Louis Munteanu transfer cover broken as Celtic told Balikwisha's private feelings amid 'ridiculous' left back offer

Cluj boss Dan Petrescu has branded Louis Munteanu "irreplaceable" following reports of a £6.9million bid from Celtic
The Scottish Premiership champions are keen to sign a striker despite the incoming arrivals of Shin Yamada - but Brendan Rodgers' declared the club would like to add even more firepower.
The Hoops have lost both Nicolas Kuhn to Como and Kyogo Furuhashi in the last six months - and Rodgers insists he needs to replaced the goals that have been lost since January.

And reports in Romania claim that the the Hoops have seen an offer of just under £6.9million booted out by the Transylvania based club - with the club holding out for a £15.5million.
Cluj owner Nelutu Varga told Sport Pesurse : "I have clearly said that Louis Munteanu will only leave if someone pays 18 million euros. I am not discussing anything else."
And Petrescu is keen to keep the frontman who netted 25 goals last term. He said: "Louis Munteanu will be almost irreplaceable. If we get a player who scores that many goals, it means we won the lottery."
Royal Antwerp wide man Michel-Ange Balikwisha is top of Celtic's list to replace the Kuhn after his move to Como
Sporting director Marc Overmars has declared that he will only sell the winger for the right price - but reports suggest that a deal could be done with the Belgian outfit in dire need of a financial boost.
Speaking to Off the Underside, Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph claimed that the wide man has given Celtic an "indication" he would like to join the club this summer after long-standing interest.
Celtic have also been credited with an interest in Manchester United misfit Tyrell Malacia as they search for a new left-back.
After Greg Taylor's departure, the boss is looking to add competition for Kieran Tierney. Celtic had shown interest in taking the Netherlands international on loan in January,
Reports suggest that after United need to sell him for £3.22million to avoid a loss under the profit and sustainability rules (PSR).
It is claimed the club willing to accept that lowball bid due to the lack of interest so far this summer - and former United striker Teddy Sheringham has branded the situation "ridiculous."
He told Sky Bet: 'It's very easy to spend money on players, but it's hard to recoup it.
'It seems quiet, but I bet there's lots going on behind the scenes at Manchester United. Other clubs know United's position.
'They've made it known that they're looking to sell around five players, which signals to other clubs to make them ridiculous offers.
'I would assume that's what football clubs are doing around Europe, and Manchester United are turning them down at the moment.
'The longer that goes on, I reckon those offers might be a little less ridiculous, but United want these players off the books – they've made their bed and they've got to lie in it.
'They'll probably take anything from a quarter to a fifth of their asking price for some of them.'

Fabrizio Romano rubber-stamps another Man United summer signing as ‘talented' player seals deal

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed another signing through the door for Manchester United in the form of sought-after centre-half Harley Emsden-James. The 'talented' new arrival has joined from Southampton after attracting widespread interest for his stellar performances. However, United were quick to snap up the talent and beat other clubs to his signature, with Technical Director Jason Wilcox's links to the Saints proving integral in the deal getting over the line. Emsden-James, 16, is an England youth international who'll be vying to claim a spot in the Red Devils' Under-18s once 2025/2026 gets underway. Harley Emsden-James will look to follow in Ayden Heaven's footsteps Emsden-James' switch from Southampton to United was made official on Tuesday. (Photo via Manchester United) INEOS are said to be doing their utmost to recruit younger prospects in a bid to reduce their need to consistently buy senior players year after year. Last winter, 18-year-old Ayden Heaven was brought in from Arsenal on a four-and-a-half-year deal, and went on to make his senior bow just two months later when he was called upon to replace the injured Harry Maguire in a 30-minute cameo against Fulham in the FA Cup. The former Gunner featured in a further five matches before the campaign drew to a close, making his Premier League debut on March 9 and his first European appearance in the Europa League last-16 at home to Real Sociedad. Barring an untimely injury setback, he'd have likely gained even more experience throughout his first term as a Red. United's quiet summer window continues In regards to first-team acquisitions, the United faithful are well aware it's been an uneventful window thus far. Matheus Cunha signed almost straight away, whilst it took the board over six weeks to negotiate an agreement for Bryan Mbeumo. INEOS are now actively scouring the market for a prolific goalscorer to lead Ruben Amorim's line. Dortmund could make an approach to United for Jadon Sancho

Borussia Dortmund is reportedly assessing their conditions and also discussing internally. By Ravi Kumar Jha Published on July 29, 2025, 18:44 IST Borussia Dortmund is reportedly assessing their conditions and also discussing internally on whether to make a bid for Jadon Sancho or not in this transfer window. Jadon Sancho has been left out of United's squad for the pre-season tour to give him time to find a new club for him. Dortmund is not sure about making an approach for the forward. United are asking €20 million for Sancho and Juventus also seem to be interested. The English winger, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Signal Iduna Park, has been left out of Manchester United's pre-season tour as the club looks to facilitate his departure. United are demanding around €20 million for Sancho, a fee that Dortmund are believed to be considering carefully as they evaluate their squad needs and financial flexibility. While the Bundesliga side is yet to make an official approach, they remain a potential destination given Sancho's successful past spell at the club. Juventus have also shown interest, which could spark competition for his signature. With Sancho seeking regular playing time away from Old Trafford, his future could become one of the key talking points in the remaining weeks of the transfer window.
