Neal McDonough Says ‘Hollywood Turned on Me' After ‘I Wouldn't Kiss Another Woman On-Screen': ‘I Couldn't Get a Job and I Lost Everything'

Yahoo20 hours ago
Neal McDonough, the veteran character actor who has appeared in everything from 'Band of Brothers' to 'Desperate Housewives,' 'Minority Report,' 'American Horror Story,' 'Suits' and more, revealed during an interview on the 'Nothing Left Unsaid' podcast (exclusive shared by TMZ) that Hollywood shut him out when he refused to kiss other actors on screen. McDonough has been married to Ruvé Robertson since 2003. The couple has five children together.
'I'd always had in my contracts I wouldn't kiss another woman on-screen,' McDonough said. 'My wife didn't have any problem with it. It was me, really, who had a problem with it. When I couldn't do it, and they couldn't understand it, Hollywood just completely turned on me. They wouldn't let me be part of the show anymore.'

'For two years, I couldn't get a job and I lost everything you could possibly imagine,' McDonough added. 'Not just houses and material things, but your swagger, your cool, who you are, your identity—everything. My identity was an actor, and a really good one. And once you don't have that identity, you're kind of lost in a tailspin.'
McDonough has been acting since 1990 and just headlined the Angel Studios drama film 'The Last Rodeo,' in which he played a former bull-riding world champion who returns to the rodeo later in life in order to win money for his grandson's brain tumor surgery. The film opened in theaters in late May and grossed $15 million on a production budget in the $8 million range.
In recent years, McDonough has been more known for his television work. He appeared on six episodes of 'Yellowstone' as Malcolm Beck and on seven episodes of '9-1-1: Lone Star' as Sergeant Ty O'Brien. He reunited with 'Yellowstone' creator Taylor Sheridan for a series regular role opposite Sylvester Stallone on the second season of 'Tulsa King,' which streams on Paramount+.

‘Love Island USA' Season 6 Star JaNa Craig Speaks On Kenny Rodriguez Split Amid Allegtions He's ‘A Narcissist And A Racist'

JaNa Craig has spoken out following her breakup from Kenny Rodriguez and amid allegations on social media that her ex is a 'narcissist' and a 'racist.' Source: Neilson Barnard / Getty The Love Island USA Season 6 stars were together for almost a year before their split was confirmed by TMZ this week. Shortly after news of their breakup broke, fans noticed friends and fellow cast members unfollowing Rodriguez, which started rumors about what led to such a serious rift. JaNa took to Instagram on Tuesday, July 29, to address the breakup for the first time, thanking fans for 'all your love and support' throughout such a difficult time. While she didn't reveal exactly what led to the split, she did say that Kenny's actions were 'terrible, disgusting, and disappointing,' admitting the fan theories didn't even capture how bad things truly were. 'Discovering that someone you loved isn't who you thought they were and that the relationship you thought you were building hasn't been genuine since day one has been truly devastating,' she wrote. Fans were immediately ready to rally behind Craig, and once her Love Island cast members started posting more, the anger toward Rodriguez only grew. He posted a statement of his own, saying, 'Breakups are never easy, especially in the public eye. Sometimes, despite how deeply you care for someone, you come to the hard truth that the relationship was not something that could last long-term.' Kenny continued, 'I'll always be grateful for the time we shared and the memories we created. I release this chapter with no ill will, only a hope that JaNa's path forward brings her nothing but happiness.' This statement is what really seemed to anger not only JaNa, but her friends, causing an avalanche of messages criticizing Rodriguez. Craig tagged her ex-boyfriend in an Instagram Story before writing: 'stfu you manipulative liar. You not taking accountability and telling people the type of person you really are is insane to me!! My first statement was me being nice. Do not piss me off.' JaNa's friends were even more unforgiving in their responses, with LI USA S6 runner-up Leah Kateb accusing Kenny of using ChatGPT for his statement. 'Tell the truth for once,' she began. 'Racist, clout/money hungry and scammer since DAY 1!!!! Tryan make it seem like it's something it's not. Dw, our Nay is blessed & highly favored.' Serena, the winner of Season 6, also commented on JaNa's IG Story, calling Kenny 'a narcissist and a racist.' Craig's best friend from outside of the franchise, Charmane, put together some of the pieces for fans, making a post advising women to go through their significant others' phones. While she didn't connect the post to JaNa, multiple people close to the situation, calling Kenny a scammer and a racist, seem to confirm he did what Charmane is warning about. 'My advice for women in relationships: if you have access- go thru your mans phone TODAY. Search keywords like 'I don't like black women, I thought I would get more money from this, I'm faking this relationship, going on the show would be for clout, I can't wait to be done w this so I can f**k hella b*tches…..' Amazon Throws Money at ‘Netflix of AI'

Amazon poured more than $1 billion into its streaming series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, only for it to get a pretty tepid reception. So Amazon appears to be going for a new approach to streaming content: If you think you can do better, prove it. According to a report from Business Insider, the company is funding an AI streaming platform called Showrunner that, in theory, will let people create their own shows using generative AI tools. Showrunner is the creation of Fable Studio, a virtual reality-turned AI-powered media company that blew up in 2023 after it released an AI version of South Park (which it happened to drop smack dab in the middle of the ongoing writers' strike that sought to secure protections against the encroachment of AI on the livelihood of creatives). A limited version of the service launched last year, dubbed the 'Netflix of AI,' with some AI-generated content that viewers could iterate on to create custom episodes and storylines. Now, with Amazon's backing, it seems Showrunner is going wide. Per Variety, it is expanding beyond its closed alpha test of 10,000 users and launching widely this Thursday. The service will be free to use at first, but will eventually allow users to buy credits to create their own content using the platform's built-in content and generative AI tools. Those credits will cost between $10 and $40 per month, according to a pitch deck obtained by Business Insider. Viewing the content will be first, and users can share the content via YouTube and other third-party platforms. Gizmodo reached out to Amazon for comment on its reported funding of Showrunner, as well as any potential content partnerships the company may enter into with Fable Studio. Amazon has not responded at the time of publication. For now, it seems that Fable will be limited primarily to the company's own content, which is apparently AI-generated to begin with (and frankly not that well received by audiences who have been subjected to it). But the company certainly has its eyes set on bigger brands. According to Variety, Fable is in talks with Disney and other Hollywood studios about potentially licensing IP for Showrunner, which would allow users to use that material to create their own versions of familiar movies and shows. Showrunner has some interesting ideas, which is ironic since creating your own version of an existing property is pretty uninteresting and glorified fan fiction. For instance, if a person creates a show on Showrunner that another person remixes, 40% of the revenue of the remix goes to the original creator, according to Business Insider. But, again, the fact that this is AI-generated content at the outset means there is likely a pretty low ceiling on the level of quality those shows will achieve. Fable Studio founder Edward Saatchi, to his credit, seems fully aware that this might suck. 'Maybe nobody wants this and it won't work,' he told Variety. Probably! But hey, if you can burn someone else's money to find out for sure, who can really blame you?
