Powerwell accepts RM16.6mil switchboard orders for hyperscale data centre project
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the electrical products manufacturer said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Kejuruteraan Powerwell Sdn Bhd, received the POs from RYBE Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd, Protech Builders Sdn Bhd, and LFE Engineering Sdn Bhd.
Powerwell said the POs, accepted between April and July this year, are expected to be fulfilled by the first quarter of 2026.
"The POs are expected to contribute positively to Powerwell's consolidated earnings and net assets for the financial year ending March 31, 2026," it said.
Powerwell added that it does not foresee any exceptional risks apart from normal operational risks associated with POs and will take steps to mitigate these risks.
In a separate statement, Powerwell managing director Catherine Wong Yoke Yen said the orders reflected the group's technical capability in delivering data centre projects.
"We are delighted to have secured these orders, which reflect our strong technical expertise and proven track record, having completed numerous data centre projects for multinational corporations," she said.
Wong added that the company's outstanding order book as of end-March 2025 was about RM116 million, excluding the latest POs.

Pharmaniaga among most active counters on Bursa following new share listings
KUALA LUMPUR: Pharmaniaga Bhd emerged as one of the most actively traded counters on Bursa Malaysia today, with 103.4 million shares changing hands. At 10.40am, the stock rose 3.13 per cent or half a sen, to 16.5 sen, buoyed by its listing of new shares from two corporate exercises, a private placement and a rights issue, both of which were announced July 29 and took effect today. According to filings with Bursa Malaysia, Pharmaniaga issued 1.66 billion new ordinary shares through a private placement to third-party investors at an issue price of 13.5 sen per share. Bursa opens softer as investors eye 13MP, Fed signals pause
BURSA MALAYSIA opened slightly lower on Thursday as investors remained cautious ahead of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) announcement later today, and after the United States Federal Reserve (Fed) signalled a prolonged pause in interest rate cuts. At 9.12 am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) eased 2.30 points, or 0.15 per cent, to 1,522.20 from Wednesday's close of 1,524.50. The benchmark index had opened 0.51 of a point firmer at 1,523.99. Market breadth was marginally positive, with 162 gainers outpacing 130 decliners. A total of 277 counters were unchanged, 1,926 untraded, and 53 suspended. Turnover stood at 198.38 million shares worth RM78.92 million. Rakuten Trade Sdn Bhd vice-president of equity research Thong Pak Leng said investors were awaiting the 13MP announcement this afternoon, though its immediate market impact could be limited given its long-term fiscal reform focus. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to table the 13MP in the Dewan Rakyat today. The five-year development blueprint will chart the nation's economic direction from 2026 to 2030. Thong added that sentiment was also weighed by Wall Street's mixed overnight performance, following the Fed's decision to keep rates unchanged as it continues to assess the impact of US tariffs. 'The FBM KLCI remained lacklustre, moving within a narrow range before ending marginally higher. With no clear catalysts, we expect the index to trend between the 1,520 and 1,530 range today,' he told Bernama.
