Green Minecraft Movie Milk Gets Its Color From Chemicals The Government Wants To 'Eliminate'
Minecraft has milk in it but it's not green. Instead, the 'Creeper milk' going viral on Tiktok arises purely from the marketing geniuses behind chocolate milk maker TruMoo.Drafting off of the Minecraft Movie's box office success, the dairy company released jugs of Minecraft-licensed 'Vanilla Green Lowfat Milk' that looks like melted Shamrock Shakes. There's only one problem: they get their Creeper green from petroleum-based dyes the federal government is trying to get rid of.
As spotted by GameSpot, the contraband food dye is 'Blue No. 1" and can be found in the Minecraft Movie milk's list of ingredients. It's one of a number of synthetic coloring agents that the Trump Administration is looking to ban over concerns about potential links to behavioral changes in children and even cancer. Foods with certain chemical colorings like Red No. 3 already require warning labels in places like Europe.
'The FDA is fast-tracking the review of calcium phosphate, Galdieria extract blue, gardenia blue, butterfly pea flower extract, and other natural alternatives to synthetic food dyes,' the Federal Food and Drug Administration announced earlier this week. 'The agency is also taking steps to issue guidance and provide regulatory flexibilities to industries.' The plan is to get rid of the synthetic dyes from all foods sold in the U.S. by 2026.
As it stands, Creeper milk has been popping up all over social media as people encounter the chilled emerald draughts in the dairy sections of their local supermarkets. 'Found this creeper milk at Walmart yesterday,' one fan wrote on the Minecraft subreddit earlier this month. 'I know you could milk squids before, but milking creepers is beyond me,' another responded. Others have pointed out that TruMoo was also the company behind last year's blue Star Wars milk, a play on the substance fueling a grizzled Luke Skywalker's stoic existence in the most recent trilogy.
Star Wars and Minecraft Movie milk might not be long for this world if health secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his dead brainworm have their way. And the timing couldn't be worse for lovers of depraved promotional drink crossovers. The next Mario Bros. and Shrek movies are both due out in 2026. Pour one out for the red Mushroom and green Ogre milks that might have been.
It might be safer to start staying away from milk altogether in the near future anyway. With unprecedented cuts to FDA staffing, routine safety checks for dairy, meat, and other food prone to bacterial outbreaks are apparently slowing down. Today's Creeper milk might end up being safer than 2026's store-brand 2 percent after all.

Levy says that Starfighter will cover new territory in franchise storytelling and won't feature any of the major characters from prior releases. 'This is a standalone. It's not a prequel, not sequel. It's a new adventure. It's set in a period of time that we haven't seen explored yet,' the filmmaker said. 'The reality is that this script is just so good. It has such a great story with great and original characters,' said Gosling. 'It's filled with so much heart and adventure, and there just really is not a more perfect filmmaker for this particular story than Shawn.' Sega Throws Shade At Mario Kart While Showing Off Sonic Racing: Crossworlds
At today's Summer Game Fest showcase, Sega showed off Sonic Racing: Crossworlds. The kart racer is a big ol' crossover event between the blue blur and other Sega characters. After previous leaks claimed Minecraft and Spongebob characters would join the racer's roster, Sega revealed that several of its own heroes are joining. Joker from Persona 5, Hatsune Miku, and Ichiban Kasuga from Yakuza will all be off to the races, as well as Steve from Minecraft, who was hinted at in the leaks. That's all well and good, but one of the funnier moments of the showcase was Sonic producer Takashi Iizuka taking the stage right after and throwing some light shade at Nintendo and Mario Kart World. Iizuka made what was seemingly a dig at Mario Kart World during his presentation. He never says the game by name, but says that, 'unlike another kart racing game,' Crossworlds has cross-platform multiplayer across PC, Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It's a bold jab to make at the Switch 2 kart racer while everyone is hootin' and hollerin' about it just after the system's launch this week. But it also feels like a fun wink and nod toward the companies' old rivalry. Back when Sega was making its own consoles and competing directly with Nintendo, the company wasn't afraid to throw a punch in its marketing. The Sega Genesis tagline 'Sega does what Nintendon't' is still iconic, though it didn't really pan out for Sega in the long run, given the company is no longer in the console-making business. Either way, Sonic Racing: Crossworlds does have that cross-platform flex over Mario Kart, which is a Switch 2 exclusive. Sonic and friends are racing on just about every platform, so it will be more widely accessible. That being said, Mario Kart World is probably going tohave an unheard of attach rate, given it's the system seller for the Switch 2 right now. Andor actress Genevieve O'Reilly's Star Wars journey has been longer and more circuitous than most actors in the franchise, but what a payoff she received. The ethereal Rebel leader Mon Mothma was originally portrayed by actress Caroline Blakiston in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Though her appearance lasted less than 30 seconds, the character quickly became an iconic part of Star Wars lore. O'Reilly later stepped into the role in her 20s for Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith — a brief appearance as well, but one that laid the groundwork for her deeper involvement in the franchise later on. Genevieve O'Reilly: I bet! Would you be excited if the right call came to pick this character up yet again? I mean, do you know what? It's been such a gift of a surprise for me to come back — and back — and Andor has been revelatory for me in regard to this woman. So, always! If we could go further, I don't know if that's possible because of what Andor has achieved, it's just extraordinary. But yes. You've participated in a lot of different projects. What did that mean to you to of be a part of what may be a whole new direction for a certain type of film or series? I can only speak from my perspective to the writing, to Tony [Gilroy] and all those writers and what they achieved, in regard to a depth of character, the depth of interaction. And I think something that Season 2 really achieved was by jumping that year every three episodes it allowed for a real specificity of character, a real specificity of this moment and who this is, which allowed for kind of big swings — swings of character. So that was really interesting to me, that you didn't have to carry the audience with you from one moment to the next. You could drop in and just reveal something quite different. Did you have any unanswered questions about Mon Mothma at the end of this, or are you pretty satisfied with what you do understand about her? I remember something when I started this so long ago, that there was something in Caroline Blakiston's performance [in Return of the Jedi] that I was really curious about, and what that pain was at the center of her. And I was always seeking that. And I feel like at the end of Andor I've kind of closed the circle on her. I understand her pain. I understand that personal trauma and that personal relationship to sacrifice the Rebellion much more. Tell me about when you got that very first call to pick up this character all those years ago, what your reaction was then? And now, when you're become truly the custodian of that character after all this time and really been the one who got to play the things that deepened her and filled out her mythology. Can you compare and contrast those moments? There're three big moments for me, actually. The first one was just getting that role when I was a very young actor and just being wide-eyed and just it was so extraordinary to step onto those sets and be a tiny part of that. The real interesting moment for me was when they called me to ask me to do Rogue One, because that was 10 years later. So much had happened in that time. They didn't have to ring. They didn't have to ask me, do you know what I mean? They kind of could have reached out to anyone at that point and that felt special. So I thought, 'OK, maybe I have something to offer here.' And then when Tony rang in regard to Andor, I mean he's such an extraordinary writer. He had such a vision for the piece and he really wanted to allow space for her to have a proper story, to have story time, narrative time, rather than just be an expositional force, which she was previously. What was the most challenging but perhaps the most gratifying day of work on for you? Yeah, that was the speech. Mon's speech. It took a day and it was extraordinary and that was so important to me. It was so important to me. I felt it was the fulcrum of who she is, really the center. I thought that everything else makes sense if she can land that, it was a real gift that he gave to me and trusted me with and, yeah, I brought everything I could to it. And I'm sure, too, the dance. The dance is her transition — now she's . There's blood in her hands at that point. And being able to release her physically was just everything, because it is a lens into character. And we'd never seen her move, we'd never really seen her outside of that calm that she has. So to be able to expose that trauma, that chaos, physically was so wonderful. Yeah, revelatory, I hope, for the audience, and also for me as an actor.
