Naomi reflects on WWE walkout with Sasha Banks, hints at in-ring retirement
May 16, 2025, marked three years since Naomi and Sasha Banks - now AEW star Mercedes Moné, walked out of WWE in protest over the direction of the Women's Tag Team Division. Their exit, just minutes before Monday Night RAW went on air, stunned fans and caused a rare on-air statement from WWE. Now, Naomi has finally broken her silence on the infamous moment.
Taking to social media, the SmackDown star responded to a post commemorating the walkout anniversary. Quoting the image, she wrote: 'On this day caution was proceeded,' using the caution emoji, a nod to her current heel persona. The statement, cryptic but pointed, acknowledged the controversial event that changed the trajectory of both their careers.
Naomi discusses motherhood and health
While Naomi remains a featured performer on SmackDown, she recently admitted that her time in WWE may soon come to an end.

Speaking candidly about her personal life, the 37-year-old revealed she's seriously considering retirement due to health concerns and a long-held desire to start a family.
'I always wanted kids young. I always wanted a lot,' she said in an emotional statement. 'Even if I wanted to continue wrestling longer, my biological clock - I can't. I have only one ovary, and I've had health issues. We've got a lot to figure out.'
Naomi's comments come as she rides momentum from her 'Caution' gimmick - a darker, more calculated version of herself that emerged during her feud with Jade Cargill ahead of WrestleMania 41.
Where are they now?
Following the 2022 walkout, Naomi briefly joined TNA as Trinity, where she captured the Knockouts Championship. She returned to WWE in early 2024, entering the Women's Royal Rumble to a strong reception.
Mercedes Moné, meanwhile, took a different route. After stints in NJPW and Stardom, she officially signed with AEW in 2024 and continues to make waves in the promotion, most recently competing for the Owen Hart Cup.
Despite going in different directions, the anniversary post and fan reactions show that the moment still holds emotional weight - for the stars and their supporters alike.
As Naomi continues her current WWE run, her recent remarks indicate the clock may be ticking. Whether she steps away soon or later, her legacy as a fearless performer and history-maker is firmly intact.

From The Rock to John Cena: Ranking WWE's biggest wrestlers-turned-actors
A major part of being in WWE, and of the job of a professional wrestler, is the ability to act. One of the biggest names of the modern era, John Cena, has built a 25-year career facing opponents who may have been more athletic or had a broader arsenal of moves. What kept him at the top, however, was his ability to cut promos, his commanding mic skills, and, for lack of a better word, his acting. Since acting is such an integral part of their craft, many wrestlers transition comfortably into Hollywood when the opportunity arises. The Hollywood Reporter has now released a list ranking the best wrestlers who made that leap. 1. Dave Bautista 'The Animal' Dave Bautista perfectly fit the bill when Hollywood needed a towering, larger-than-life figure who could bring both comedic relief and star power. His portrayal of Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy wasn't just convincing, it was outstanding. While most wrestlers end up typecast in roles that mirror their size and wrestling personas, Bautista had other plans. He distanced himself from WWE appearances and even slimmed down to a leaner physique to break away from his past image. With roles in films like Knock at the Cabin (2023), The Killer's Game (2024), and The Last Showgirl (2024), Bautista has proven his range and depth as an actor. 2. The Rock By far the biggest name on this list, both in terms of body of work and global fame, is Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. For over a decade, he has been an almost omnipresent force in Hollywood, headlining blockbusters and starring in one of the most influential franchises of all time, The Fast and the Furious saga. Beyond his countless cameos and TV ventures, Johnson cemented himself as the go-to star when filmmakers needed a larger-than-life figure who could toss villains around and follow it up with a perfectly timed quip. Long before Hollywood, WWE fans knew him as a natural showman with unmatched charisma and mic skills—talents that seamlessly translated to the big screen. Now, Johnson is set to take on what may be his most nuanced and challenging role yet in The Smashing Machine. 3. John Cena Very few men have dared to go toe-to-toe with John Cena in a verbal battle, and even fewer have walked away unscathed. After establishing himself as the 'face' of WWE, the move to Hollywood seemed like the natural next step, though the transition wasn't seamless. It wasn't until his scene-stealing role in Amy Schumer's Trainwreck that audiences began to see Cena's true acting potential. Since then, despite a few bumps along the way, he has built an impressive filmography by playing to his strengths. Today, John Cena has firmly carved his space in Hollywood, most notably as DC's Peacemaker, with the hit show's second season set to premiere on August 28. 4. 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper One of the biggest names in the wrestling world, Roddy Piper was unapologetically himself in the ring, and he carried that same energy into his acting career. His cult-classic film They Live, directed by John Carpenter, wasn't just a hit but a cultural moment that showcased Piper's acting chops. Though he didn't appear in many projects, 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper still left an indelible mark. 5. Adam Copeland Equipped with one of the greatest entrances in WWE history, Adam 'Edge' Copeland was a superstar from day one. He embodied the ultimate cool, dangerous bad guy—the kind your parents warned you about. The actor's roles in Vikings and Haven showcased his acting potential. Unlike Dave Bautista, however, Edge chose a different path, making a triumphant return to WWE after a nine-year hiatus 6. Kevin Nash As part of the NWO (New World Order), Kevin Nash was one of the toughest men to deal with during his WWE days, making several high-profile returns—one of which even brought CM Punk to his knees. Casting Nash in Hollywood poses a unique challenge, and it's not just about his towering height; assigning serious roles to someone of his stature can be tricky. Yet Nash pulled it off, delivering a memorable performance as Tarzan in the Magic Mike series. 7. Hulk Hogan Hulk Hogan deserves credit for paving the way for future wrestlers. He turned wrestling into a global attraction and made it mainstream, which naturally led the WWE's biggest name to make frequent trips to Hollywood. However, his acting chops didn't quite translate on screen. Apart from a few notable cameos, none of Hogan's films achieved critical or commercial success. Still, even if he couldn't replicate his WWE dominance, Hogan managed to crack open Hollywood's armor. 8. Paul Wight Another wrestler who carried both the advantages and challenges of his massive stature is Paul 'Big Show' Wight. A celebrated in-ring performer with a storied WWE career, Wight found it difficult to carve out space in Hollywood. Most of his on-screen appearances came in comical roles. Still, credit to Wight for making the effort to explore the world beyond the ring. 9. Jesse Ventura In this case, the Hollywood career may well rival—or even surpass—the wrestling one. Jesse 'The Body' Ventura was never the biggest name in WWE, but he managed to land numerous cameos, guest spots, and voiceover roles. His most notable appearance was in Arnold Schwarzenegger's Predator. 10. Andre the Giant Even for those unfamiliar with his wrestling legacy, it's easy to see why casting André the Giant posed challenges. He spoke broken English in real life and stood at an astonishing 7'4″. Yet despite these hurdles, his portrayal of the gentle giant in the iconic The Princess Bride is still loved by audiences all over the world.

WWE Stars Naomi And Jimmy Uso Expecting First Child Together: ‘There's A Baby On Board'
WWE superstar Naomi appeared on Monday Night Raw to reveal she is pregnant with her and Jimmy Uso's first baby together. WWE stars Naomi and Jimmy Uso are expecting a baby. The wrestling couple revealed Naomi, 37, is pregnant with their first child together as she stepped out in front of the live crowd on Netflix's Monday Night Raw. The announcement was made with a preview clip for Stephanie McMahon's What's Your Story? podcast, as Jimmy said: 'We need y'all to proceed with caution, because there is a baby on board!" Naomi added: 'I'm pregnant, and I'm having a baby!" Back in the arena in Philadelphia, the Women's World Champion received a standing ovation from a raucous crowd. She slipped back into character, insisting she wasn't going to hand over the gold – which she did eventually relinquish – and urging onscreen boss Adam Pearrce to get out of the ring. 'THERE IS A BABY ON BOARD!"Congratulations to @TheTrinity_Fatu & Jimmy @WWEUsos! ❤️ — WWE (@WWE) August 19, 2025 The crowd chanted 'baby Uso", before Naomi vowed to be back in nine months to take on the 'heffers" in the women's division. In a full version of the podcast, the veteran wrestler confirmed she is seven weeks pregnant, and found out on August 10, one day before she was pulled from Monday Night Raw. She explained: 'I found out Sunday [August 10] on the road. In my hotel room. 'I had been feeling a little different, a little weird. Wanted to take a test to make sure and rule that out. 'Not thinking – because it's been a long journey with fertility issues that I've had. I really didn't think it was possible." Before making her WWE debut 13 years ago, Naomi had an oophorectomy to remove her right ovary, and in 2020 she had 'tonnes" of fibroids removed in a myomectomy, which left her out of action for seven months. She said: 'On top of being 37 and only having one ovary, we thought that, naturally, I couldn't any more." Naomi – who joked on Raw that her husband likes to 'Netflix and chill" – admitted she was 'stressed" about letting her bosses know. She noted: 'There is no way to know 100% for sure, but we had been advised that [we would need help to get pregnant]. 'I found out Sunday, called him, had to go to work. Stressed about having to tell work because of where I am right now as the champion. Of all times." Naomi added that she is 'happy" about the news, even if she will need more regularly checkups than some pregnancies. She said: ''It's a lot to process, but I'm happy. I want to get through this healthy because I am high risk. 'I'm gonna have to get check ups more often, but everything is looking good. We're off to a good start." Jey Uso Defeats Bron Breakker, Roman Reigns Appear Jey Uso's main event clash with Bron Breakker saw Roman Reigns appear with a roar and deliver a spear on Breakker to help Uso win the Extreme Rules match in the latest episode of WWE RAW. Using intervention from Bronson Reed and Seth Rollins, Breakker looked set to be heading for a victory against Uso. However, the chaotic tussle ended in Uso's triumph when Reigns' surprise entry proved harmful to Breakker. Iyo Sky faced up against Raquel Rodriguez for the second time in two weeks after losing to her in the previous episode of Raw. It was a chance to avenge the defeat and Sky stood in no mood to let go of the opportunity. The match started on an awful note for her, however, as she got slammed early on by Rodriguez. Mounting her troubles were the running interference by Rodriguz's Tag Team partner, Roxanne Perez. But Sky soon made amends, giving Perez a strong splash and backing it up with an Over The Moonsault on Rodriguez before executing the pinfall for her victory. Penta vs Xavier Woods New Day member Xavier Woods faced Penta in another intense clash at this week's Raw. The two strong wrestlers gave each other a hard time, landing heavy moves and forcing their rival to stretch every ounce of their endurance. However, Judgement Day eventually won after Finn Balor struck Mr. Iguana with a top-rope Coup de Grace. Balor then went for the pin and successfully ended the tussle. Becky Lynch's duel with Natalya saw Lynch successfully defend her Intercontinental Championship crown. In a one-sided affair, Lynch played aggressively from the start. She slammed Natalya into the ring post before producing the DisArmHer armbar on Nattie, from which she initially managed to free herself. However, Lynch eventually got the desired tap outs from her opponent after slapping back the DisArmHer armbar on her. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
