District gears up for Intermediate advanced supplementary exams
Mahabubnagar: The Mahabubnagar district administration is making comprehensive arrangements to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the Intermediate Advanced Supplementary Examinations scheduled from May 22 to May 27.
Chairing a review meeting with officials on Monday at the Collectorate conference hall, Additional District Collector Shivendra Pratap emphasized the need for meticulous planning to avoid any lapses during the examinations. He directed officials from all concerned departments to coordinate effectively and implement necessary measures for the seamless execution of the exams.
The examinations will be held in two sessions each day. First-year exams are scheduled from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while second-year exams will take place from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. A total of 9,069 students are expected to appear for the examinations across the district, which includes 5,787 first-year and 3,282 second-year students from both General and Vocational streams.
To accommodate the students, 19 examination centers have been established. These include ten centers in Government Junior Colleges, one in a Telangana Social Welfare Junior College, and eight in Private Unaided Junior Colleges.
ADC Shivendra Pratap concluded by stressing the importance of conducting the exams in a peaceful and disciplined manner. He urged all departments to cooperate fully and ensure there is no negligence. He also made it clear that mobile phones will not be permitted inside any examination center under any circumstances.

Educational guidance cell set up at Tiruchi Collectorate for students
District authorities in Tiruchi have established a guidance cell-cum-control room on the Collectorate premises to help students decide on their options for higher education and increase enrolment. According to an official release on Monday, the education guidance cell will function under the auspices of the Naan Mudalvan Scheme. The cell would offer counselling on course choices to aspiring students and their families, besides candidates with disabilities, those living in refugee camps, and those from economically weaker sections of society. Applicants who want requisite certificates can approach the cell for assistance. Students who have not passed their higher secondary examinations will be helped to gain admission into job-oriented vocational training courses at polytechnics and Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), said the release. Students would be expected to join only those educational institutions that have been approved by the government. People urged to plant saplings to improve greenery
Bhimavaram: West Godavari district collector Chadalawada Nagarani said that in addition to planting trees to improve greenery, efforts are being made to control plastic pollution. On Thursday, to celebrate World Environment Day, a large-scale programme was taken up in the district to plant saplings and remove plastic waste from canals and drains under 'Vanam-Manam.' As part of this, collector Nagarani, District Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi, district Joint Collector T Rahul Kumar Reddy, DRO Mogili Venkateswarlu, and district officials from various departments enthusiastically participated in the sapling planting programme at Collectorate here. Later, collector Nagarani participated in the programme to remove plastic waste along the Vissakoderu canal and on the footpaths at the overpass on JP Road. She inspected the waste removal work being done in the canals under the auspices of the Irrigation Department and made several suggestions to the irrigation officials. As part of the waste removal, the soil placed on the banks was ordered to be moved to another area in a day or two. She ordered that the waste removal work in the four main canals in Bhimavaram town be completed on a war footing. She advised the municipal and police officials not to allow coconut shells along the canal banks under any circumstances and that action should be taken against this. Speaking on the occasion, collector Nagarani said that a programme to plant 3.85 lakh saplings has been started across the district as part of World Environment Day. Preparations have been made for planting saplings in government offices, places, roads, along the canal banks and panchayat places. She asked the people to be partners in this and to bring about a change in the climate by planting saplings in the house premises and in open spaces outside. She said that nurseries have been developed in Venkataramannagudem, Seetharampuram and Konithivada villages of the district under the supervision of the Forest Department. She said that plants are the oxygen for humans and it is everyone's responsibility to plant trees in large numbers. She said that staff from all departments took part to remove waste in the canals. District Additional SP V Bhima Rao, District Forest Officer D Asha Kiran, and others participated in the programme.
