Kanye West lists properties as he's ‘desperate for money'
According to The US Sun, the controversial rapper is selling both his burned-down church building in the San Fernando Valley and his derelict ranch in Calabasas.
The 48-year-old Grammy winner, who goes by Ye, may be desperate for cash after his career took a nosedive due to his wild behaviour.
Sources say the musician's spending is out of control, and his Yeezy business has ground to a halt.
Despite claims he's a billionaire, insiders alleged this is far from the truth, and he has pending lawsuits and tax debt piling up, as previously reported by The US Sun.
Last month, he put his upscale Calabasas condo on the market for $2.95 million ($A4.52 million) as he faces over $US60,000 ($A91,000) in unpaid property taxes tied to the home.
He was given the property in his divorce from Kim Kardashian, which was finalised in November 2022.
Kanye's $53m deal to save Censori marriage
Now, listings show he is trying to offload two more of his Los Angeles properties.
The rapper's rundown church building in Northridge, north of the city, went up in flames in October 2024 after it was left to rot, and officials suspected arson.
Neighbours previously warned of squatters at the building and were worried about Kanye not looking after it.
The fire burned the residence to the ground, and all that remains is torched grass after the site was cleared and cordoned off with tape.
Ye has now put the land up for sale for $US1.5 million ($A2.2 million), the same price it was bought for in 2023.
The lot is behind Cornerstone Christian Church, where he became close to former pastor Ron Nagin, while hosting his Sunday Service events at various venues.
It was previously reported that 12,000 people signed a petition pleading for Nagin to turn him away, as Ye was interested in leasing space at the church.
While a church source claimed that there was no way it would ever sell to Kanye after his anti-Semitic rants, they'd already quietly sold him property on its estate.
The deal was done on January 30 2023 to The Blue Spruce Trust, whose trustee is Ye.
The Yeezy founder is also selling his Calabasas ranch, once a base for his failed Christian private school, Donda Academy.
The gated property features two dwellings, a workshop barn, and is accessed via a private bridge, according to the listing.
The main house boasts four bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms.
Photographs obtained by The US Sun show it has been partly demolished and requires restoration work after Kanye tore it apart like many of his other residences.
The property comes with an adjoining lot of just over an acre, where a new buyer could build or put in a pool or tennis court.
HOTEL LIVING
It is said to be the perfect listing for a 'country living equestrian buyer, who appreciates the outdoors and peaceful tranquillity of the serene Calabasas mountains.'
Ye also owns an abandoned ranch in Wyoming and a derelict $US6.7 million ($A10.2 million) Yeezy Headquarters in West Hollywood, which he gutted and had the roof torn off.
His three properties going on the market are yet another sign Kanye might be tightening his belt.
The hit maker was recently pictured arriving at LAX and standing in line for security ahead of a commercial flight after previously flying on private jets.
The rapper and his second wife, Bianca Censori, took out loans to pay for a new $$US35 million ($A53 million) mansion in Beverly Hills late last year, which has a massive steel bridge and a security pavilion.
The spacious home has 11 bedrooms and 18 bathrooms and is situated in a gated community full of celebrities, including Adele.
Despite owning the lavish home, they have been spending more time living out of luxury hotels, according to sources.
They have been booking suites at the Four Seasons and Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles in recent months.
When they are not blowing through thousands of dollars in California, they are also living in style in hotels in Tokyo, Japan.
'BILLIONAIRE' STATUS
Earlier this year, Ye claimed he had an astronomical $US2.77 billion ($A4.3 billion) net worth. However, Forbes estimates it as a far more modest $US400m ($A612 million).
According to a note from the editor, the entrepreneur 'lost his lucrative multi-year deal to design sneaker brand Yeezy for Adidas', which was valued at $US1.5 billion ($A2.2 billion).
The outlet claimed that 'without it, West's fortune drops to $400 million'.
The publication states Ye's current fortune includes cash, real estate, the value of his music catalogue and a 5 per cent stake in his ex-wife Kim Kardashian's shapewear brand Skims.
It is understood the rapper owns around $US75 million ($A115 million) worth of property.
Over the past few years, the beleaguered star experienced a number of financial woes — including nearly filing for bankruptcy in 2022 after he was dropped by several brands like Gap and Balenciaga due to his antisemitic outbursts.
Ye has struggled to get his music career back on track in recent months after a string of bizarre stunts and rants on X about Nazis.
His account was deactivated in February following numerous warnings on the platform.

Lisa Wilkinson, Peter FitzSimons' Sydney home for sale for $23m
TV heavyweight Lisa Wilkinson and journalist husband Peter FitzSimons have listed their home of nearly 30 years up for sale for about $23 million after making the decision to downsize. The media power couple have owned the home in lower north shore suburb of Cremorne since 1998 when they paid just under $3 million for the five-bedroom house overlooking the Harbour. Known as Ingleneuk, the house was built in 1903 and is described in the listing as a 'magnificent example of superbly preserved Federation architecture'. A development application is currently in place for a new triple garage with interconnected studio accommodation and a new garden room. It's understood that the sprawling 3125 sqm estate had become surplus to the needs of the former Today show host and FitzSimons after their three children moved out. The impressive land size was the result of the couple adding two adjoining lots, which had been subdivided off the original 122-year-old estate – to return it to its original size and double street frontage. The house has a full-sized floodlit tennis court, heated pool and spa, cabana with a wet bar and landscaped grounds. It has been listed with BlackDiamondz agents Moniku Tu and Jad Khattar. A range of personalities have been reported to have visited the estate of the years, including Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, actor Simon Baker, Hugh Jackman and celebrity chef Nigella Lawson. Wilkinson and Wallaby turned author FitzSimons bought the Cremorne house after selling a previous Mosman home for about $1.66 million, records showed. The couple married in 1992.

Singer-songwriter G Flip opens up about love, haters, their new album and never losing their Aussie accent
When Australian singer-songwriter G Flip and American reality TV star wife Crishell Stause appeared together on the cover of American magazine US Weekly for its recent Pride edition, it was a both a statement of love and defiance. Since meeting at a Halloween party in 2021, going public with their relationship the following year on the fifth season of Stause's US reality TV juggernaut Selling Sunset and getting married in 2023 – the pair had their third annual vow renewal ceremony in Las Angeles last month – they had been subject to relentless bullying and trolling online. But the hate only brought them closer, as evidenced by some of the loved up songs on G Flip's coming third album, Dream Ride. 'Obviously when Crishell first announced that we were dating and going out, we got a lot of backlash from people who are maybe homophobic or didn't want to see her with someone who wasn't a man,' says G Flip, who identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns. 'And a lot of people that weren't happy with my gender identity being non-binary. But in saying that, that never made us feel weak. We're such a strong unit together. 'Those kind of things don't really faze us because if someone says that, we can't just stop loving each other and for me I can't not be non-binary. It's just not how it works. We just let those comments and those trolls just bugger off basically. They don't affect us.' Their only regret? They forgot to actually buy a copy of the magazine for the home they share in Los Angeles, where Melbourne-born G Flip – aka Georgia Flipo – is now based. 'We were very honoured to be asked to be on that cover,' G Flip says. 'But we both forgot to go buy it so we're trying to hunt down a copy.' As to whether Stause has been a muse for Dream Ride, the follow-up to G Flip's No. 1 album Drummer, which was also nominated for four ARIAS and won Triple J's 2023 Album of the Year, the multi-instrumentalist admits 'there's definitely some cute love themes in it'. 'There's a couple of love songs on this and a couple of songs that are maybe a little bit sexy,' G Flip says. 'The last song on the record, Let's Take This Show On the Road is definitely a love anthem. There's Disco Cowgirl, which is about falling in love going a bar in West Hollywood, which is very true to me and Crishell's relationship.' But if some of the loved-up themes were inspired by G Flip's wife – as well as 'loss and events that have happened in my life' – the sound of the album was influenced by the music their parents played when they were growing up in Melbourne. G Flip describes Dream Ride 'as very '80s driven, a lot of syths, a lot of big Phil Collins drum moments' and full of the big sax, keyboard and drum solos built up over years of touring. 'I had a lot of musical influences and my dad definitely played a lot of '80s music for me in the rock world – The Clash, The Cure, AC/DC. My mum loved Madonna and dad also loved Bruce Springsteen. The '80s was such a fun time and a very colourful era for music. I just really loved everything about it.' In support of the album, G Flip has also announced their biggest Australian tour ever, with arena dates around the country from next February. Having played at last year's televised New Year's Eve celebrations as well as to increasingly big crowds at festivals around the world, they say they are ready for the step up, even if 'it is a bit daunting'. 'I think all of these shows I've done in my past are just prepping me to take the next step and get to bigger shows,' G Flip says. 'Playing all these different stages, all these different venues, all these different places in the world, it's just made me grow and mature as a performer and an artist.' But best of all, the tour will give them a chance to spend time back home – even though G Flip has spent four years in America, the football fanatic says 'I'm very Aussie still'. 'I miss going to the MCG having a Carlton Draught and seeing all my cousins,' they say. 'I miss how good the food is here. I miss how you can drink tap water. I miss the air – it just feels clearer and nicer. There's so many things. 'My accent ain't going to change, my likes and dislikes. I'm still waking up at 2.35am on the weekend to watch Collingwood play. I definitely don't think I'm blending into American person at all.' G Flip has also converted Stause into an honorary Aussie – as well as a plethora of Pies regalia, she also has an MCG membership, even if it's never been used. 'She loves it down here,' G Flip confirms of Kentucky born and raised Stause. 'She obviously loves all my family and my friends. She loves the food. She loves the wine. She loves the safe atmosphere and how lovely it is and the culture of Australians. She's from down south in the USA and I feel like people from down south in the US get along well with Aussies.' G Flip, now 31, reflects fondly on their childhood growing up in Melbourne with a supportive family and 'amazing music teachers', even if they felt they would be 'ostracised' if they came out with their sexuality or gender identity at their Catholic primary and high school. And thankfully, they say, attitudes are changing in Australia. 'But besides, hiding my true self, I actually really loved playing music, going up in the band scene in Melbourne and playing at all the dive bars and all the little places round Melbourne, lugging my drum kit in the back of mum's car and playing shows since I was 14,' G Flip says. 'I think there's still a lot of work to do and a lot of people need to be educated on gender identity and gender fluidity and what it means to be non-binary, but every second that the clock's going, I think more people are understanding and learning. 'Even for my own family, my parents really struggled with my pronouns at the start, but they've learnt and they're getting really good at it now. It just takes a little bit of time sometimes for some people.' Dream Ride is out September 5.
