Located on the top floor of the Capella development block, the ultra-modern spread boasts a garden terrace and stunning views of the surrounding cityscape.
Originally listed in May with a price guide of $1.8 million, the sale went ahead a day before it was scheduled for auction.
The Canberra-born athlete reportedly used the penthouse as his full-time Sydney residence.

His decision to sell comes amid personal changes, including his recent split with influencer Costeen Hatzi, 26,
The award-winning Capella complex features a heated outdoor pool, an on-site minimart, a sushi bar and a beer garden.
The apartment boasts a spacious open plan layout and large picture windows.
There's also a lavish en suite off the main bedroom, while the kitchen features a large breakfast bar.
Kyrgios' ex-girlfriend delivered a parting message to her tennis star ex after finally confirming the pair split.
Rumours had been bubbling away early this year for some months that the couple had broken up, with Kyrgios appearing to unfollow the social media star on Instagram.
The tennis star sparked rumours they had secretly split after he removed her initials from his Instagram bio.
Meanwhile, Hatzi shared multiple cryptic posts, uploading a TikTok in which she appeared to mouth the words: 'Who the f*** did I marry? So at this point in time, I have filed for divorce.'
She then confirmed the pair ended things on good terms, wishing the best for her ex-partner.
'I'm loving my work and doing content every day,' she told The Herald Sun.
'We haven't spoken, relationships come to an end. I believe it's for the best.
'I hope he finds peace and happiness within himself.
'I definitely entered the relationship with pure intentions. I loved him, thought we had a great connection.'
In recent weeks, Kyrgios appears to have been focusing on his own journey.
He publishes pictures on social media of himself training, attending brand events and enjoying some downtime with friends.
The pair began dating back in 2021.
They appeared head over heels for each other following their first meeting - which took place after he messaged Hatzi on social media about a mirror she was selling.
He went to her home to pick up the mirror but as she previously said: 'It was love at first sight.'
The pair became official in January 2022 and moved in together, with Hatzi regularly seen following her beau around the world as he competed on the ATP Tour.
After four years together, The Herald Sun revealed they split after a tournament in March, with Hatzi joking: 'Maybe I'll steer away from athletes.'

Waleed Aly doesn't look like this anymore! TV star reveals new VERY casual appearance as he's spotted for first time in weeks with rarely seen wife after losing job on The Project
Waleed Aly has been settling into some quiet family time after The Project was cancelled in June. The 47-year-old stepped out for a coffee date with his wife, Susan Carland, 45, in Melbourne on Thursday. Normally wearing neat suits, Waleed was instead dressed down in a loose, dark green hoodie. He added a pair of navy track pants and sneakers, and had let his facial hair grow out, with some stubble visible. Susan also opted for a casual look, including a blue puffer jacket over a pale blue jumper. She added loose blue track pants and sneakers, as well as wearing a traditional head covering and headphones. At one point, Susan got something in her eye, and Waleed did his best to help tend to her ailment. Eventually, he found the situation amusing, giggling at his wife as they continued to stroll along with their takeaway cups. Waleed recently told Stellar Magazine that while he had a little more notice than some, the cancellation of The Project still came as a sudden shock. 'I only knew for less than a week before it was public. So it was all fairly sudden,' he said. 'The hardest day was definitely the day it was announced – that's when you are in the room with all your colleagues. People that you've worked with, in some cases, for more than a decade.' While Aly admitted the situation isn't unique to the television industry, he said the emotional weight of the announcement was felt deeply - especially by his own family. 'That's what's added to the emotional weight of all this, because my kids grew up through this show,' he said. 'And talking to the kids about it was actually harder than I expected. It hit them in a way that I didn't quite anticipate.' Aly, who shares two children - Aisha, 22, and Zayd, 18 – with wife Susan, said returning to a regular home routine is a bittersweet adjustment. After years of missing family dinners due to his evening work schedule, he's preparing for a lifestyle shift that includes more cooking – and plenty of cleaning. 'I look forward to cooking more but it's scary contemplating the mountains of dishes I will have to get through. It's hard to see past them,' he said. Waleed married his television presenter and fellow academic Susan, who he first met aged 16, in 2002. Susan converted from Christianity to Sunni Islam in her late teens and has even authored a PhD paper on Muslim feminism. She previously revealed that she didn't expect to marry Waleed when they first met. 'I think maybe it was that I'd become Muslim so I was dealing with all those changes in my life, telling my family and friends, and I needed everyone to give me some space.' But despite her early reluctance to settle down, the pair soon began dating and now have a rock-solid marriage. 'The hardest day was definitely the day it was announced – that's when you are in the room with all your colleagues. People that you've worked with, in some cases, for more than a decade,' he said When Waleed was honoured at the 2016 Logie Awards, he paid a touching tribute to his wife in his acceptance speech. 'She's a huge source of support for me but she's so much more than that. [She's] a challenge, a provocation and an inspiration,' he said. 'It's a privilege to be able to share my life with you, so thank you very much.' In addition to his television career, Waleed lectures at Monash University in Melbourne. The former lawyer specialises in politics and international relations and even wrote a book in 2007 called People Like Us: How Arrogance Is Dividing Islam and the West.

How playing a Britney Spears hit song has landed an exclusive city nightclub beloved by celebs in VERY hot water
An exclusive Melbourne nightclub frequented by celebs and AFL players is being dragged through the courts for allegedly playing a Britney Spears song too loudly. The Emerson, a swanky hotel in the heart of South Yarra's party district, is being prosecuted by police for serving alcohol while music was louder than background levels. The rare charge alleges the busy venue played Britney's megahit 'Baby One More Time' too loudly in February last year. The Emerson denies the charge. The star-studded venue, described by one female regular as the 'place to go if you wanted to meet footballers', is an exclusive three-level bar catering for Melbourne's glamorous in-crowd. It has hosted international megastars including 50 Cent and Travis Scott, who both performed there. Other celebrities to attend the venue include Bianca Censori 's sister Angelina Censori, England cricket legend Kevin Pietersen and various AFL footballers including Bailey Smith, Isaac Quaynor and Rory Lobb. A Victoria Police officer told Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Wednesday how he and two partners entered the venue undercover about 10.50pm on February 10, 2024. State Liquor Unit acting-sergeant Joshua Carver told the court The Emerson was a 'well-known nightclub in South Yarra' which was popular with a 'younger crowd'. 'It's quite a busy place, it has levels one, two and three, it's very busy,' Sgt Carver said. Sgt Carver said he and his colleagues made their way up to level three where he told the court two bars were in operation serving alcohol and a DJ was pumping out tunes. The liquor officer said he 'believed' he and his colleagues purchased booze while they inspected the venue. Sgt Carver then said he detected the volume of the dance music was 'above background level'. 'We weren't able to talk to each other, we couldn't hear each other,' he told the court. 'We said "huh" and "I can't hear you", people were speaking with raised voices, I noticed people had to lean in to speak to each other.' Sgt Carver told the court some people were dancing and some were sitting down. The cop said he and his partners recorded a six-second video clip and a voice clip to 'gauge the volume of the venue'. Sgt Carver, who was a senior constable at the time of the incident, said he messaged his superior who arrived at the venue in uniform with another officer about 11.19pm. 'I saw a bunch of security guards scramble downstairs and I think that was due to police arriving,' Sgt Carver told the court. Sgt Carver said he saw the sergeant and his offsider go to level three, walk around and make 'observations'. He said he saw the uniformed police speaking to an Emerson staff member. Sgt Carver said CCTV vision of the night in question was played to the court, allegedly depicting a staff member turning the music down. Sgt Carver said he also saw the DJ making a hand gesture which he took to mean 'cut it off'. 'The last song that was playing before the music was turned down was hit me baby one more time a remix of a Britney Spears' song, a pop/dance version,' Sgt Carver said. 'That is the song that was playing when the music was turned down, the music was above background level with that song playing and it was then turned down when that song was playing.' Vision of a huge line to get into the heaving venue once owned by former AFL legends Glenn Archer and Leigh Colbert was shown to the court but Magistrate James Fitzgerald questioned the relevance. 'Is that Commercial Rd in South Yarra?' Magistrate Fitzgerald asked. 'I don't get out much.' Lawyers for The Emerson asked Sgt Carver if he obtained a copy of the 'red line plan' - a document which outlines where a licenced venue may serve alcohol. Sgt Carver, under cross-examination, said he had not, while also admitting he did not speak to any of the bar's patrons while he was at the venue. The court was also shown vision which depicted five people seated at a table beside the dancefloor who appeared to be having a conversation. The Emerson was owned at the time of the allegation by Melbourne nightclub supremo Tom Caw. Mr Caw was instrumental in securing international stars 50 Cent and Travis Scott to appear at his venue in 2023 and 2024. Kanye West's Melbourne sister-in-law Angelina Censori appeared at the Scott performance where Collingwood defender Isaac Quaynor and influencers Hannah Dal Sasso and Elle Ray also attended. The Emerson declined to comment through its lawyers when contacted by the Daily Mail. The venue has been in hot water before, and was fined $1000 after inspectors found the venue to be beyond maximum patron capacity in August 2023. The award-winning nightclub's 1434sqm floorspace has capacity for 675 guests and features a restaurant, cocktail bar and lounge, a VIP club and a rooftop bar. It also offers 'booth' packages which start at $2000 on Saturday nights. The prime site at 141-145 Commercial Rd was sold in 2019 for an undisclosed figure understood to be around the $11 million mark. The sale occurred while former North Melbourne teammates Archer and Colbert still owned The Emerson, which was launched in 2013 after a multimillion-dollar refurb. The contested hearing before Magistrate Fitzgerald was delayed due to legal argument and scheduling issues and will resume on August 28.
