2025 Big Ten Baseball Tournament bracket, pools, schedule set
Iowa baseball's 2025 regular season came to a close on Saturday with a 13-4 loss against No. 7 Oregon. The Hawkeyes ended their regular season with a 32-20-1 (21-9 Big Ten) mark.
After its sweep of the Hawkeyes, Oregon shared the Big Ten regular season title with UCLA. But, the Ducks earned the No. 1 seed courtesy of their April series victory over UCLA.
The Big Ten Baseball Tournament has a new format in 2025. Twelve teams advanced to the Big Ten Tournament from Charles Schwab Field Omaha and they will begin play in four three-team pools. The four pool winners will then advance to the single-elimination semifinals on May 24, followed by the championship game on May 25.
If multiple teams go 1-1 in their respective pools, the higher-seeded team automatically advances.
Iowa earned the No. 3 seed and is in Pool C with No. 6 seed Indiana (31-23, 16-14 Big Ten) and No. 10 seed Rutgers (28-27, 15-15 Big Ten). The Hawkeyes took two of three games from Rutgers in their series from March 7-9 and swept Indiana in their series from April 25-27.

ChatGPT AI-driven NBA Mock Draft has Jase Richardson landing just outside lottery
ChatGPT AI-driven NBA Mock Draft has Jase Richardson landing just outside lottery ChatGPT AI is predicting Jase Richardson to land just outside the lottery in the upcoming NBA Draft. USA TODAY Sports released their latest NBA Mock Draft driven by ChatGPT AI, and Richardson landed right about where most human draft experts are predicting. The computer model had Richardson going No. 17 overall to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Richardson starred for the Spartans during his lone season in college, playing a massive part in Michigan State winning the Big Ten and reaching the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. Richardson averaged 12.1 points per game and shot above 40% from three-point range, which raised his draft stock to where it was a no-brainer to enter the NBA Draft and leave after just one year. Richardson has been commonly mocked to land anywhere from late lottery pick to late first round pick. Most of the recent mock drafts I've came across have him landing just outside the lottery like we saw here from USA TODAY Sports' ChatGPT AI mock draft. The NBA Draft will be held on July 25 and 26 in Brooklyn. The draft will be televised on ABC and ESPN. Pair of BTN analysts pick Spartans to finish in bottom half of Big Ten this season
Pair of BTN analysts pick Spartans to finish in bottom half of Big Ten this season A pair of analysts at the Big Ten Network both are expecting the Spartans to finish in the bottom half of the league this upcoming season. Big Ten football analysts Jake Booty and Adam Breneman released their predicted Big Ten standings for the upper half of the league this upcoming year, and to little surprise neither had the Spartans included. Both left Michigan State outside of the top half of the league, with teams like Indiana, Michigan, Iowa, Nebraska and Minnesota getting the nod over the Spartans. Check out their predicted Big Ten standings upper half in the post below: Michigan State has been projected by many to be a bottom half Big Ten team heading into this season. So Booty and Breneman are right in line with the common pick for Michigan State. The Spartans will open the 2025 season on August 29 against in-state foe Western Michigan. Kickoff from Spartan Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET with the game set to be televised on FS1. Michigan State target, 3-star QB Cooper Newman picks up offer from fellow Big Ten school
Michigan State target, 3-star QB Cooper Newman picks up offer from fellow Big Ten school A quarterback prospect that Michigan State has identified as a key target in the 2027 class has picked up an offer from a fellow Big Ten school. Michigan State target Cooper Newman of Sevierville, Tenn. announced on Friday that he has received an offer from Northwestern. Newman picked up an offer from the Spartans last week, and the Wildcats are now the latest power four program to also offer Newman. Newman is listed as a three-star quarterback in the 2027 class, according to On3. He ranks as the No. 35 quarterback and No. 14 player from Tennessee in the class. Michigan State and Northwestern are just a few of a few big-time programs to recently extend him an offer. He has also picked up notable offers from North Carolina and Georgia Tech in May. Outside of those four schools, he also holds offers from Virginia Tech, Appalachian State, Toledo, Marshall, Bowling Green and Gardner-Webb. Michigan State is set to host Newman for an unofficial visit next week. Newman will be at Michigan State on June 13.
