Forget blind spots — Wyze's Duo Cam Pan system uses two cameras to see nearly everywhere
While the Duo Cam Pan is not fully wireless — it's powered vi a 1.8m USB cable — it is rated IP65 weather resistant so it can be mounted in a variety of indoor or outdoor locations. Wyze has pointed out that it has been specifically designed in order to minimize equipment and installation time, but it also delivers 'double the visibility with the affordability and convenience of one device.' Each lens can capture adjacent areas, or one camera can follow movement while the other keeps watch on the full picture.
The other features of the Duo Cam Pan include a 2K resolution with color night vision and a wide dynamic range, which balances dark and light spots for more even pictures.
Each camera includes a motion activated spotlight and there's a 100db siren as an intruder deterrent. Users can set up to four spots for the camera to scan and regularly patrol in any area using the Pan Scan feature.
There's also two way audio, 24/7 local recording using the 512 GB microSD card (which means there's no subscription required), and the Duo Cam Pan will work with smart home assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant. It can also work with Wyze Automation and has IFTTT support.
The Duo Cam Pan is available on Wyze.com starting today for $70, which is around double that of some of Wyze's other cameras, but hey, you're getting two cameras for one here.

I just gave my iPhone night vision with this USB-C thermal camera — and now I can see in the dark
I've tested more than a handful of thermal cameras the past year alone. From using them to uncover potential dangers around my home, to seeing how much a phone overheats, there's plenty of practical applications for them. The only problem is that none of them supported the iPhone; they only worked on Android phones. Well, that's until I got my hands on the Thermal Master P3. It's the first one the company has released that supports iPhone, in addition to ongoing Android support to add night vision to just about any phone. Similar to all the other thermal cameras I've tested, the Thermal Master P3 attaches via USB-C — and doesn't require its own power source. Since I always carry an iPhone with me, having this accessory means I'm finally able to give my iPhone night vision. Right now, you can get the Thermal Master P3 with a $50 off discount that brings its price down to $299. Here's all the ways I've been using it. Give any phone night vision with the Thermal Master P3, which now supports iPhone. This portable thermal camera attaches via USB-C to give you thermal vision to see heat signatures. It can be used for all sorts of things from around the home projects, to detailed benchmark testing. Price check: $349 @ Amazon While there are phones with integrated thermal cameras, the actual cameras that come with them are usually bad. I'm talking about super grainy photos that are soft, and they're just garbage under low light conditions. I would much rather have any of the best camera phones around, like my iPhone 16 Pro Max, and then add on a night vision camera to it. That's exactly the premise behind the Thermal Master P3, which connects via USB-C to my iPhone or Android phone. In addition to its support for iPhones, I really like how I can adjust the focus of the P3 to image stuff very close or far away. Other thermal cameras I've tested have a fixed focus, which means the image could get fuzzy if I'm not at the right distance. With this tool, however, I can put the thermal camera very close for macro-quality imaging — like how I used it to find out how much heat is being expelled from the laptop above. It's like having Predator vision, but on my iPhone. I even tested to see how accurate it is at reading temperatures by pointing an infrared thermometer at that spot, which recorded it to be about 98-degrees. The Thermal Master P3 was a bit higher at 101-degrees. Around my home, I used the Thermal Master P3 to see if a recent water line I had installed was leaky and spilling water to the surrounding area. When I go outside in my backyard for a night of astrophotography, I keep the Thermal Master P3 on my iPhone to make sure there are no critters out there before I approach my telescope. I've even used it on myself this one time to sniff out a bug bite I got while doing some yard work over the weekend. I'm not sure what bit me, but I could tell there was a bump around that area — so I pointed the thermal camera right over it. What it revealed was a noticeable hotspot on the surface of my skin, which I suspect was a battleground for my immune system responding to the threat. I also pointed the camera at my two cats because I was curious what it'd show. What's interesting is that it showed me how their fur coats help to regulate their body temperature. I always thought they'd be hot to the touch because of their coats, but quite the contrary. These are just a few of many ways I've been using the Thermal Master P3. I just love how an attachable device like this has so many uses. Follow Tom's Guide on Google News to get our up-to-date news, how-tos, and reviews in your feeds. Gemini on the Pixel Watch 3 was supposed to solve my biggest issue with Google's voice commands — but it apparently made it worse
If you'd come to me a few months ago and asked me what my biggest pet peeve with my Google Pixel Watch 3 was, I'd have probably said something like how finicky it is to charge. But right after that, it would have been the fact that its voice commands still ran on Google Assistant while my Pixel 9 Pro ran on Gemini. Considering that Assistant and Gemini both have the same wake-up word, that led to some awkward situations. Asking my watch to do something almost always led to my phone picking up what I was saying, and meant I had two devices trying to compete for my attention. I thought having Gemini on my Pixel Watch would help solve this issue — but that seems to have been wishful thinking. Just the other day, I was doing... something, I don't really remember what, but I wanted to use my watch and Gemini to set a timer. Despite the fact that I had the watch about an inch from my mouth, speaking into it secret agent style, it never actually responded to what I was saying. What I didn't know at that time was that my phone, which was two rooms over, had picked up what I'd said and put the timer on. All while I had manually activated Gemini on my wrist and set up an identical timer to make up for the fact that the AI apparently didn't want to get up and do its job. All the while, both these devices were connected via Bluetooth and no apparent issues with the connection. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. And this got me wondering what the benefit of having Gemini on my watch actually is. Not only did it not connect to my wakeup command, but it wasn't able to communicate that my phone had done it instead. It's a level of disconnect that should not be happening. Not only because it makes Gemini look bad, but also because the whole point of having these connected ecosystems is that our devices are supposed to be able to communicate with each other. It's happened with Alexa, too, where I'm trying to get something done in the kitchen, and the Echo Show in my wife's office upstairs somehow picks up that I want something. So I end up with two Echos doing the exact same thing, seemingly unaware that I only wanted that playlist running in one room at a time. I don't use voice assistants very often, instead preferring to do things myself and avoid any issues like I've just described. But there are times when using your hands just doesn't work, and voice commands are all you have. Then situations like this happen, and it makes you wonder why you bothered in the first place. People use voice assistants to control their smart home every day without issue. But these systems have now been in place for long enough that they should be able to work a little more seamlessly across devices. Whether it's an old-school voice assistant interface or an AI chatbot, different devices capable of running a single system should be able to gauge where you are and how best to interact with you. In an ideal world, different assistants would be able to communicate and act accordingly, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Certainly not when they're all trying to become the biggest and best AI company there is. But I would happily settle for my phone to stop getting confused and trying to complete tasks I'm asking my watch to perform.
