held the United States and NATO «directly responsible, as the main sponsor and instigator of the Zionist entity». The Moroccan Front for Support of Palestine and Against Normalization went further, describing the attack as «a treacherous Zionist aggression carried out with direct American support». The group said it was part of a broader effort to suppress sovereign nations that seek progress and technology, even for peaceful purposes. Rabat – As the world fixates on the spectacle of Israeli-Iranian confrontation, the genocide in Gaza grinds on — starved, bombed, and erased — but with dramatically reduced media coverage. Media outlets have largely shifted to the clashes between Israel and Iran, while Gaza suffers under an almost complete internet blackout that has now stretched over two days, severing communication with the outside world and shrouding Israel's genocide in darkness. Although Israel has cut off communication multiple times throughout its genocidal campaign, the digital siege tightened further on Thursday, June 12, when Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) airstrikes targeted what remained of Gaza's telecommunications infrastructure. The Palestinian Telecommunications Regulatory Authority stated that Israel has deliberately and repeatedly targeted the sector, systematically isolating Gaza from the world and obstructing even emergency repairs. As attention wanes, Palestinian poet and genocide survivor Mosab Abu Toha urged on social media for the world to refocus on Gaza — where there is 'No defense system. No army. No sirens. Morocco and Chad sign driver's license recognition agreement
The Government Council, which met on Thursday in Rabat, reviewed an agreement on the mutual recognition of driver's licenses between the governments of Morocco and Chad. Speaking at a press briefing following the meeting, Minister Delegate for Relations with Parliament and Government Spokesperson Mustapha Baitas explained that the agreement—signed in Dakhla on August 14, 2024—was presented along with draft law 02.25, which approves the agreement.
