Energy ministry organizes military drills for Aqsa Flood graduates
Graduates of the open military course (Aqsa Flood) from the Ministry of Electricity, Energy and Water employees on Tuesday carried out a march and military maneuver, as part of the mobilization and recruitment activities for the official side.
The 170 graduates, who were distributed into two batches for practical application in the military maneuver, embodied the skills acquired during the 13-day course in the use of light and medium weapons.
The maneuver, which was attended by the Minister of Electricity, Energy and Water, Dr. Ali Saif, and his deputy, Adel Bader, included targeting virtual enemy sites with Kalashnikov weapons, machine guns, and other combat skills on the battlefield.
The Minister of Electricity confirmed the readiness of the ministry's employees to fight the battle with the American, British, and Zionist enemy and implement the directives of the leader of the revolution, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, in making the choices he sees.
He explained that the ministry's employees joining the "Al-Aqsa Flood" courses is a positive step towards acquiring military and combat skills, especially in light of the continued targeting of Arab and Islamic countries by the American, Zionist, and British enemy, noting the interaction of the participants in the courses and their sense of responsibility in light of the stage in which the people of Yemen stand with the Palestinian resistance.
While the Deputy Minister of Electricity confirmed the readiness of the ministry's employees and their willingness to confront any escalation or confrontation with the American, Zionist, and British enemy.
He said, "We are in the field of practical application of the military maneuver for the Ministry of Electricity and Water employees, in implementation of the directives of the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, to enhance mobilization and recruitment, and if the enemy thinks of invading Yemen, the leadership and employees of the ministry are ready to confront."
The graduates confirmed their full readiness and preparedness to support the armed forces in the battle of "Promised Victory and Sacred Jihad" in support of the Palestinian people and their just cause, and to repel the conspiracies being hatched against Yemen, its sovereignty and independence.
A number of undersecretaries of the ministry's sectors and general managers participated in the maneuver.

Yemen bans use of foreign currency in local trade
Yemen's internationally-recognized government announced on Tuesday that all commercial transactions within areas under its control must be conducted using the Yemeni rial, prohibiting the use of foreign currencies for domestic trade and services. According to the state-run Saba news agency, the decision prohibits foreign currency use in transactions like tuition fees, medical expenses, rent and travel tickets, where foreign payment is not inherently required, reports citing foreign media. Ministers and provincial governors are tasked with enforcing the ban and reporting progress to the prime minister on a regular basis, Saba reported. This measure aims to strengthen the rial's sovereignty and stability. Currency traders in Aden told Xinhua that the rial surged to 1,617 per US dollar in government-controlled areas on Monday, a 40-percent recovery from nearly 2,900 weeks earlier. Yemen faces an unprecedented financial crisis after more than two years without oil revenue, which constitutes 70 percent of government income. The crisis deepened following Houthi attacks on oil export facilities in southern Yemen in late 2022, and amid the prolonged conflict since 2014. The war-torn Arab nation remains divided between the internationally-recognised government based in Aden and the Houthis that control the capital Sanaa and northern regions.

Sana'a - Saba: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed on Tuesday regret over the contents of the briefing of Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations Hans Grundberg before the Security Council session held Tuesday. In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed that it followed, as usual, the briefing of the UN envoy to Yemen before the Security Council on August 12, 2025 AD. Unfortunately, his briefing continues to revolve around a vicious circle and steers clear of the root causes of the crisis in Yemen. The Ministry indicated that talk of peace and stability remains incomplete without a clear reference to the ongoing Saudi-Emirati military aggression, the American, British, and Israeli aggression, as well as the comprehensive and unjust blockade imposed on the Yemeni people for years. The statement noted that the briefing did not provide an accurate and impartial description of the reality on the ground, which undermines its credibility and makes it appear as if it is settling the victim and the perpetrator. Regarding the UN envoy's reference to escalation on the front lines, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that any military actions by the Yemeni armed forces are part of a legitimate response to the ongoing violations by the mercenary side, which has not committed to a genuine and comprehensive ceasefire. The Ministry also emphasized that strengthening defensive positions in areas in Hodeida is a natural measure and a sovereign right to protect Yemeni territory and vital infrastructure, especially with the ongoing threats of aggression. The statement explained that the measures taken by the Government of Change and Construction, including the issuance of currency, are necessary measures aimed at protecting the national economy and maintaining currency stability in areas controlled by the Supreme Political Council, ensuring the continued provision of services to citizens. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the UN envoy to assume his responsibility impartially and speak frankly about the unilateral measures taken by mercenaries that threaten the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Republic of Yemen. These measures include the issuance of new identity cards, a move aimed at perpetuating political separation and undermining the Yemeni social fabric. The Ministry's statement emphasized that the decision to announce the termination of the UN envoy's mandate is possible if he continues to represent one party and implement the agenda of the countries aggressing against the Yemeni people.
