LeBron James, Nikola Jokic Teaming Up? Superstars Looking To Set Up New Global Basketball League: Report
LeBron and Jokic's agent were seen in France, indiscussions with James' agent, Maverick Carter.
NBA icons LeBron James and Nikola Jokic recently made headlines after being spotted together in France, fueling speculation about a potential collaboration.
While fans may have dreamed of an on-court partnership between the Los Angeles Lakers forward and the Denver Nuggets center, the meeting was not about joining forces in the NBA.
Instead, it was reportedly tied to discussions surrounding a new global basketball initiative spearheaded by James' longtime business partner and agent, Maverick Carter.
According to a report by Front Office Sports, the gathering with Jokic's agent Misko Raznatovic, one of the most influential figures in European basketball, was linked to a potential international basketball league backed by Carter.
A Global League Backed by Powerful Stakeholders
Plans for the new league surfaced in a Bloomberg report published in January, which revealed that Carter was exploring the possibility of raising up to $5 billion to launch a global men's and women's basketball league. The concept would involve teams traveling together to play games in as many as eight international cities before moving on to the next destination—offering a touring model similar to Formula 1 or global concert tours.
NBA Eyes Expansion in Europe
The NBA itself appears to be keeping a close watch on global basketball developments. The league has expressed interest in establishing a satellite league in Europe—an idea that would mirror its growing efforts to globalize the game.
As part of this strategy, the NBA announced this week that the Memphis Grizzlies and Orlando Magic will play regular-season games in Berlin and London in January 2026, marking a continued push to expand its presence in Europe and engage international audiences.

IND Vs ENG: Why Is Chris Woakes Batting Left-Handed At The Oval?
Last Updated: Chris Woakes is a right-hander but he's going to bat left-handed at the Oval. Here's why. England all-rounder Chris Woakes has come out to bat at number 11 in the final Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy despite suffering from a serious shoulder injury. To help with the pain on the left side, he's going to bat left-handed, despite being a right-hander by trade. Woakes suffered the injury while fielding on the first day of the Test. He went chasing after a drive from Karun Nair at mid-off and landed awkwardly on his left. He was whincing in pain immediately after and had to be helped out of the ground by the physio. Later, he was seen wearing a sling. When wickets started to fall on Day 4 and again on Day 5, cameras panned onto him and he was ready in his whites. Woakes walked out to bat as Prasidh Krishna clean bowled Josh Tongue. 'With his left arm in a sling. Chris Woakes is coming out to bat. He is the best and bravest of us all ❤️" England cricket wrote in a post for him. Earlier, Joe Root had confirmed that Woakes was 'desperate' to help the team. 'I assume so. He is desperate to do what it takes. There is a lot of things that have to happen before that," Root told the press after the fourth day's play. 'He's all in, like the rest of us," Root added. It's been that kind of series where guys have had to put bodies on the line. Hopefully it doesn't come to that but he had some throw-downs in here at one point so he's ready if needed. It shows the character and the person that he is, that he's prepared to put his body on the line like that for England and hopefully he doesn't have to, but if it does, to get us across the line and win us an incredible series," he added. Charbagh To Get A Royal Upgrade, Here's What's Changing At Lucknow's Grand Station?
Last Updated: The new plan includes two major concourses - one measuring 120m x 115m for the Northern Railway zone, and the other 75m x 30m for the North Eastern Railway zone. The iconic Charbagh railway station in Lucknow, known for its royal Awadhi-British architecture and unique design that dulls the noise of trains, is all set to undergo a massive transformation. Built in 1926, this station is being reimagined as a world-class transit hub by 2026—without losing its heritage charm. What's Changing? As per TOI, the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) is leading the Rs 420 crore redevelopment plan, turning the station into a passenger-friendly space for over 1.4 lakh daily commuters. Two large concourses will be built – one measuring 120m x 115m for Northern Railway and the other 75m x 30m for North Eastern Railway. These are designed to handle up to 10,000 passengers during peak hours. There will be parking for 900 two-wheelers and 900 four-wheelers, dedicated drop-off zones, and better roads around the station. From cloakrooms and medical rooms to smart signage and baggage scanners, every detail is being planned for convenience. The current 9 platforms will increase to 11, all connected through the elevated concourse. Green features like rainwater harvesting, stormwater systems, and landscaped areas are part of the plan. Modern construction techniques will ensure speed, precision, and eco-friendliness. When Will It Be Ready? While the rear entry was initially expected by end-2025, it's now slated for May 2026 due to land and crowd challenges. Once that's done, the focus will shift to Charbagh's historic front façade. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
