Gardaí arrest man (30s) and woman (40s) after seizing 3D printed firearms, ammo and drugs

The woman, in her 40s and the man aged in his 30s, are being held in Garda stations in Co Clare. It follows an operation earlier today involving members of the Shannon Detective Unit, Divisional Drugs Units, Armed Support Unit and the Regional Dog Unit who carried out searches at four domestic residences in Co Clare. Two 3D printed firearms along with ammunition were seized. In addition, cocaine to the value of €18,400 and cannabis to the value of €200, a large volume of counterfeit clothing and a quantity of cash was seized. Earlier, on Tuesday, June 17, gardaí attached to the Tipperary Drugs Unit searched a domestic residence in South Tipperary. Two 3D printed firearms along with ammunition were seized alongside cocaine to the value of €2,500 and cannabis worth €1,000. A Garda spokesperson said the man and woman are currently being detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offenses Against the State Act 1939 and Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 respectively. Gardai said the firearms will be subject to further ballistic testing and forensic analysis, while the drugs will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.

Gardaí arrested the man (20s) following the search of a truck which contained approximately 36kg of suspect herbal cannabis. He is set to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning at 10.30am. In a statement, An Garda Síochána said the operation was led by Revenue's Customs Service and supported by gardaí from the North Central Divisional Drugs Unit. 'An Garda Síochána have arrested and charged a man following the seizure of €720,000 of cannabis at Dublin Port on Saturday, 26th April, 2025,' a spokesperson said. 'The operation, led by Revenue's Customs Service and supported by the An Garda Síochána Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR) North Central Divisional Drugs Unit, involved the search of a truck. During the search, approximately 36 kg of suspected herbal cannabis was seized, with an estimated street value of €720,000. 'A man in his 20s was arrested in connection with the seizure and detained at a Garda Station in the Dublin area under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996,' they continued. 'He has since been charged and is scheduled to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice (CCJ No.1) this morning, Monday, 28th April 2025, at approximately 10.30am.

A man in his 30s was arrested after gardaí seized €432,000 in cannabis plants between growhouses in Ballinasloe and Athlone. As part of an ongoing investigation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the region, gardaí in Co Galway conducted a planned search of a residential property in Ballinasloe on Friday. Advertisement During the course of this search, the Divisional Drugs Unit discovered a sophisticated growhouse operation within the premises and seized 160 suspected cannabis plants worth approximately €128,000 (pending further analysis). A man aged in his 30s was arrested at the scene and detained at a station in the Garda North Western Region under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. In a follow-up search, gardaí in Co Westmeath searched a residential property in Athlone and discovered another sophisticated growhouse, which contained a total of 381 cannabis plants, with an estimated value of €304,800 (subject to analysis). The man was subsequently charged to appear before a special sitting of Galway District Court on Sunday.

The man, aged in his 20s, has been detained at a Meath Garda station after the drugs worth a total of €152,000 were discovered by gardaí attached to the Dublin Crime Response Team (DCRT). Gardaí investigating the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Dublin region conducted a search operation in Co Meath yesterday afternoon. During the search of a commercial premises in Ratoath, they recovered cannabis herb valued at €140,000, which is subject to analysis, and a stolen, high powered motorcycle. A residential premises in Navan was also searched, and this resulted in the recovery of cannabis herb, cocaine and ecstasy with a combined value of €12,000, which is also subject to analysis. The man who was arrested is currently being detained under Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. Assistant Commissioner Paul Cleary of the DMR said the search operation in Co Meath had targeted a drug supply network into the Dublin region. 'Dismantling and disrupting drug supply networks into the Dublin region is a top priority,' he said. 'My teams are working in collaboration with colleagues in adjoining Garda regions to ensure these supply networks are identified, disrupted and dismantled. Gardaí added that investigations are ongoing.
