Michael J Fox appeals for help finding lost 'Back to the Future' guitar
Michael J Fox and other stars of "Back to the Future" appealed for the public's help on Tuesday in locating the red Gibson guitar featured in a memorable scene.
Marty McFly, the time-traveling teen portrayed by Fox in the 1985 film, stunned students at a 1950s high school dance with wild electric guitar riffs played on a Gibson ES-345 Cherry Red guitar in the movie.
The guitar went missing after production wrapped.
"It's somewhere lost in the space-time continuum, or it's in some Teamster's garage," Fox joked in a video released by Gibson.
Co-stars Lea Thompson, Christopher Lloyd and Harry Waters Jr also urged the public to join the search, as did singer Huey Lewis, whose song "The Power of Love" was featured in the movie.
Gibson is filming a documentary called "Lost to the Future" about the search for the guitar. It also plans to re-issue the ES-345 Cherry Red in October.
People can submit tips about the guitar's whereabout via or via a phone number provided on the site.

Billie Eilish takes top prize at American Music Awards

Pop singer Eilish claimed the artist prize over Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Morgan Wallen and other nominees. Eilish won all seven categories in which she was nominated, including album of the year and favorite touring artist. "This is so crazy. I feel speechless," Eilish said in a video message from Europe, where she is on tour. "I wish I could be there tonight." Eilish, 23, released her third studio album, "Hit Me Hard and Soft," in May 2024. "That's So True" singer Gracie Abrams, winner of new artist of the year, also sent a recording to accept her honor. She thanked her fans, who she said "I have been lucky enough to learn from." "They have reminded me of the light that exists out there," Abrams said. Post Malone was named favorite male country artist. Other no-shows included Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar. Lamar went into the ceremony with a leading 10 nominations. He earned one award, favorite hip-hop song, for "Not Like Us." The festivities opened with host Jennifer Lopez singing and dancing to a six-minute medley of 23 hits by the nominees. The songs included Eilish's "Birds of a Feather," Sabrina Carpenter's "Espresso" and Beyonce's "Texas Hold 'Em." Janet Jackson was honored with the Icon award, a tribute for artists with global influence. "I don't consider myself an icon," Jackson said on stage. "The one thing that I hope for is that I'm an inspiration for others to follow their dreams and succeed." Eighty-year-old Rod Stewart received a lifetime achievement honor and danced and sang to his pop hit "Forever Young," which was released in 1984. Paris court convicts thieves who robbed Kim Kardashian in jewel heist

Ten people were in the dock, accused of involvement in the Paris heist. Robbers wearing ski masks and disguised as police tied up the billionaire celebrity before making off with the ring, given to her by her then-husband, rapper Kanye West (now known as Ye), and other jewels. Kardashian travelled to Paris to testify earlier this month, telling the court she had thought she was going to die. The mixed panel of judges and jury convicted eight of the 10 for crimes directly linked to the theft, while another defendant was found guilty of illegal weapons charges. One person was acquitted. The heaviest sentences were handed down to five defendants who participated directly in the heist, with the mastermind of the robbery, 69-year-old Aomar Ait Khedache, getting a three-year jail sentence. Kardashian's lawyers said that she accepted the court's ruling. "I am deeply grateful to the French authorities for pursuing justice in this case. The crime was the most terrifying experience of my life, leaving a lasting impact on me and my family," she said in a statement. "While I'll never forget what happened, I believe in the power of growth and accountability and pray for healing for all." During her court appearance, she said she forgave Khedache, who had asked for forgiveness in a letter. The thieves were dubbed the "grandpa robbers" by the press as many were of or near retirement age.
