Stolen motorbike recovered and €152k worth of drugs seized during major Garda op
A man has been arrested after Gardaí seized over €150,000 worth of drugs in a major search operation in Co Meath.
Gardaí attached to the Dublin Crime Response Team (DCRT) carried out a search operation at a commercial premises in Ratoath on Tuesday afternoon.
The search operation was conducted as part of a long-running investigation into the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Dublin Region.
During the course of the search, Gardaí recovered cannabis herb valued at €140,000 along with a stolen high-powered motorcycle. The drugs will now undergo analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).
Gardai also carried out a search at a residential premises in Navan, resulting in the recovery of cannabis herb, cocaine and ecstasy with a combined value of €12,000, subject to analysis.
A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested, and is being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Meath Garda station.
Commenting on the investigation, Assistant Commissioner Paul Cleary, Dublin Region (DMR) said: "This search operation in County Meath targeted a drug supply network into the Dublin Region.
"Dismantling and disrupting drug supply networks into the Dublin Region is a top priority. My teams are working in collaboration with colleagues in adjoining Garda Regions to ensure these supply networks are identified, disrupted and dismantled."

'Rogue' who sold fake Electric Picnic tickets to unsuspecting victim avoids jail
Sean Carroll (31) with an address at Tara Hill Crescent, Rathfarnham, Dublin 14, pleaded guilty in the District Court to theft contrary to section 4 of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act 2001. Judge Jonathan Dunphy noted that 'Henry Street seems to be full of people selling Longitude tickets'. He asked if the defendant understood how long the injured party would have had to save up for the tickets, only for the money to go to 'some rogue'. Judge Dunphy decided to increase the original sentence from six months to ten months, but fully suspended it for two years on the condition that Carroll keeps the peace and continues with his treatment. "If he comes back before me, I'll activate every second of that ten months," Judge Dunphy said.

Pedestrian, 20s, killed in early morning north Dublin collision

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the incident in the capital in the early hours of Saturday morning.
