Traitors star opens up about 'violent childhood'
The 47-year-old, who spent five years living in Dublin, appeared on the hit show hosted by Claudia Winkleman, last year.
Ash has now opened up about her traumatic childhood in hopes of shining a light on issues surrounding domestic abuse.
She said she was nine years old when she realised that her home was not a safe place.
"I spent my childhood lying awake, terrified that the next scream I heard would mean something terrible, and that I would be in the firing line again," she said.
Ash said she lived in fear as she was forbidden from engaging with the outside world, having friends or expressing her interests.
She confided in her school teachers, but said that while they were supportive, the community organisations she was linked with were not.
"These organisations told me to stay compliant, to be a 'good girl', rather than offering any real solutions," she explained.
"I quickly understood that their advice did not reflect an understanding of the situation I was living through."
Ash said she was 13 when she reached a turning point, contacting ChildLine for the first time.
"I was terrified, but I knew I had to get help from somewhere. They advised me to speak to a trusted adult, so I confided in my science teacher."
She was once again linked in with community support, and when she turned 16, she left home and went into a women's refuge.
"Stepping into that refuge was the first time I felt a sense of security. The refuge not only provided safety but also resources for her emotional healing."
She was also linked with a police officer who specialised in young women escaping abuse.
"He was a vital resource, guiding me and ensuring my safety," she explained, adding that she felt haunted by the fact she had to leave her younger sister behind.
"I had to put my safety first, but the guilt of leaving my sister alone in that environment was overwhelming."
The Birmingham-born TV star added that for victims, there are still barriers to accessing help.
"My past is not just my story, it represents many who are still suffering in silence today.
"It is crucial that we confront these issues head-on, realising that cultural and social barriers often silence victims.
"We need to create more widely accessible support systems for girls and young women who feel trapped, no matter their background," she continued.
"If there is anybody right now who is trapped in a situation like I was, I want them to know there is always a way out, even when it seems impossible."

Leonardo DiCaprio reflects on turning 50 and feeling as though he is still 32
Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio has reflected on turning 50 and revealed he still feels as though he is in his early 30s. The Los Angeles-born A-lister, known for his roles in Titanic, The Wolf Of Wall Street and Romeo And Juliet, celebrated his milestone birthday in November. In conversation with US filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson for men's magazine Esquire, DiCaprio said he feels 32 in response to Anderson asking him how old he feels, imagining he does not know his actual age. "You're going to answer as quickly as you can. If you didn't know how old you are, how old are you right now?" Anderson asked. Responding to Anderson's question on whether now is "a natural time for reflection" after turning 50, DiCaprio said: "Well, it creates a feeling like you have a desire to just be more honest and not waste your time. "I can only imagine how the next few decades are going to progress. I look at my mother, for example, and she just says exactly what she thinks and wastes no time. She spends no time trying to fake it." Presenting our 2025 Mavericks of Hollywood cover star, #LeonardoDiCaprio. #OneBattleAfterAnother marks the actor's first film with writer-director Paul Thomas Anderson, who also photographed and interviewed him for Esquire. 🔗: — Esquire (@esquire) August 13, 2025 He added: "Being more upfront and risking having things fall apart or risk the disagreements or risk going your separate ways from any type of relationship in life — the personal, professional — it's that you just don't want to waste your time any more. "You have to just be much more upfront. It's almost a responsibility because much more of your life is behind you than it is ahead of you." DiCaprio stars in Anderson's new film, One Battle After Another, an action thriller which sees a group of ex-revolutionaries reunite to save the daughter of DiCaprio's character. Asked how he avoids getting the "blues" after filming, he said: "I think I'm good at it because I take a lot of time off between films. "I do things more sparingly, which means you're anxious to get back to your real life once you've finished filming. "Life goes on hold when you're filming. Everything stops and gets put on the back burner in your real life. "I might be more concerned if I worked too much. To go from film to film, I would be scared about: what do I have to come back to? I'm very fortunate for that." DiCaprio made his film debut in 1991 and has since won a slew of awards including an Oscar and Bafta for his role in 2015's The Revenant. Reflecting on his career, the US actor added: "I rarely watch any of my films, but if I'm being honest, there is one that I've watched more than others. It's The Aviator. That's simply because it was such a special moment to me. "I had worked with Marty (Scorsese) on Gangs Of New York, and I'd been toting around a book on Howard Hughes for 10 years. "I almost did it with Michael Mann, but there was a conflict and I ended up bringing it to Marty. I was 30. It was the first time as an actor I got to feel implicitly part of the production, rather than just an actor hired to play a role. "I felt responsible in a whole new way. I've always felt proud and connected to that film as such a key part of my growing up in this industry and taking on a role of a real collaborator for the first time."

Bonnie Blue Instagram mystery as star vanishes after Ibiza Final Boss video
Bonnie Blue disappeared from Instagram just hours after sharing a video with 'Ibiza Final Boss' Jack Kay. The contentious adult star, who has been banned from OnlyFans, a football stadium and Australia due to her extreme and potentially hazardous sex stunts, vanished from the social media platform today, with her previously verified account being inaccessible for several hours. This isn't the first time Bonnie has gone missing from Instagram. Earlier this year, her account on the Meta-owned platform went dark, as did her TikTok page. The star's Instagram has now dramatically reappeared, but it remains unclear whether it was temporarily banned or removed by Bonnie herself. This comes as 'Ibiza Bob' kickstarts his music career with a cheeky single. The sex worker is infamous for using rage bait as the cornerstone of her marketing strategy, making any move away from social media a surprising decision. She recently confessed in a divisive Channel 4 documentary about her life that she uses multiple different accounts on each platform to spam users with content designed to outrage viewers and drive engagement, reports the Mirror. Bonnie Blue (Image: Rob Parfitt / Channel 4) Bonnie Blue. (Image: Jam Press/@bonnie_blue_xox) She also bragged about mocking and belittling women in her posts. PR expert Sophie tells The Mirror about her social media scheme: "Her use of rage-baiting and hostility towards other women may also point to internalised misogyny or a competitive survival strategy in a space where attention equals power. "Publicly belittling others can offer a temporary illusion of control or superiority – especially when self-worth is closely tied to external validation, views, or notoriety." The Instagram snub comes hot on the heels of Bonnie's peculiar rendezvous with viral Geordie party-goer Jack Kay. In a cringe-inducing video from their Ibiza meet-up, Jack is seen with his arm casually slung around Bonnie, facing away from her. Another clip shows the pair engaging in awkward chit-chat, standing noticeably distant from each other. Following their encounter, Bonnie revealed in a now-removed clip: "It was my shortest video yet. I was shocked how nervous he was." Bonnie has gained infamy for participating in extreme sexual stunts, including sleeping with 1,057 men within just 12 hours. Recently, her controversial career aspirations escalated to such an extent that OnlyFans, the platform where she made her mark, decided she was no longer suitable. The last straw came in June, when the 26 year old unveiled her plans to host a human "petting zoo challenge". The stunt would have involved Bonnie being locked in a glass cage while strangers were invited to do "whatever they wanted" to her. In Channel 4's programme '1,000 Men And Me: The Bonnie Blue Story' - which triggered hundreds of Ofcom complaints - Nottinghamshire-born Bonnie bragged: "I am going to be completely helpless, tied down, gagged, choked". OnlyFans has expressed concerns about this stunt, stating it violated their Acceptable Use Policy and Terms of Service, resulting in a permanent ban. Campaigners and fellow sex workers have long urged the website to take action against Bonnie's stunts, but she continued to be platformed until recently. In a statement confirming the permanent ban, an OnlyFans spokesperson previously stated: "Extreme challenge content is not available on OnlyFans and is not permitted under our Acceptable Use Policy and Terms of Service. "Any breach of our Terms of Service results in content or account deactivation... This is why it has been necessary to take this action. We always act when users breach our terms of service." For Bonnie, who alleges to have made millions through the site, this was a significant setback. Shortly after the ban, she accused OnlyFans of acting inconsistently and succumbing to peer pressure. She alleged: "OnlyFans took unprecedented action by banning me for making content, while multiple other creators are mimicking my entire marketing techniques and events." Adding that she ensures all safety checks are in place at her events, Bonnie went on to say: "If I didn't have the platform I have for the hard work I've done, I don't think they would have battered an eyelid, as proven with all of these other creators." Bonnie Blue. (Image: bonnie_blue_xox/Instagram) Bonnie Blue met the Ibiza Final Boss for a surprise visit (Image: Supplied) This isn't the first occasion Bonnie has faced a stringent prohibition. Earlier this year, Bonnie revealed to the Daily Star that she'd been escorted from Nottingham Forest Football Stadium premises last October and given a lifetime ban. She claimed: "I didn't understand why, because I'd not actually done anything. Even in my TikToks leading up to the game, I never said I wanted to have sex, do any half-time bonking, nothing. I just said: 'Hey, I'm going to be at the Nottingham game'. "When you go to football, you've got football hooligans, people fighting, drinking, you've got so much bigger things to be concerned about, and they were just like - no, you're banned." Bonnie is also barred from Australia following her intentions to sleep with 18 year old lads for content during 'Schoolies Week', which enraged Australian parents. A 20,000-signature petition followed, resulting in her visa being cancelled. Whether Bonnie has been suspended from Instagram remains to be confirmed.
