For some years now, both Spotify and Tidal music streaming services have had a Connect mode. The mode enables users to stream music to their speakers or hi-fi with a direct connection using one app.

Now it's the turn of Qobuz to get the Connect treatment. The French high-resolution music streaming and download platform has announced today that users of a wide range of audio equipment can now access Qobuz Connect. Some of the big names that now support Qobuz Connect include Arcam, Denon, HEOS, Marantz, McIntosh, Rotel and WiiM.
The French streaming service is aimed at music lovers who want ultra-high-quality audio streams.
The new feature transforms the listening experience while offering simplified control and seamless continuity between devices. Qobuz Connect enables users to stream music directly using Qobuz to control their compatible hi-fi devices without the need for third-party applications.
With Qobuz Connect, users can control their music from the Qobuz application without the need to juggle between different remote controls or applications. All users need to do is select an audio device and then control everything directly from the Qobuz app with music streaming directly from the Qobuz servers without being relayed through a smartphone.
Qobuz Connect lets users pick up where they left off and seamlessly switch from one device to another without losing the thread of the music, whether using headphones, hi-fi or wireless speakers, without interruption.

A major live music ticketing app has been bought by a US rival after narrowly avoiding administration, laying bare the difficulties faced by the UK's late-night sector. Dice FM, which sells tickets to concerts, nightclubs and other cultural events, has been acquired by rival platform Fever, just days after filing an official notice that it intended to appoint administrators. Companies do this when they are at risk of going bust and need protection from their creditors while they restructure their finances. A source close to the situation said Dice FM had taken the step as a precaution. The deal will mean that Dice, which runs one of the UK's biggest ticketing apps, becomes part of New York-headquartered Fever. Dice FM says it charges fewer fees and does not allow for tickets to be sold on any secondary market, effectively eliminating scalping, where tickets are bought in bulk and sold on for profit. Its backers have included the investment firm Softbank, the French billionaire telecoms mogul Xavier Niel and Tony Fadell, the American engineer and businessman who became known as the 'father of the iPod' when he was a senior executive at Apple. Mr Fadell joined the board of Dice FM in 2021. Details of the deal or how much was paid for Dice FM have not been revealed. However, the signs that Dice risked administration will add fuel to growing worries over the future of Britain's late-night and cultural industries. Fever was founded in New York in 2014 and offers ticketing services in 200 cities across the world. It is the partner of many major music festivals, including Primavera Sound. Phil Hutcheon, founder and chief executive of Dice, said the deal would allow the company 'to scale even faster' and expand into new cities. Avicenna.ai scoops CE marks for two AI fracture detection tools
French artificial intelligence (AI)-based medical imaging company has secured CE marks for a pair of radiologic screening tools to detect fractures from CT scans. CINA-VCF Quantix is an AI algorithm is used to detect unsuspected vertebral compression fractures (VCFs) in patients undergoing CT scans for unrelated conditions, while CINA-CSpine is designed for the detection and triage of cervical spine fractures. Both tools gained 510(k) clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2024, while the tools' receipt of CE mark follows clearance on five other AI tools in 2024 under the EU's Medical Device Regulation (EU MDR). For use in patients aged 50 and above who are undergoing patients undergoing CT scans of the chest or abdomen for other conditions, CINA-VCF Quantix automatically labels vertebrae and calculates vertebral height loss ratios in the thoracic and lumbar spine. In cases where a vertebral height loss ratio exceeds 20%–25%, a figure indicative of a moderate- to severe VCF, the algorithm generates prompts notifying radiologists to report their early findings in support of proactive patient care, Avicenna stated. co-founder and CEO, Cyril Di Grandi commented: "Osteoporotic vertebral fractures can have a profound impact on patients' quality of life.
