Third test between Wallabies and British and Irish Lions delayed by lightning
Shortly after halftime with the Wallabies leading 8-0, and while play had been stopped for a serious head injury to Lions lock James Ryan, a match official entered the field and advised referee Nika Amashukeli to escort the players from the field.
The big screen at Sydney's 90,000-seat Olympic Stadium displayed a message for spectators in rows 1 to 19 to immediately vacate their seats and seek cover on the lower concourses.
Play was expected to resume at 9.50 p.m. local time.
The visitors are 8-0 on their Australian tour and are seeking to be the first Lions squad to record an unbeaten tour since 1974.

But out of nowhere the Bombers rallied with four-straight goals and reduced the margin to 21 with the first two goals of the final quarter, before Geelong kicked clear again. Luke Littler survives a big scare at Australian Darts Masters
LUKE Littler is through to finals day at his latest tournament – but he did it the hard way. Warrington's world darts champion and newly-crowned World Matchplay winner advanced through the first round of the Australian Darts Masters in Wollongong this lunchtime to keep his hopes of a first World Series title of the year alive. However, he was pushed all the way by New Zealand's Haupai Puha, who took the game to a deciding 11th leg before Littler triumphed 6-5. Littler will face home favourite Damon Heta in the quarter-finals tomorrow after the Australian blitzed compatriot James Bailey earlier in the session. It was far from vintage stuff from 'The Nuke,' whose match average was just a shade above 91 while he missed 12 darts at double during a game in which he fell 2-0 behind early. He recovered to lead 3-2, but back-to-back 12-dart legs from Puha allowed him to retake the initiative at 4-3. Littler again found a way to snatch the lead back via a 119 check-out against the throw but after the teenager narrowly missed the bullseye that would have sealed the game with a 'big fish' maximum checkout of 170, Puha stole a break to set up the decider. In that final leg, it was Littler who held his nerve and he pinned double six to seal victory.

Tickford Racing could field NASCAR star in Adelaide Supercars race
Tickford Racing is pursuing a wildcard entry at the final round of the 2025 Supercars Championship in Adelaide in November, which could see it run a yet-to-be-named NASCAR Cup driver. Team CEO Simon Brookhouse said at Queensland Raceway on Friday (8 August) that the team, which runs two Ford Mustangs in the series with Cameron Waters and Thomas Randle, would like to run a third entry in the race. Suggestions are that 2022 Daytona 500 winner Austin Cindric may be in line for the drive, should it come to fruition. 'We'd certainly love to run a programme,' Brookhouse said. 'We tried to do it last year, but the timing just didn't work. Obviously, the NASCAR season finished very close to Adelaide – this year there's a bit of a gap. 'There's a little bit of water going in the bridge and nothing's been confirmed, but we're certainly working towards the possibility of that happening.' Tickford already has a car race-ready and is running it as a wildcard entry at this year's enduros, with Super2 regulars Rylan Gray and Lochie Dalton driving. 'We are working with Ford Performance and they're certainly working through the drivers they think would work best,' Brookhouse continued. Austin Cindric, Team Penske Ford 'Ultimately, we are leaving it in their hands. We're not particular about the driver. We are really partnering with Ford Performance if it goes ahead. 'I think for the relationship between NASCAR and Supercars, there's a great opportunity there to start it. 'It's just my own personal thoughts, that if next year you could have a Toyota, a Chev and a Ford going around with NASCAR drivers, it'd be great. 'If we can build those relationships and have a pathway for our drivers to go there, and have them come back here to showcase their skills, I think in the future, the sport's really rising.' Earlier efforts to bring a NASCAR driver into a wildcard seat have so far come to nought. NASCAR Cup champions Kyle Larson and Kyle Busch have been linked to wildcards in recent years and, while Larson is expected to be in Adelaide this year to race a sprintcar, efforts to place him in a third entry for the PremiAir Racing Chevrolet team have come up short. Cindric, 26, has raced down under before, competing in the 2015 Bathurst 12 Hour, in which he finished seventh in the AA Class in an Erebus Motorsport Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.
