TCS bags RM216.9mil construction contract in Subang Jaya

KUALA LUMPUR: TCS Group Holdings Bhd via its wholly-owned subsidiary TCS Construction Sdn Bhd has secured a RM216.9mil contract from Bandar Raya Developments Bhd's unit, Impiana Impresif Sdn Bhd, for the proposed construction of two blocks of 48-storey commercial services apartments known as Federal Avenue in Subang Jaya, Selangor.
"The contract will boost our order book and give us healthy earnings visibility for the coming financial years.
"Our priority remains on quality execution and
timely delivery of our ongoing projects. At the same time, we continue to be optimistic about the market outlook for the local construction industry, as we continue to see emerging opportunities across both Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia,' said TCS managing director Datuk Tee Chai Seng in a statement.
The contract is for a duration of 35 months.

KUALA LUMPUR, May 3 — TCS Group Holdings Bhd's (TCS) wholly owned subsidiary, TCS Construction Sdn Bhd, has received approval from Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) to resume construction activities for the J. Satine mixed development project in Wangsa Maju here. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the construction group said DBKL has approved the recommencement of work on Phase 3 (SOHO Block) and Phase 2 (Blocks A and B) of the project, following a thorough review and acceptance of the independent check consultant report (independent report). 'Construction on phase 1 (Blocks C and D) will proceed once the necessary foundation strengthening is fully completed and verified by other parties,' it said. TCS director Datuk Tee Chai Seng said the group is pleased with DBKL's decision, which acknowledges the positive findings regarding the safety and stability aspects outlined in the independent report. 'This approval allows us to move forward with the construction of the project, and our commitment to the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity remains unwavering as we resume work. 'TCS will continue to work closely with all stakeholders and comply with the conditions set by DBKL,' he said. On Nov 9, 2024, DBKL issued a stop-work order for the J. (J Satine Facebook pic) PETALING JAYA : Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has given approval for construction work to resume at the J Satine mixed-use development project in Wangsa Maju here, the stock exchange was informed today. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, construction company TCS Group Holdings Bhd told the bourse that its subsidiary TCS Construction had received approval from DBKL for the recommencement of work on Phases 2 and 3 of the project. 'Construction work on Phase 1 would proceed once the necessary foundation strengthening is fully completed and verified by other parties,' the company said, Bernama reported. The announcement comes almost six months after the city issued a stop-work order on Nov 7 following complaints from nearby residents about an explosion at the site. An investigation found cracks in the shear walls, columns, and floors of units on the 8th floor and above. DBKL said the stop-work order would remain in place until the required actions are carried out. 'The cause of the explosion and structural failure will only be determined once the structural integrity report is submitted to DBKL', it said then. J Satine is a mixed-use development project located in Setapak, consisting of 3,600 units of Residensi Wilayah apartments, 661 units of small or home office and 42 commercial units. TCS director Tee Chai Seng said DBKL's decision acknowledged the project's safety and stability outlined in the independent report. TCS will continue to work closely with all stakeholders and comply with the conditions set by DBKL, he said.
