Just as Utah Hockey Club fans were getting used to seeing their team win at home, a three-game road trip commenced. Now that they're back at home, they're ready to pick up where they left off.
The next opponent is the Pittsburgh Penguins. It's the final contest of a seven-game road trip that has not been kind to the Penguins. They're on a three-game losing streak, despite the fact that none of those opponents are playoff teams.
Utah hopes to extend that skid to four games.
The last time these two teams played, Utah walked away with a 6-1 win. Utah had goals from five different players, including a few who could use a confidence boost right now.
Jack McBain fits into that category. Barring any last-minute changes, he will get the chance to play center on Wednesday. He has played center most of his life, but has only been deployed on the wing this season until now. McBain started the season hot, but he's currently in a 12-game pointless drought.

Utah also found success on the power play the last time it played Pittsburgh. Its power play is worlds ahead of where it had been previous to that game, so if everything goes its way Utah will have even more success this time around.
The Penguins have as much star power as any team, but they're all much closer to the end of their respective careers than the beginning. The Hall of Fame will soon be four Penguins heavier, thanks to Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Erik Karlsson and (probably) Kris Letang.

Malkin left Saturday's game with a lower-body injury after playing just three minutes. He's considered week-to-week and will not play in Utah on Wednesday. As for the other three, Utah fans are in for a treat.
Utah HC sported new line combinations in practice on Tuesday.

Head coach André Tourigny said he plans to use those lines against the Penguins on Wednesday. That likely means that Mikhail Sergachev will return to the lineup, though Tourigny said he's a game-time decision.
The game will be broadcast nationally on TNT and MAX. It starts at 7:30 p.m. MST. Tickets are available for as low as $10 for partial-view seats.

Edmonton grabs home ice and heads home in thrilling Stanley Cup Final tied 2-2 vs. Florida Panthers
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Corey Perry knew from his seat on the bench he wanted to say something. His Edmonton Oilers looked flat, outclassed by the defending champion Florida Panthers, and were in danger of a third consecutive loss in their Stanley Cup Final rematch that would have put them on the brink of losing once again. In the locker room at the first intermission, he offered some words of wisdom. 'It wasn't wisdom. It was just honesty,' Perry said Friday. 'Had to realize where we were at the moment and just kind of look ourselves in the mirror and how we were playing.' Everything flipped from there, with the Oilers erasing a three-goal deficit and bouncing back from losing the lead with 19.5 seconds left in regulation to win Game 4 and tie the series. This terrific fina l is now a best of three between two titans, experienced like Perry because so many involved have been here before and know how to be at their best when the stakes are the highest. 'There's a reason both teams are here," Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad said. "It's the hardest trophy to win, and both teams are resilient and strong and have some amazing players that can do some amazing things. It's going to take all of us. And now it's about recovering and going into Edmonton and trying to do what we can to win a Game 5 and bring it back here.' There will be a Game 6 on Tuesday night in Florida, along with the nerves and anticipation about one team being on the verge of completing a title journey. But players can't realistically think that way. 'I'm not looking longer or further than the next game,' Oilers defenseman Mattias Ekholm said. 'It's Game 5 now, and we all know that Game 5 is always a big, big game in the playoffs.' Wrestler Kyle Snyder pleads guilty to disorderly conduct
Kyle Snyder Wrestler Kyle Snyder pled guilty to disorderly conduct and was fined $250 on Monday after being arrested in a prostitution sting on May 10 in Columbus, Ohio. Snyder, a 2016 Olympic gold medalist, remains listed as temporarily suspended for "allegations of misconduct" by SafeSport. Advertisement SafeSport handles allegations of emotional, physical and sexual abuse in Olympic and Paralympic sports. Snyder was first suspended last Wednesday. He has since completed a john school course designed for men arrested for soliciting sex. 'I've learned a lot through this process. It's taught me a lot about myself, and I plan on making much better decisions," Snyder said while taking part virtually in a court hearing Monday. "I learned about why I made the decision that I did, which was because I had too much pride. I learned about the impact that these decisions have on not just my family but the community." In addition to his 2016 Olympic title, Snyder earned bronze at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and placed fifth in Paris last year.
