Nilüfer Yanya Announces New EP Dancing Shoes, Reveals New Song 'Where to Look': Stream
The post Nilüfer Yanya Announces New EP Dancing Shoes, Reveals New Song 'Where to Look': Stream appeared first on Consequence.
Nilüfer Yanya is back to announce a new EP, Dancing Shoes, set for release on July 2nd. She's also unveiled the new song 'Where to Look.'
Dancing Shoes follows Yanya's 2024 album, My Method Actor, which we deemed one of the best releases of the year. Comprised of four new tracks, Dancing Shoes was written and produced with Yanya's close collaborator Wilma Archer during and in between tour dates supporting My Method Actor. The EP also features 'Cold Heart,' which arrived last month.

Reprising her raw, spellbinding guitar work and considered attention to mood and atmosphere, 'Where to Look' has all the touchstones of Yanya's dynamic indie rock sound. The song really begins to lift off in the second chorus, where Yanya's guitar stumbles into a wall of fuzzy reverb and provides more power and emotion behind her croons. While the EP it's on is called Dancing Shoes, 'Where to Look' isn't exactly dancefloor-friendly, instead boasting a more introspective tone. Stream the track below.
Yanya has a busy 2025 ahead of her; in addition to a busy summer performing at festivals like Glastonbury and London's All Points East, she'll return to North America for a lengthy stretch of shows opening for Alex G. She'll then head back to Europe for a handful of dates opening for Lorde. See her full list of tour dates below, and get tickets to see Nilüfer Yanya here.

Kneecap to Perform at 2025 Glastonbury Festival Despite Calls to Drop Band
The controversial Belfast rap band Kneecap will still appear at the 2025 Glastonbury music festival in the U.K., organizers announced Tuesday. Kneecap keeping its Glastonbury billing by performing on the West Holts Stage on June 28 follows political pressure to drop the band after one of its members, Liam Óg Ó Hannaidh, was charged with a terror offense in the U.K. after an incident on Nov. 21 at a venue in north London. Ó Dochartaigh, has drawn widespread criticism and the attention of the Metropolitan Police after online videos showed the band allegedly calling for the death of British parliament ministers, as well as chanting 'up Hamas, up Hezbollah.' It is illegal in the U.K. to express support for Hezbollah as it is considered a terrorist organization in Britain. And in April, Kneecap displayed political messages about the ongoing war in Gaza during the group's Coachella set, after which a number of Kneecap concerts in Germany were canceled. Kneecap, responding to the criticism, apologized to the families of murdered members of Parliament and claimed they have faced 'deliberate distortions and falsehoods.' The band also denied they have ever supported Hamas or Hezbollah. While Glastonbury has retained Kneecap on their billing, the band was dropped from Scotland's TRNSMT festival for a July 11 concert over police concerns for safety. 'Due to concerns expressed by the Police about safety at the event, Kneecap can no longer perform at TRNSMT,' the rap group said on X. Kneecap also announced a replacement concert at the O2 Academy in Glasgow for July 8, which has already sold out. Vodafone launches updated Glastonbury app as it boosts festival network capacity
Vodafone has launched the 2025 version of its Glastonbury app including new features. Updates for the music lovers attending this year's event, headlined by The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo, include live location sharing on the Glastonbury map, and step count tracking so Festival-goers can compare to see who covered the most ground. Last year the app was downloaded 226,215 times by ticket holders visiting Worthy Farm or watching at home. Vodafone said its network capacity at the festival, which opens on Wednesday, will be its highest ever after data consumption hit more than 225 terabytes last year Other updates include automatic updates to shared line-ups helping Festival-goers spot who their friends are seeing and allowing them to plan their day accordingly; the ability to shortlist acts via 'Add to Favourites', helping fans distinguish between their locked line-up and their top considerations at one quick glance; and a new map search feature, making it easier to navigate Worthy Farm Maria Koutsoudakis, Chief Brand Officer, Vodafone UK, said: 'We know the app plays a big role in the Festival experience so, this year, we have gone even further to ensure that fans can connect with their friends or family and get as much out of Glastonbury as possible. 'Combined with us delivering the most Vodafone network capacity ever on-site, these new features will help festival goers always be connected no matter where they are across the site. 'We're delighted to be able to use these features to reward both fans and communities across the UK, by tying the new step count feature to our campaign. Social impact is a key part of Glastonbury's ethos as a Festival, and we're proud to be able to play our part in that.'

Music legend hit with flu and ordered to rest by doctor weeks ahead of Glastonbury set
Sir Rod Stewart has been "ordered" to "rest" after being struck with the flu ahead of his Glastonbury set. The 80-year-old music legend caused concern after he was placed on vocal rest amid his 'One Last Time Tour'. He was then forced to postpone his Las Vegas residency show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Sunday (01.06.25) "due to illness". The 'Maggie May' hitmaker has now confirmed he has the flu and has cancelled another show at the venue on June 5. His latest statement read: "I'm awfully sorry to have to cancel my show on June 5th at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. "My doctor ordered a bit more rest while I recover from the flu. Thanks for your love and understanding." The June 1 concert received the new date of June 10. He said in a social media statement: "I am sorry to inform you that I'm not feeling well and my show tonight at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is being rescheduled to June 10. Your tickets will be valid for the new date." In a matter of weeks (29.06.25), the rock star is due to play the Sunday afternoon legends slot at the world-famous music festival in Somerset, south west England. Last month, Rod was seen with a sign around his neck informing anyone he came into contact with that he could not speak after his concert at Milan's Unipol Forum. It read: 'Sorry. Cannot talk. Having vocal rest.' He returned to the stage at the MEO Arena in Lisbon, Portugal, three days later on May 13. The music veteran will be done with "large-scale world tours" once he finishes this year's shows in Europe and North America. However, he has no plans to retire. The 'You Wear It Well' singer wrote on Instagram: "This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire. "I love what I do, and I do what I love."I'm fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 metres in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79."I'd like to move onto a Great American Songbook, Swing Fever tour the year after next – smaller venues and more intimacy. But then again, I may not..."
