Amar Chitra Katha stories now available as audiobooks on Audible
Agency: PTI Last Updated: New Delhi, Jul 28 (PTI) Audible, a leading platform for audio storytelling, on Monday announced its collaboration with the comic book publisher Amar Chitra Katha for the release of epics and heritage stories from their catalogue as audiobooks across English, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Telugu and Tamil languages. The English-language collection, which is now available for listening, comprises 111 beloved epics and folktales and has been curated from Amar Chitra Katha's most popular stories. 'Amar Chitra Katha tales hold a truly special place in India's cultural fabric… With this collection, we have reimagined that cherished experience for today's generation, breathing life into these timeless stories through immersive narration and sound. Each audiobook has been expertly produced to preserve the essence of the original storytelling, while offering a fresh listening experience," Shailesh Sawlani, country manager (India) at Audible, said in a statement. The English-language collection features titles including the 'Ramayana Series', 'Mahabharata Series', 'Mahadeva Series', and 'Jataka Panchatantra Hitopadesha Series'. The audiobook versions in Hindi are set to launch in September 2025, with additional language editions — including Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, and Telugu — scheduled for release in 2026. Established in 1967 by Anant Pai, Amar Chitra Katha is one of India's oldest and most prominent comic book publishers, boasting a catalogue of over 600 titles in 20 languages that span mythology, history, folklore, fables, and classical Indian literature. Here's a list of must-watch films releasing in theatres in August 2025: Son of Sardaar 2 Featuring Ajay Devgn, Mrunal Thakur and Ravi Kishan in the lead roles, the comedy-entertainer will be hitting the big screens on August 1. Featuring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR and Kiara Advani in the leads, the film is an action-thriller and a part of YRF's popular Spy Universe. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film marks the return of Hrithik as the spy agent Kabir, facing fierce competition with Jr. NTR's Agent Vikram. It will be hitting the big screens on August 14 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. Coolie For the South film lovers, Superstar Rajinikanth is coming up with his highly anticipated action thriller film Coolie, on August 14. Helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film also featured an ensemble cast including Pooja Hegde, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Nagarjuna, Sivakarthikeyan, Upendra Rao and Soubin Shahir. Actor Aamir Khan will also be making a special cameo appearance in the film. Coolie follows the story of an ageing smuggler, Deva (played by Rajinikanth), who uses antique gold watches to reunite his old gang and reclaim his former criminal empire. The plot takes a turn as Deva's plan leads to the formation of a new criminal enterprise, with a focus on crime, greed, and time manipulation. Param Sundari Starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, the romantic-drama film was earlier slated to hit the big screens on July 25, but the makers decided to push back the release to August 2025. However, a final release date of the film is yet to be announced by the makers. Backed by Maddock Films, follows the story of a North Indian boy who falls in love with a South Indian girl, set against the backdrop of Kerala's picturesque backwaters.
