St. Johns County drug bust nets three arrests, 4 pounds meth, 5 pounds marijuana, cocaine, MDMA, gun
During the search of 924 Puryear St. detectives located drug paraphernalia consistent with drug manufacturing and trafficking, 5lbs of Marijuana, 4+lbs of Methamphetamine, 1.25lbs of Cocaine, 7 ounces of MDMA, and one firearm, a St. Johns County Sheriff's Office social media post states.

A large supply of drug paraphernalia was located during a search of 932 Puryear St.
Arrested were, Megan Adams, 36, resisting arrest without violence, maintaining a drug dwelling, and possession of drug paraphernalia; Charles Wright, 45, outstanding warrant; Noel 'Chris' Tobler, 55, armed trafficking cocaine 28g to 150kg, armed trafficking methamphetamine 14g+, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, maintaining a drug dwelling, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

‘That's scary': Cobb neighborhood on edge after home invasion
A home invasion at The Pynes apartment complex in Cobb County has left residents on edge. A man was bound with tape and held at gunpoint just after 1 a.m. on a Sunday. Police identified Dennis Smith as a suspect in the crime. Smith, a convicted felon, allegedly tied up the victim while an accomplice held him at gunpoint, stealing several bags of clothes, a gaming device, a cellphone and items that belong to someone else in the home, according to the warrant. I live by myself,' said Roger Shockley, a resident of the complex, told Channel 2 Cobb Bureau Chief Michele Newell. 'I'm disappointed that the apartment complex haven't let us know about it. That's very disappointing,' he added. Smith is now facing a long list of charges, including false imprisonment. A number of other neighbors who don't want to be identified told Newell management didn't send them anything about what happened. Shockley, who has lived in the complex for some time, noted, 'In the time that I've been here I've never witnessed heard or anything about type of violent crime like a home invasion.' Newell called and emailed the apartment complex but haven't heard back yet. Jacksonville police tout Downtown homeless effort successes nearly 1 year after public camping ban
It's now been nearly one year since Florida's ban on public sleeping and camping officially went into effect, with local legislation creating penalties across Jacksonville. Leaders with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office say the results have been night and day, in no small part thanks to Downtown Vision's Homeward Bound program. The program is funded by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office solely through money criminally seized, at no cost to taxpayers - relocating people living on the streets in Jacksonville to their hometowns. [DOWNLOAD: Free Action News Jax app for alerts as news breaks] 'I think since October 1st, [we've] spent about $85,000 on that program,' Commander Jimmy Ricks with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said Thursday morning. 'I think that's helped us out tremendously because that gives an opportunity for the homeless person to get back to a support system, their family system that can help them get off their feet.' According to Commander Ricks, the Homeward Bound program has gone hand in hand with local enforcement to tackle public homeless encampments across the city, with over 1,200 warnings and roughly 385 arrests made since the public camping ban went into effect on October 1, 2024. JSO says the efforts have made the streets safer for everyone, though Ricks acknowledged there's still much work to be done. According to the 2025 Point in Time survey – which keeps counts on the amount of people experiencing homelessness – there are still 290 unsheltered homeless individuals across Duval County. 'Do I still get calls every day? Yes, I do get calls every day,' Commander Ricks acknowledged. 'But I do see, as you drive downtown, a lot of people are like, 'hey, what happened?' But what happened was the actual ordinance. Being able to force the law and it's nudging people into those services and I think it's being very successful right now.'
