Friends, festival-goers – lend me your ears! The run-up to Leeds and Reading Festival 2025 continues!
As the sun shines down on most of the United Kingdom this week (and hay fever once again kicks in), our minds turn to the weather over the August Bank Holiday weekend , the dates for both Leeds and Reading Festival, alongside Creamfields 2025 for the dance music enthusiasts among us.
With a fantastic line-up of acts already confirmed, speculation is rife about potential surprise appearances at various festivals this year. Whispers on Reddit and cryptic posts on social media are fuelling the rumour mill, as is typical in the month preceding Glastonbury, the lead in to the many UK summer festivals annually.
But who are the 'wildcards' that could make a sneaky appearance at Richfield Avenue or Bramham Park ?
We've examined Ticketmaster and a number of concerts taking place around the dates of Leeds and Reading Festival 2025, alongside looking at album release dates which may lead to promotional activity close to the festival to bring you our 13 'wildcard' picks for potential surprise guests at Leeds and Reading Festival 2025.
As always, take this as speculative - and with a healthy dose of salt.
1 . The Ting Tings
The Ting Tings are dropping their latest album, Home, in June 2025 and despite their last announced UK shows also being in June, the duo's relatively simple setup could make a surprise festival appearance a tempting way to re-engage with fans and promote their new music. Imagine the infectious energy of That's Not My Name and the fresh sounds of "Home" igniting a smaller stage for an unexpected indie-pop party. It's a plausible way for them to make a memorable festival moment. | MARCEL VAN HOORN/AFP/GettyImages Photo Sales
2 . Khruangbin
Known for their mesmerizing instrumental grooves that blend funk, soul, and psychedelic rock, Khruangbin have UK dates sandwiching the Leeds and Reading weekend, playing in London on August 15th and Halifax on August 24th. Could they carve out some time to treat festival-goers to a secret set of their unique, worldly sounds? | Provided Photo Sales
3 . Maribou State
With UK dates surrounding the Leeds and Reading weekend (August 22nd - 24th, 2025), including a show in Cardiff on June 25th and Margate on August 24th, could electronic music aficionados Maribou State be tempted to drop a surprise set? Their atmospheric soundscapes and captivating live performances would be a perfect addition to a smaller stage, offering a different vibe from the main headliners. | Rory Dewar Photo Sales
4 . Tom Grennan
With his album releasing just a week before the festival and his own tour not kicking off until September, Tom Grennan becomes a strong contender for a surprise appearance. He'd be in peak promotional mode and available. His energetic performances and popularity in the UK would make him a fantastic addition to a smaller stage, showcasing his new material alongside fan favourites. This is definitely one to watch! | Michael Boyd Photo Sales

'Skint' Josie Gibson resorts to 'moving back into a caravan' after This Morning star's home renovation leaves her 'sleepless and with stress through the roof'

has revealed that she's resorted to 'moving back into a caravan' after the This Morning star's home renovation left her 'sleepless and with stress through the roof'. The This Morning presenter, 40, appeared on Thursday's episode of the ITV show to chat with Ed Balls, 58, and Ranvir Singh, 47, about a breast cancer campaign that she is involved in. But before they spoke about that, they mentioned her brand new show Josie Gibson's Big Country Build, which is on our screens later this year. They shared a sneak peek of what to expect, and a clip of Josie of her saying: 'Have I sat down and worked out the financials? 'No. No... and I am quite skint now, actually.' When they returned to the live studio, Josie could be heard laughing out loud and she said: 'You always think you're really cool until you watch yourself on TV and you think "Oh my God - is that what I sound like!?"' Josie said: 'Have I sat down and worked out the financials? No. No... and I am quite skint now, actually' Ranvir pointed out that Josie used to live in a caravan before all this, and now she's got an enormous house. The former Strictly star dubbed the host: 'You are a great British success story!' Josie confessed: 'Well... I've moved back into a caravan. I don't know about that!' Ed was keen to find out what the programme is about. Josie explained: 'So my dream Ed, was to always build an eco house off grid as possible. Myself.' She continued: 'I've roped my family in. So they say never work with family and animals... and I've just done that. To say my stress levels are up here is to say the least.' Talking about her loved ones, Josie said: 'They are great. They are amazing. But there is a lot of challenges let's say.' Ranvir asked: 'Has it put relationships under strain?' 'I would say so,' Josie replied while nodding. As well as transforming her home she is also taking part in Breast Cancer Now and Tombola's 'Eyes Down, Check Up' campaign. They want people to regularly check their breasts and also raise £1m. On Thursday she went down to Westfield Stratford and joined nurses to chat about breast cancer. 'When you're sat down with your mates, let's make it part of the conversation, let's make it a normal thing,' Josie told the presenters. Josie's new show was announced last month. The seven-part series has allowed for cameras to follow her journey of transforming her huge Somerset property into a modern pad. Josie will be joined by her rarely-seen family members brothers Josh and Charlie, who are scrap metal traders, as well as her builder cousin Tom. Not only that, she's keen to follow a sustainable life style, so the camera crew will follow her growing her own produce and installing an underground heat pump for bees. ITV's press release states: 'The extensive renovation will be followed every step of the way as Josie attempts to assemble her dream home, complete with an on-site gym, walk-in wardrobe, and blacked out windows. 'And as she adapts to new surroundings, Josie will be building lots of new friendships with neighbours who could prove integral towards making her renovation dreams a reality.' Speaking about her new show, Josie said: 'My dream is to build a house as eco and luxurious as possible where you are immersed in the sanctuary of nature. 'I want to use the acres of land to try and my best to have a little small holding. I want bees, birds, badgers, to all live in harmony. 'Though, I'm becoming increasingly concerned that my harmonious dream is slowly turning into a construction nightmare..

Rapper shocks with admission he 'doesn't eat and just drinks a bunch of water'

Machine Gun Kelly has worried fans with his confession that he barely eats anything and just has 'a bunch of water' instead, a diet which could be 'dangerous' according to medical experts. Apparently, the Bad Things rapper – who recently welcomed a little girl with ex-partner Megan Fox – lives off bone broth, kimchi, and water. While promoting his new album Lost Americana, MGK appeared in a food-eating interview with Ladbible, but this has sparked a resurgence in concern about his diet. In a resurfaced clip, originally posted last month on Instagram account HipHop-N-More, the 35-year-old star revealed: 'I don't really eat. I just do water a bunch.' The men surrounding him were slightly confused, asking if he meant he followed a fasting diet, to which he nodded. 'Like, I ate that burger 'cause we're streaming,' MGK explained and praised his friend's cooking skills, but another man asked if they weren't filming, what would he have eaten. 'Probably water,' came the new father's shocking reply, prompting concerned questions about if he feels 'lightheaded' at all. 'Yeah, sometimes. I'll eat, like, a couple times a week,' the Home rapper confessed, stating his meals mainly consist of 'bone broth with kimchi and sauerkraut.' He added he will have celery juice and coconut water 'sometimes', with his diet rounded out by cigarettes and coffee. 'Because it has probiotics, you know?' MGK continued. 'So, like, when you do those water fasts, the only thing that's crazy is it kills all the good bacteria in you, too, so you gotta put the pro[biotics].' His friends declared he was 'healthy as hell' before one quoted a supposed study claiming that 'one seven-day fast removes like 80% of cancer-causing cells from your body'. Metro was unable to verify the existence of this study. The NHS explains on their website: 'Cancer is a condition where cells in the body grow in an uncontrolled way.' Cancer occurs when a cell undergoes a genetic mutation, causing it to divide and grow uncontrollably, so all cells in the body are potentially cancer-causing. MacMillan's website debunks claims that fasting can stop you getting cancer, adding: 'There is no good evidence that fasting reduces overall cancer risk. The cancer charity noted that you can 'help to reduce your risk by keeping a healthy weight and eating a balanced diet' but there is 'no one diet that can prevent cancer.' If you or someone you care about has been diagnosed with cancer, Macmillan can offer support and information. You can contact their helpline on 0808 808 00 00 (7 days a week from 8am to 8pm), use their webchat service, or visit their site for more information. As for MGK's water fasting diet, there are some studies that suggest short periods of time may improve health, but fasting for long periods is detrimental. Heathline acknowledged that 'water fasting may also promote autophagy, a process in which your body breaks down and recycles old, potentially dangerous parts of your cells.' However, 'water fasting has many risks and can be very dangerous if followed for too long.' The outlet added you should not fast for longer than 24-72 hours 'without medical supervision because of health risks.' MGK has previously shared his workout routine with Men's Health, consisting of five sessions per week to keep in shape for his energetic performances. 'When you physically feel good, mentally feel good,' he said, adding: 'I'm not Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, but people should look at me and think, If this guy can get into the gym, I can, too.' More Trending He's also said in the past how ex-partner Megan 'eats super healthy' compared to his menu of 'cheeseburgers'. While on 104.3 The Shark in 2020, MGK said: 'It would be cooler if there was just a soup place that was open all night. I would just order soup all night…isn't soup fire?! 'Soup goes super hard. I was not into the soup game for some years and now I totally get it. It's almost like the adult cereal.' Meanwhile, in 2022, Megan shared she followed a 'super strict' diet – which didn't include gluten, most carbs, alcohol or cigarettes. Got a story?
