El Paso woman, 90, dies after truck hits her on crosswalk at Northeast park
A 90-year-old woman died at a hospital after she was hit by a pickup truck in a crosswalk next to a Northeast El Paso park, police said.
Helen Clanan was at a crosswalk near Todd Ware Park in the Castner Heights neighborhood, where she resided, when at 8 p.m. on May 20 she was struck by a 2009 GMC Sierra driven by Diana Garcia Johnson, 65, of San Elizario, a police news release by EPPD spokesman Officer Adrian Cisneros stated.

The El Paso County Medical Examiner's Office on Friday, May 23, notified police investigators that Clanan, who had been hospitalized since the collision, died, police stated.
Police reported that the GMC Sierra was westbound on Rutherford Drive when the truck stopped at the intersection with Stahala Drive, turned left and struck Clanan, who was on a crosswalk on the 9300 block of Stahala Drive.
No charges have been filed against the driver, Cisneros said. The pedestrian death was the 24th traffic-related fatality in El Paso this year.

During an immediate search of the area, the bodies of the three missing girls were discovered. Decker was not located. The Washington State Patrol was contacted Friday night to request an AMBER Alert, but it did not meet the required criteria. Authorities in Washington state search for Pewaukee native whose daughters were found dead
WENATCHEE, Wash. - Police in Washington state have begun a manhunt for a Pewaukee native suspected of killing his three daughters there. A warrant has been issued for Travis Decker, 32, for three counts each of first-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping, the Wenatchee Police Department said in a June 3 news release. The girls — Paityn Decker, 9, Evelyn Decker, 8, and Olivia Decker, 5 — were found dead in Chelan County on June 2, three days after they were reported missing. Decker was still being sought as part of an investigation that began May 30, when he failed to return the three girls to their mother under a custodial arrangement. Wenatchee police attempted to get the Washington State Patrol to issue an Amber Alert, but circumstances did not warrant a child-abduction alert at that time, according to the release. According to police, Decker has been living mostly out of his pickup truck, staying occasionally in motels and campgrounds. When the girls were reported missing, authorities — including Wenatchee police, Chelan County sheriff deputies, detectives and a Homeland Security helicopter — began searching those area businesses and sites, and also used Flock surveillance cameras to try to trace his vehicle's path. Decker's GMC Sierra truck was eventually located at about 3:45 p.m. June 2 near the Rock Island Campground, in Chelan County, but neither Decker nor his daughters were in it. Shortly thereafter, the girls' bodies were discovered in that vicinity. Police offered no specifics about how they died or precisely where they were found. Authorities are searching for a Washington state father of 3 dead girls
A man in central Washington state is wanted for murder after his three young daughters were reported missing and then found dead. Authorities asked the public Tuesday for help finding Travis Decker, 32, who is wanted for three counts of murder and kidnapping, according to police in Wenatchee, about 100 miles (160 kilometers) east of Seattle. Police said it was unknown whether Decker, a former Army soldier with 'extensive training,' was armed. On Friday the mother of the girls, ages 9, 8 and 5, reported that their father did not return them after a planned visit, police said. Over the weekend authorities looked for the children and for Decker, who was believed to be living out of a white 2017 GMC Sierra pickup with Washington plates. Decker's unoccupied truck was found Monday near a campground, police said, and officers found the girls' bodies during a search. Anyone who may have seen Decker since Friday or knows his current location was asked to call 911. 'Due to safety concerns do not attempt to contact or approach Decker,' police said. The Wenatchee School District said the girls were students of Lincoln Elementary. Counseling services were available, and the district asked people to respect the privacy of students, staff members and families and come to the campus only for regular school business. It was not known how long the girls were with Decker before their mother contacted police, according to Capt. Brian Chance. 'What prompted her to call us was that ... he was late returning the girls and had not communicated to her that he was going to be late, which was his typical fashion and so this was out of the ordinary,' Chance said. Decker and the girls' mother are divorced, Chance said. He did not have details on how the girls were killed or on Decker's employment. In addition to living out of his truck, Decker is known to occasionally stay in motels, Chance said. Chelan County Sheriff's Office, which found the truck, was leading the search in the Okanogan Wenatchee National Forest area while other teams followed up on 'potential credible information and tips' regarding Decker's location, the agency said in a statement.
