Everything you need to know about Utah Hockey Club vs. Pittsburgh Penguins matchup
Just as Utah Hockey Club fans were getting used to seeing their team win at home, a three-game road trip commenced. Now that they're back at home, they're ready to pick up where they left off.
The next opponent is the Pittsburgh Penguins. It's the final contest of a seven-game road trip that has not been kind to the Penguins. They're on a three-game losing streak, despite the fact that none of those opponents are playoff teams.
Utah hopes to extend that skid to four games.
The last time these two teams played, Utah walked away with a 6-1 win. Utah had goals from five different players, including a few who could use a confidence boost right now.
Jack McBain fits into that category. Barring any last-minute changes, he will get the chance to play center on Wednesday. He has played center most of his life, but has only been deployed on the wing this season until now. McBain started the season hot, but he's currently in a 12-game pointless drought.

Utah also found success on the power play the last time it played Pittsburgh. Its power play is worlds ahead of where it had been previous to that game, so if everything goes its way Utah will have even more success this time around.
The Penguins have as much star power as any team, but they're all much closer to the end of their respective careers than the beginning. The Hall of Fame will soon be four Penguins heavier, thanks to Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Erik Karlsson and (probably) Kris Letang.
Those four guys account for dozens of the NHL's individual awards, plus a number of team championships. Here's what they have, combined:
9 Stanley Cup rings
3 Hart Trophies (MVP)
2 Rocket Richard Trophies (most goals)
4 Art Ross Trophies (most points)
3 Norris Trophies (best defenseman)
3 Conn Smythe Trophies (playoff MVP)
4 Ted Lindsay Awards (MVP, as voted by the players)
1 Calder Trophy (rookie of the year)
2 Olympic gold medals
1 Olympic silver medal
1 World Cup of Hockey gold medal
3 World Championship gold medals
2 World Championship silver medals
5 World Championship bronze medals
Malkin left Saturday's game with a lower-body injury after playing just three minutes. He's considered week-to-week and will not play in Utah on Wednesday. As for the other three, Utah fans are in for a treat.
Utah HC sported new line combinations in practice on Tuesday.
Different lines:Keller - Cooley - SchmaltzMaccelli - Hayton - DoanCrouse - McBain - CarconeO'Brien - Stenlund - Bjugstad(Kerfoot is flipping between the 2nd and 3rd lines)Sergachev - MarinoCole - KesselringVälimäki - BortuzzoMäättä - DeSimoneIngramVejmelka#UtahHC

Head coach André Tourigny said he plans to use those lines against the Penguins on Wednesday. That likely means that Mikhail Sergachev will return to the lineup, though Tourigny said he's a game-time decision.
The game will be broadcast nationally on TNT and MAX. It starts at 7:30 p.m. MST. Tickets are available for as low as $10 for partial-view seats.

Fans React to Anthony Edwards Getting Adidas Cleats Before Noah Lyles
Fans React to Anthony Edwards Getting Adidas Cleats Before Noah Lyles originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Anthony Edwards continues to rise in popularity as one of the NBA's main attractions, thanks to his on-court performances. He and the Minnesota Timberwolves eliminated the Lakers and Warriors from the playoffs, with superstars LeBron James, Luka Doncic, Steph Curry, and Jimmy Butler forced to watch the other rounds from afar. Advertisement Edwards and his squad couldn't eliminate the Oklahoma City Thunder, but it seems that Minnesota will be a serious contender thanks to Ant-Man and his supporting cast members. And they could receive an upgrade by adding an impressive rookie via the NBA Draft or trading for Kevin Durant during the offseason. He's got a signature basketball shoe with Adidas with the Anthony Edwards 1 Low, and it's set to expand into another sport. An interesting development recently arrived with Ant's sneaker, as news hit that he and the shoe brand are dropping AE 1 football cleats next year. Advertisement The Nice Kicks X account dropped an early look at the upcoming shoe for the gridiron, and for those wondering, Edwards excelled at youth football in Georgia before switching his focus to hoops. Fan reactions to the AE 1 cleats have seemed mostly positive without knowing how well these shoes will work for football. That said, many individuals couldn't help but mention a fellow USA Olympic athlete. "Noah is not going to like this," a popular comment on the X post said. "Noah Lyles fuming somewhere rn," another X commenter wrote. "Now do it for track and field. I wanna see something real quick," one commenter said. Advertisement "How a NBA player got the best football cleats lol," someone asked in an X comment. Both Edwards and Lyles achieved gold at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. Ant's came from Team USA basketball, while Lyles won his in the men's 100 metres event. He's touted himself as a "six-time world champion." Earlier this month, former NFL star Cam Newton asked Lyles about the perceived beef or quarrel between him and Edwards. Last year, a video from The Guardian features Lyles calling out Team USA basketball as "world champions of what?" While talking with Newton on his podcast, the track and field star explained his contract situation with Adidas and how he previously expressed interest to them in having a signature shoe like Edwards does. Lyles told Newton that he requires spikes for running and Adidas makes 'some of the best in the world" so he likely wouldn't go with another brand despite his frustration with them. However, the popular shoe company hasn't released a line of signature track and field cleats for him. Edmonton grabs home ice and heads home in thrilling Stanley Cup Final tied 2-2 vs. Florida Panthers
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Corey Perry knew from his seat on the bench he wanted to say something. His Edmonton Oilers looked flat, outclassed by the defending champion Florida Panthers, and were in danger of a third consecutive loss in their Stanley Cup Final rematch that would have put them on the brink of losing once again. In the locker room at the first intermission, he offered some words of wisdom. 'It wasn't wisdom. It was just honesty,' Perry said Friday. 'Had to realize where we were at the moment and just kind of look ourselves in the mirror and how we were playing.' Everything flipped from there, with the Oilers erasing a three-goal deficit and bouncing back from losing the lead with 19.5 seconds left in regulation to win Game 4 and tie the series. This terrific fina l is now a best of three between two titans, experienced like Perry because so many involved have been here before and know how to be at their best when the stakes are the highest. 'There's a reason both teams are here," Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad said. "It's the hardest trophy to win, and both teams are resilient and strong and have some amazing players that can do some amazing things. It's going to take all of us. That's the message: Stay together and find a way to get it done.' Sometime in the next week, either Florida goes back to back or Connor McDavid hoists the Stanley Cup for the first time and ends Canada's NHL championship drought dating to 1993. These hardened opponents will play at least two more times, starting with Game 5 on Saturday night in Edmonton, putting on a spectacular display of the sport in the process. 'Oh, this is as good as this thing gets,' Panthers coach Paul Maurice said. 'This is Christmas. This is the payoff.' Maurice's team has played 312 regular-season and playoff games since he took over. The Oilers have played 303. Yet, somehow they are bringing some of their best hockey in June. It's something Maurice chalks up to excitement that builds energy knowing the end is near, and the Panthers, in their third consecutive final and the Oilers in their second, seem to thrive at this stage. '(It is) just the maturity of the team,' second-year Edmonton coach Kris Knoblauch said. 'We're an older team. There's been a lot of highs and lows that they've experienced.' Those highs and lows hit extremes on Thursday night when the Panthers built a 3-0 lead in the first period and the Oilers erased it in the second. They went back and forth again in the third before Leon Draisaitl scored his single-season, playoff-record fourth overtime goal. Florida is now all even with the team it beat in the final a year ago, knowing home-ice advantage again melted away. 'You kind of ride that wave,' winger Sam Reinhart said. 'It's an emotional grind. That's part of it. That makes it so sweet when you win it. So, we're in another battle, and we won't want it any other way. And now it's about recovering and going into Edmonton and trying to do what we can to win a Game 5 and bring it back here.' There will be a Game 6 on Tuesday night in Florida, along with the nerves and anticipation about one team being on the verge of completing a title journey. But players can't realistically think that way. 'I'm not looking longer or further than the next game,' Oilers defenseman Mattias Ekholm said. 'It's Game 5 now, and we all know that Game 5 is always a big, big game in the playoffs.' Thanks to a scheduling quirk, it also comes on a short turnaround, without an extra travel day for the teams to practice and shake off the cross-continental jet lag. Maurice said that's nothing new for his group, accustomed to it from the long season. They know there will be a jacked-up crowd waitin in Edmonton. "We know it's going to be a quick pace, and that building is very loud," Florida's Gustav Forsling said. 'It's going to be loud. It's going to be pressure on both teams.' ___

Wrestler Kyle Snyder pleads guilty to disorderly conduct
Kyle Snyder Wrestler Kyle Snyder pled guilty to disorderly conduct and was fined $250 on Monday after being arrested in a prostitution sting on May 10 in Columbus, Ohio. Snyder, a 2016 Olympic gold medalist, remains listed as temporarily suspended for "allegations of misconduct" by SafeSport. Advertisement SafeSport handles allegations of emotional, physical and sexual abuse in Olympic and Paralympic sports. Snyder was first suspended last Wednesday. He has since completed a john school course designed for men arrested for soliciting sex. 'I've learned a lot through this process. It's taught me a lot about myself, and I plan on making much better decisions," Snyder said while taking part virtually in a court hearing Monday. "I learned about why I made the decision that I did, which was because I had too much pride. I learned about the impact that these decisions have on not just my family but the community." In addition to his 2016 Olympic title, Snyder earned bronze at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and placed fifth in Paris last year. Advertisement In April, Snyder qualified for one of two 97kg spots at Final X, the June 14 event that determines the U.S. team for this September's World Championships. USA Wrestling has not announced whether Snyder will keep that spot, should his SafeSport suspension be lifted.
