Trump threatens Iran with "different approach" if it enriches uranium
Washington - Saba: US President Donald Trump has reiterated his warning to Iran against proceeding with uranium enrichment on its territory, stressing that his country "will not allow it." In statements reported by US media aboard Air Force One while en route to Jersey on Friday evening, Trump explained that "Washington will have to take different measures if Iran continues to enrich uranium," without specifying the nature of these measures. Trump added: "They will not enrich... and if they enrich, we will have to take action and take a different direction," indicating the possibility of adopting a policy far from negotiations. The US President stressed that he does not want escalation, but he will not hesitate to take the necessary measures, concluding his remarks by saying: "We will have no other choice... We will not allow enrichment." These statements came two days after Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, rejected a US proposal to establish a "regional consortium" (a grouping of two or more countries working together) to manage uranium enrichment, raising questions about the fate of the negotiations between the two countries. The sixth round of US-Iranian negotiations was expected to be held soon, but Khamenei deemed the US proposal contrary to Tehran's interests. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print

Iran condemns racist measure to ban citizens from entering US
Tehran - Saba: The Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the racist measure taken by Washington to ban its citizens and several other countries from entering the United States. Iranian News Agency (IRNA) reported on Saturday that Alireza Hashemi Raja, Director General for Iranian Affairs Abroad at the Iranian Foreign Ministry, strongly condemned the recent move by the US government to ban citizens of Iran and several other Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States. Hashemi Raja described this measure as a clear sign of the prevalence of racist mentality among American decision-makers. He said: 'The US government's decision to ban the entry of Iranian citizens based on their religion and nationality not only indicates the deep hostility of American decision-makers toward the Iranian people and Muslims, but also violates the fundamental principles of international law, including the principle of non-discrimination and fundamental human rights.' He added: "Denying hundreds of millions of people the right to travel to another country solely on the basis of their nationality or religion is an example of racial discrimination and systematic racism within the US government. It violates international human rights standards and will entail international responsibility for the US government." Hashemi Raja called on the United Nations and human rights organizations to publicly oppose the US's unilateral policies that violate human rights standards, stressing that Iran will not refrain from taking any action to protect the rights of Iranian citizens from the effects and consequences of the US government's discriminatory decision. Iran: Raids on Beirut's suburbs blatant aggression against Lebanon's territorial integrity, sovereignty
Tehran – Saba: The Islamic Republic of Iran described the Israeli enemy's airstrikes on Lebanon as a "blatant aggression against Lebanon's territorial integrity and sovereignty." Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei condemned the Israeli airstrikes on residential areas in the southern suburbs of Beirut on the eve of Eid al-Adha on Friday, according to the Iranian news agency IRNA. Baghaei pointed out that the Israeli entity's repeated attacks on Lebanon come amid the silence and inaction of the Security Council, emphasizing the direct responsibility of the United States and France as guarantors of the ceasefire between Lebanon and the Israeli entity. He emphasized that the Israeli entity cannot continue its blatant violations of the law and blatant breaches of the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law without a green light and American support. He stressed the need for the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities in addressing the violations of the ceasefire agreement and the aggressive actions of the Zionist entity, calling on the Council to take practical measures in accordance with the duties assigned to it under the UN Charter. Baghaei considered that the continued rebellion of the Zionist entity in the region and its aggression against Lebanon and other Islamic countries further demonstrates that the only way to preserve the independence and national sovereignty of states is to strengthen their defensive capabilities and honorable resistance against the Israeli enemy.
