Good governance campaign evoking good response: Mandipalli
On Saturday, the campaign was held in Gangadhara Nellore constituency, with participation from Ramprasad, energy minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar, Chittoor MP Daggumalla Prasad Rao, Gangadhara Nellore MLA V M Thomas and other local leaders and officials.
Speaking at a press conference during the event, minister Ramprasad stated that as part of election promises, the government launched the 'Super Six' initiative, ensuring the implementation of key welfare schemes, he said. The Chief Minister is committed to fulfilling the assurances made during the elections, he added.
Highlighting the government's support for mango farmers, Ramprasad noted that the yield of Totapuri mangoes increased significantly from 2.5 lakh metric tonnes last year to approximately 7 lakh metric tonnes this year. The government has backed mango growers by holding high-level meetings with farmers, processing unit owners, and traders from Chittoor, Tirupati, and Annamayya districts. He strongly condemned the recent attack on a journalist in Bangarupalem, calling it undemocratic and unacceptable. Minister Ravi Kumar reiterated the state government's commitment to supporting farmers at all times. He said that MLA Thomas had requested the establishment of 33/11 KV substations in Balaganganapalli, Gadanki, and Ramachenupalli in the Gangadhara Nellore constituency. The minister assured that proposals had been prepared and submitted, and steps would be taken to set up the substations.

Stree Shakti day one: 12 lakh women travel free in Andhra
VIJAYAWADA: The Stree Shakti scheme, providing free travel to women in RTC buses, launched on Friday by the coalition government, has become a grand success, with over 12 lakh women passengers travelling within 30 hours. According to sources, there was a tremendous response from all parts of the state for the free bus ride to women, one of the promises under the much-publicised Super Six. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the implementation of the scheme from time to time and issued necessary instructions to officials. Women saved up to Rs 5 crore by utilising the free travel in RTC buses on the very first day the scheme was rolled out. Initially, the RTC management did not permit free travel to women on buses running on ghat roads due to overload concerns. However, following the Chief Minister's directions, the RTC decided to extend the free ride to women on buses running on ghat roads.

CM Chandrababu Naidu launches Stree Shakti free travel scheme
VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu launched the Stree Shakti Scheme at Pandit Nehru Bus Station (PNBS) in Vijayawada on Friday, fulfilling another poll promise of free bus travel for women. Earlier, Naidu, along with Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan, HRD Minister Nara Lokesh, BJP State president PVN Madhav, and other leaders, travelled in an RTC bus with women from Undavalli village to Vijayawada city bus station, interacting with them along the way, and collecting feedback on government schemes and their impact on their lives. Addressing the women participating in the launching ceremony, Naidu expressed his happiness at fulfilling one of the TDP-led NDA government's flagship 'Super Six' promises on the occasion of Independence Day. He claimed that the scheme is aimed at boosting women's economic independence and dignity. 'This is my gift as an elder brother to every girl in the State. Now, every woman can travel anywhere in Andhra Pradesh without paying a single rupee. Whether it's for work, education, business, or visiting family, women can save their travel expenses,' he said. Naidu explained that 2.62 crore women in the State would benefit from zero-fare travel on 74% of the APSRTC fleet, covering various services regardless of distance. Zero fare tickets would be issued through POS machines for record purposes, and the RTC could claim 100% of the fare. The scheme would cost the government Rs 1,942 crore per annum. Naidu assured that measures were taken to avoid operational issues, including capacity expansion, better depot infrastructure, clean bus stations, GPS tracking for safety, and the introduction of 1,050 electric buses in 11 major cities under the PM-eBus Sewa Scheme.

Chandrababu Naidu strongly reacted to the recent water issues related to the Banakacharla project, where the Telangana government has been continuously raising objections. During his speech at the 79th Independence Day celebration held at the IGMC Stadium in Vijayawada, the CM said, 'When floods occur, if the upstream states release water, we, as the downstream state, bear the losses and difficulties. Why are there objections to using the same floodwater as the downstream state? We have to bear the flood, but how can we cope if we do not benefit from the floodwater?' He questioned the objections raised by the neighboring state, clarifying that the government decided to divert the river Godavari wastewater from Polavaram to Banakacherla to transform Rayalaseema into an agrarian region. People are getting double welfare now as our 'Super Six' is super hit: Naidu The CM assured that this project would not harm the water interests of any state and stressed that no one needs to worry. He also heavily criticized the previous YSRCP government's regime, alleging that the government that came to power in 2019 devastated the state for five years, destroyed the brand image of Andhra Pradesh, and weakened institutions. 'The state was pushed back by 30 years. They caused financial ruin with debts and arrears amounting to Rs 10 lakh crore. For those five years, there was no development. They didn't even fill the potholes on the roads. The more we dig, the more the debts, mistakes, and irregularities of the previous government come to light. Polavaram stalled. Amaravati came to a halt, and investors fled the state,' CM Chandrababu said.
