Maro Itoje ruled out of Lions third Test amid physical contest against Australia
The Lions captain was taken to see the medical officer towards the end of the first-half amid pouring rain and big collisions in Sydney.
But the news came as the half-time whistle went that Itoje had failed his check, with Ollie Chessum replacing him. Hooker Dan Sheehan replaces Itoje as skipper.
Lions wing Tommy Freeman, replaced by Owen Farrell due to a bloody nose, will also not take any further part in the Test match.
Itoje was one of four players to have played every minute of the Test series for the Lions, so his absence will come as a huge blow as the Lions look to come back from 8-0 down at half-time.
Australia fly-half Tom Lynagh also failed a HIA late in the first-half, amid a physical contest in the final match on the 2025 tour.
The British and Irish Lions are chasing a 3-0 whitewash while Australia are playing for pride, as they build towards the Rugby Championship in two weeks' time.

Manchester United fans announce opening day protest against Jim Ratcliffe
A Manchester United supporters' group has announced a fresh protest against the Glazer family and, for the first time, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, ahead of their Premier League opener against Arsenal. The 1958, a fan collective, will march to Old Trafford on 17 August. They will carry banners reading 'Jim Can't Fix This'. Ratcliffe, who acquired a 28.94 per cent stake and took day-to-day operational control from the Glazers in February 2024, has overseen wide, often unpopular, changes. The group has previously . 'It's a new season but the same old ownership issues. Twenty years of the Glazers and their debt mountain is 20 years too long. Enough is enough,' a spokesman for The 1958 said. 'We won't allow some natural optimism and a couple of shiny new signings to deflect from the bigger off-field picture. 'Jim Ratcliffe chose to get into bed with the Glazers and in our opinion is helping keep them in charge.' The spokesman said Ratcliffe had once been seen as 'a possible saviour, a beacon of hope', but had since been revealed as 'complicit in the ongoing erosion of everything that makes our club what it is'. 'This is no longer just about ownership; this is about survival – the survival of our identity, our community, and our values.' Ratcliffe suggested in March that he would walk away from United if he ever suffered abuse on the level of that directed at the Glazer family. 'It can be unpleasant,' Ratcliffe said in the Times. 'And I've probably failed on the having fun front. 'I can put up with it for a while. I don't mind being unpopular because I get that nobody likes seeing Manchester United down where they are, and nobody likes the decisions we're having to make. 'Eventually, if it reached the extent that the Glazer family have been abused, then I'd have to say, 'look, that's enough guys, let somebody else do this'.' United finished 15th in the Premier League last season – their lowest top-flight finish since 1974 – and missed out on European qualification after losing the Europa League final to Tottenham.

Tom Brady's Birmingham on verge of sealing £2million transfer for striker with NFL legend personally pushing deal
BIRMINGHAM are closing in on the signing of Werder Bremen star Marvin Ducksch, according to reports. The Blues have had a busy transfer window as they prepare for life back in the Championship. 2 2 And with the new season just days away they are close to signing a new striker - Ducksch. Birmingham have agreed a fee with Werder Bremen worth £1.7m, according to Florian Plettenberg. The two clubs only have to iron out the finer details of the transfer before it is confirmed. Ducksch, 31, has agreed personal terms on a three-year contract. The report adds that Birmingham minority owner Tom Brady was pushing to complete the deal following the sale of forward Alfie May. Brady has been in the limelight following the release of the Prime Video documentary 'Built in Birmingham: Brady & The Blues'. In the first episode Brady is seen discussing his plans with former Birmingham manager Wayne Rooney, whom he later raises a concern about. Rooney is branded 'lackadaisical' by the NFL legend's business manager Ben Rawitz. And Brady says of the former England captain: 'I'm a little worried about our head coach's work ethic.' Rooney proved a disaster in his time at Birmingham between October 2023 and January 2024. He was sacked after winning just two of his 15 Championship games in charge which saw the club plummet from sixth to 20th and they never recovered, crashing into League One.

Premier League and EFL outright accumulator tips
The EFL kicked off last weekend, but there is still time for punters to get behind a season outright accumulator, featuring selections from the Premier League, Championship, League One and League Two. The third and fourth tiers opened last weekend, giving a little insight into how teams could perform, but there is a long way to go and there is still plenty of value to be found in the outright betting. Our expert tipster has assembled an outright accumulator for the four English leagues, paying 28.7/1 with William Hill. Want to explore a vast array of online bookmakers? Check out the UK's best free bets and betting sites English four-league accumulator 2025-26 tips Premier League – Leeds United to stay up @ 4/5 with William Hill Championship – Ipswich Town to be promoted @ 11/10 with William Hill League One – Stockport County to be promoted @ 2/1 with William Hill League Two – Chesterfield top-three finish @ 7/4 with William Hill Accumulator odds: 28.7/1 with William Hill A £1 bet on this accumulator would pay out £29.70. Check out more LiveScore Bet and talkSPORT BET welcome offers. Leeds can buck the yo-yo trend Keep it simple with the Premier League leg of this accumulator and back Leeds to avoid relegation at 4/5. For the past two seasons, the three clubs promoted from the Championship have all gone straight back down. But Daniel Farke's side should be better prepared for a return to the top flight, having accumulated 100 points to win the Championship title last term and 90 the season before. They have kept hold of last term's top goalscorer Joel Piroe and added quality to the squad with the signings of highly rated defender Jaka Bijol, Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff and former Wolfsburg forward Lukas Nmecha. Their free-flowing, attacking football could hurt any team in the division and there should be at least three teams who finish below them in 2025-26. Four-league acca leg 1: Premier League – Leeds United to stay up @ 4/5 with William Hill Tractor Boys on the road to promotion I put Ipswich Town to win the league in my Championship season preview, but for the accumulator they make enough appeal to simply be promoted at 11/10. Crucially, Kieran McKenna, who has previously led the Tractor Boys to successive promotions, is still in charge and they have kept the bulk of their squad, which is littered with Championship experience. Azor Matusiwa could be a top signing from Rennes and they have enough quality in attack with the likes of Sammie Szmodics, Wes Burns, Conor Chaplin and George Hirst among others, to compensate for the loss of Liam Delap. Four-league acca leg 2: Championship – Ipswich Town to be promoted @ 11/10 with William Hill Stockport can atone for play-off upset Dave Challinor's Stockport County looked like a wise pick to go up from League One this season and, after one match, it is so far, so good for the Hatters. Stockport dug deep to win 2-0 at home to Bolton on Sunday, with summer signing Malik Mothersille opening the scoring. He is one of several smart signings made by the club in this transfer window. They have also drafted in Nathan Lowe, who was prolific during his spell in League Two with Walsall last term, on loan, along with defenders Tayo Edun and Joseph Olowu on permanent deals. Stockport accrued 87 points to finish third behind strong Birmingham City and Wrexham sides last season only to lose in the play-offs, but they should go a step further this time. Four-league acca leg 3: League One – Stockport County to be promoted @ 2/1 with William Hill Chesterfield ready to make top three Chesterfield are another EFL club fancied for promotion who got off to a winning start at the weekend, beating Barrow 1-0 at the SMH Group Stadium. They secured a League Two play-off berth last season despite injuries halting their progress around the Christmas period and they have the squad to push for automatic promotion this term. Dilan Markanday looks like a great addition from Blackburn Rovers and scored at the weekend, while Lee Bonis adds to attacking options such as Liam Mandeville, Will Grigg and Armando Dobra. Complete the outright acca with Chesterfield to make the top three in League Two at 7/4.
