Panthers describe Georgia rookie RB with two words
The Carolina Panthers drafted Georgia Bulldogs running back Trevor Etienne in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL draft. Etienne will have a good opportunity to earn carries behind Carolina running backs Chubba Hubbard and Rico Dowdle as a rookie.
Trevor Etienne is a versatile running back that is capable both as a runner and as a receiver. Etienne, who spent the first two seasons of his college football career with the Florida Gators, played one season with Georgia in 2024.

The Panthers described Etienne as a "proven winner" in a social media post shortly after drafting the Georgia running back.
What makes Etienne a proven winner? Well, Etienne saved the top moment of his Georgia career for the clutch. Etienne scored the game-winning touchdown against the Texas Longhorns in overtime of the SEC championship.
Etienne played very well in two separate games against a stacked Texas defense (Etienne had a combined 35 carries for 181 yards and five rushing touchdowns). He helped Georgia earn the No. 2 seed in the College Football Playoff. Etienne and the Georgia rushing attack was effective against Texas even though star Georgia quarterback Carson Beck went down with an elbow injury and missed all but one snap (he handed the ball off to Etienne for the game-winning touchdown) after halftime.

In 2024 with Georgia, Etienne ran for 600 yards and nine touchdowns on 122 carries. He added 32 receptions for 194 yards and no touchdowns as a receiver.

She averaged 19.2 points and a WNBA-leading 8.4 assists as a rookie. The Fever are also without guard Sophie Cunningham, who has been limited to four games by ankle injury. According to ESPN, the Football Power Index (FPI) "is a predictive rating system that estimates each FBS team's strength (in points per game relative to the national average) on offense, defense and special teams, making adjustments for starters lost, recruiting talent and other personnel changes. Those numbers are then plugged into the schedule, and everything is simulated 20,000 times to track each team's odds of winning its conference, making the playoff and advancing through to the national title." After the 20,000 simulations, the Longhorns are the No. 1 team in the nation. Texas has the top FPI rating at 28.5.
