Brit ‘sexually assaulted' by Magaluf cab driver who abandoned her at airport & told her ‘this is how it's done in Spain'

The Sun30-06-2025
A BRIT tourist was allegedly sexually assaulted by a cabbie in Magaluf who is said to have abandoned her at the airport.
Spanish prosecutors allege the taxi driver, 28, "took advantage" of the British tourist, 33, who was reportedly drunk - before telling her "this is how it's done in Spain".

Indian-born Ranjit Singh was last night warned he faces up to three years in jail if convicted after being charged with sexually assaulting the tourist.
One pal of the Brit tourists said they called for a taxi to get her back to the hotel because she had been drinking heavily in Punta Ballena, a party strip in the holiday hotspot.
But the 'rogue driver' allegedly switched routes and took her to Palma airport instead after telling her to pay £42 upfront.
He is then thought to have asked the Brit woman to move to the front passenger seat before allegedly touching her inappropriately.
The alleged case, which reportedly took place in 2023, is now set to go to court.
It is understood that public prosecutors will also demand £6,000 in compensation if Mr Singh is found guilty.
A three-page pre-trial indictment submitted by public prosecutors states 'The friend told the accused where he should take her.
'A few metres into the journey, the accused stopped the vehicle and told the British woman she should pay EUROS 50 for the fare upfront and move from the back to sit beside him in the passenger seat.
'She followed his instructions, paying with a card.
'Following on from that, the accused, taking advantage of an inebriated woman who was alone in a place she didn't know, changed the agreed route and took the motorway towards the airport.
'On the way, with lascivious and lustful intent, he touched her breasts and her groin over her clothes and tried to kiss her.
'When they reached the airport, he told her to get out and said, 'This is how things are done in Spain so get used to it.'"
Public prosecutors say the Brit woman has needed counselling for 'severe anxiety and depression' after going through the alleged incident.
The indictment added: 'The main problem is the traumatic flashbacks.'
It is not yet clear how the accused cabbie will plead when the case gets to court. A date for the trial has yet to be set.
It comes after two Brits were arrested last month on suspicion of raping a teen tourist from the UK at their rented Costa del Sol villa.
The 19-year-old's friends found her unconscious in a bathroom at the property in Marbella.
The alleged sex attack took place after a group of young Brit women met the men - also from the UK - at a nightclub.
They had agreed to go back to the villa they had rented for their holiday to continue partying.
But the women found their friend 'unconscious' in the bathroom, according to local reports.
She is said to have been drinking heavily before being found, and officials have not yet said if they believe her drinks could have been spiked.
One of the suspects, described locally as a 23-year-old UK national, was at the scene of the alleged sex attack.
Another, a 27-year-old male who is also British, was reportedly held hours later at a Marbella nightclub after cops were given a description matching his by the alleged victim.

Pakistani asylum seeker appears in court accused of raping eight-year-old girl and subjecting her to multiple sex attacks

A Pakistani asylum seeker has appeared in court after being accused of repeatedly raping an eight-year-old girl. It is alleged that Kamran Khan, 43, raped the child twice between September 2024 and July 2025 before forcing her to watch a third person engage in sexual activity. He got the eight-year-old to masturbate him until he ejaculated and also put his hand and penis on her vagina, it is claimed. Khan, of Streatham High Road, south London, denied the two counts of rape at Inner London Crown Court, alleged to have taken place in the borough of Lambeth. He further denied two counts of causing a child to watch a sex act, four counts of sexually assaulting a child and two counts of causing a child under thirteen to engage in sexual activity. The accused held his head in his hands as he entered his not guilty pleas, aided by an Urdu interpreter. He was remanded in custody ahead of his seven day trial on January 5 next year. Judge Benedict Kelleher told Khan: 'Failing to attend court when required whether from custody or from bail may be a separate offence. 'If a defendant fails to attend their trial then the trial may proceed in his absence in which case his lawyer may withdraw from the case leaving him unrepresented and the judge may inform the jury of the reason for his absence.'

'Intimacy and trust' NOS, which began in 1986, was initially celebrated by Church of England leaders for its nightclub-style services which incorporated live music and multimedia and attracted hundreds of young people to its Brain said the environment in the NOS was less like a church house and "much more like a group of musicians living together".The defendant said he had built up "intimacy and trust" with church members over a long period of time, but said he was not the "kind of guy to try it on"."It's not part of my character or my belief system."Mr Simkin told the court Mr Brain admitted to having relations with members of his congregation in a BBC documentary in November defendant said he was "in a state of complete overwhelmed trauma" at the time of the admission and had "needed to be really open and accountable for what I had done".He said he had resigned from his priesthood in the same month "because the hassle at the time (and) the press intrusion had pretty much devastated my life".Mr Brain rejected testimonies from people who said he had tried to control people's clothing, weight and relationships."The intensity of what we did tended to draw people in," he Tim Clark KC, cross-examining, put it to Mr Brain that he spoke "psychobabble" to get his own sexual gratification."No," the defendant defendant told jurors he felt he had used his position of trust "to the best effect I could at the time" and denied abusing any trust placed in trial reporting by PA Media. Iranian man who raped girl, 13, in an alleyway is jailed for just SEVEN years - because the judge didn't think he was a 'dangerous person'

The shadow home secretary has branded a seven-year jail term for an Iranian who raped a 13-year-old schoolgirl in an alleyway a 'disgrace.' The judge who sentenced Sorosh Amini, 21, said he did not consider the rapist to be a 'dangerous person.' And he concluded that the terrified victim did not suffer 'severe' psychological harm. Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp, who was also policing minister under the previous Government, told the Sun: 'Amini violently attacked a 13-year old girl in broad daylight in Croydon town centre. 'For the judge to give a lower sentence because she 'allegedly didn't suffer severe trauma as a result' is a disgrace.' Amini approached the girl outside the Whitgift shopping centre in Croydon, south London, on August 4 last year, following her and repeatedly trying to engage her in conversation. He tried to make her smoke cannabis with him, told her his friend had recently stabbed someone in the area, put his arm round her then led her down an alleyway. The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said she thought he may have been carrying a knife, adding: 'He had his hand on my face. 'He held me and his grip was really, really strong and I couldn't get away. 'But he held me from my back and my waist and he held me there. And so, obviously, I couldn't even stop it.' Amini then forced the girl to kiss him before raping her in the alleyway. He was convicted of rape and sexual assault at Croydon Crown Court in June. The Scotland Yard officer who led the investigation, detective inspector Donnett Oseni, described Amini as a 'dangerous sexual offender.' 'Amini's attack on this vulnerable girl was predatory and calculated,' she said. 'He has demonstrated himself to be a dangerous sexual offender and this sentence prevents him from harming anyone else.' But the judge who sentenced him, Judge Antony Hyams-Parish, disagreed. In his sentencing remarks, he said: 'I have considered whether you are a dangerous person which would allow me to pass an extended sentence. 'However, I do not think there is sufficient evidence before me to be satisfied that you meet the criteria to be considered a dangerous person.' Judge Hyams-Parish also said that though there was no doubt that Amini's attack caused some psychological harm to the victim, it fell short of 'severe psychological harm.' This did not affect the categorisation of his offending, the judge added. The judge handed down a seven-year sentence for the rape, and one year for the sexual assault, to run concurrently. Amini will serve at least two-thirds of the sentence before being released on licence.
