Influencer musician celebrates topping the album chart
Brighton-based influencer and musician James Marriott has seen off competition from Oasis and Sabrina Carpenter to earn his first UK number one album. He secured the top spot on the Official Albums Chart with Don't Tell the Dog, which was his second studio LP.Speaking to BBC Radio Sussex, Marriott said: "I was sat on my sofa at home when I found out and immediately burst into tears and called everyone I know. "We weren't expecting it, it would have been lovely to get a top-10 and then as the weekly slowly progressed we realised slowly that we might actually get it, and then we did."
The musician, who moved to Brighton four years ago, said his week had been "pretty mind-blowing" since hearing the news."We did a good job on this last album and managed to market it in the right way, reach the right people and we can be happy," he said.Marriott explained that Don't Tell the Dog was about about moments in his adulthood that resonated with his childhood, taking inspiration from his late dog, Jasper. He says his tip for success is to be "honest with your artistry" and to make content online that supports your music to help "get your art out there as much as possible".

Former Man Utd star, 53, looks unrecognisable as he reunites with two Treble-winning former team-mates
MANCHESTER UNITED Treble winners Jaap Stam and Wes Brown reunited with an unrecognisable former Red Devils star. Legendary defender Stam shared a picture of the trio posing with the Treble trophies to his Instagram page. 4 4 The Dutchman, 52, captioned his post: "Great to meet up again with these two great personalities to share thoughts about the future and dwell on the past!" Stam was an integral part of Man Utd's Treble-winning campaign, playing 51 games in all competitions as Sir Alex Ferguson 's side became the first ever English club to lift the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup all in the same season. Brown, 45, had only recently broken through from the academy at Old Trafford, but played 21 games in the Treble campaign, before going on to become a mainstay at the club until 2011. However, the third member of their party, now 53, looks completely different to his playing days with Man Utd. The former winger used to be instantly recognisable with his flowing long hair and clean-shaven look. He signed for the club in a deal worth £3.5million immediately following a stellar tournament for Czechia at Euro 1996, where the country finished as runners-up to Germany. However, the growing prominence of the Class of '92's David Beckham in his position meant he became more and more sidelined. Overall, he stayed in England for one and a half seasons, leaving to sign for Benfica in December 1997 after making 48 appearances and scoring six goals. The name of the star in question... Karel Poborsky. For his reunion with Stam and Brown, he had ditched his long locks for a shorter cut with noticeably darker hair. Man Utd legend Wayne Rooney lands new job working alongside fellow Premier League icon He has also added some facial hair to his face, and he was also seen wearing some shades. Poborsky never won the Treble with Man Utd, but did leave with a Premier League winners' medal for the 1996/97 season. After leaving Man Utd, he stayed with Benfica until 2000 before starring for Lazio, Sparta Prague and Dynamo České Budějovice and retiring in 2007. He also earned 118 caps for his national team and is ranked second behind Chelsea icon and goalkeeper Petr Cech for most appearances for the Czech national team. Poborsky is perhaps most well-remembered for his stunning chip goal at Euro 1996 against Portugal. Since retiring, he has taken up punditry work and has appeared on Canal+ Sport in his homeland while also appearing in the odd charity game, including the Man Utd Legends of the North game in 2022. 4 4

Live Glastonbury 2025 Friday live: The 1975 to headline the pyramid stage
It's the first 'proper' morning of Glastonbury, when the live music begins, and those who arrived on Worthy Farm as early as Wednesday morning might be regretting depleting their fuel tank before the party has even really started. By 10am there are already fresh-faced twenty-somethings queuing up for tequila shots, while some stragglers clearly never went to bed in the first place. But the mood is bright: yet another year of blissful sunshine, which has left certain members of the Telegraph team sporting pink shiny sunburns. No doubt the medical tents around the site will be full of the young, drunk and dehydrated. In the festival press tent, everyone is talking about Kneecap, of course. The controversial northern Irish rap trio, of which one member, Liam Óg Ó Hannaidh, who goes by the stage name Mo Chara, was recently charged with terror offence for displaying a Hamas flag while on stage, are playing tomorrow afternoon and word on the site that anyone hoping to go will have to arrive two hours before, with the festival likely shutting access from an hour before the gig. With Prime Minister Keir Starmer calling their Glastonbury gig 'not appropriate', how will the BBC navigate broadcasting this political hot potato? Television coverage tomorrow doesn't start until 5pm, and Kneecap's set is at 4pm, so there's no risk of accidentally flicking onto their show. But it remains to be seen whether the BBC will broadcast their set on iPlayer, which will be streaming the action from the West Holts Stage all day. If you're watching Glastonbury from your sofa this year, Telegraph music critic Neil McCormick has hand-picked his top 10 gigs to watch, while we also have a comprehensive guide on how exactly the BBC coverage works – from how to watch live to how to watch on catch-up. The Telegraph team on the ground will be keeping you updated via this live blog as we go, from music reviews and news to celebrity sightings and all things weird and wonderful. And please share your own favourite, happy and downright weird memories from Glastonbury in the comments. The best ones will be featured in the blog. And if you think this is all a load of nonsense, we have just the piece for you here.
