The two additions will join a stacked lineup headlined by local stars Kiefer Ravena, Rhenz Abando, Jason Brickman, Dave Ildefonso, Ange Kouame, Geo Chiu, and reigning NCAA MVP Allen Liwag.
'These are excellent additions to our team,' said head coach Charles Tiu.
'Javi and Ian bring high-level experience and versatility. They'll really complement the core group we already have.'
The 26-year-old Gomez de Liaño is heading into his second year with Korean club Anyang. He posted averages of 8.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in his debut campaign.
American reinforcement Miller, meanwhile, saw action in the Basketball Champions League Asia and was named the MVP in the Asia-East division after averaging 17.9 points on 44.1% shooting, alongside 2.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists.
'He's coming off an impressive run in BCL Asia, so we're excited to bring that firepower to our backcourt,' said Tiu.
SGA will kick off its campaign for back-to-back championships on July 13 against Chinese-Taipei A, followed by matchups against Japan's Under-25 team, Qatar, Australia, Chinese-Taipei B, Malaysia, Bahrain, and UAE.

Carlos Alcaraz survives rough third set to reach Cincinnati Open semis
In the third and final set of his Cincinnati Open quarterfinal match against Andrey Rublev on Friday afternoon, Carlos Alcaraz committed 15 unforced errors and authored three double faults. And, yet, the second-seeded Spaniard found a way to claim a 6-3, 4-6, 7-5 victory over the ninth-seeded Russian in Mason, Ohio. "I maintained positive thoughts all the time, even though I lost focus a few times during the second set," Alcaraz said. "Playing someone like Andrey, when you lose focus on two or three points, it (can) cost you the set or almost the match. I just stayed strong mentally and that's what I'm most proud of." Alcaraz squandered a 5-3 lead in the third set, but then he held his serve and then broke Rublev for the fourth time to set up Saturday's semifinal against No. 3 Alexander Zverev of Germany. Alcarez prevailed, in part, because Rublev made even more miscues in the third set. He racked up five double faults and 17 unforced errors in the third after committing just three double faults and 17 unforced errors in the first two sets combined. That included a double fault on match point that had Alcaraz pumping his fist over his 15th straight victory in an ATP Masters 1000 event. "It's just (about) accepting the moment, accepting that I am playing a third set, accepting that it's going to be a really tough battle, and I love that," Alcaraz said. "It was extreme conditions, but I just love playing in front of this energy. I am just really happy to live these kinds of experiences, so I just remind myself of that in these moments." Zverev maintained his dominance of Shelton, moving to 4-0 against the fast-rising American since their first meeting in Cincinnati last summer with a surprisingly routine 6-2, 6-2 triumph. Shelton seemed to be in control early, leading 40-0 in the third game of the first set. But Zverev took advantage of four consecutive errors, and when a Shelton volley went wide, he had the break he needed. Zverev would earn another break in the fifth game and cruise to the first-set victory. The same pattern repeated itself in the second set, as Shelton was broken in games 3 and 5 and watched his nine-match winning streak come to a screeching halt in only 1 hour, 17 minutes. Zverev only made 13 unforced errors in the match and won 15 of Shelton's 19 second-serve points. Zverev's biggest concern of the night was his own health. He called for the doctor at 2-1 in the second set as he appeared to be struggling with this breathing. "Right now I'm not feeling too great... I'm not sure what happened," the 2021 Cincinnati champion said. "I came out today and probably felt the best I've felt in a few months. Was feeling the ball incredibly well from both sides. In the first set I started feeling not so great and it got progressively worse. But I'm in the semi-finals and I'll do everything I can (to) be 100 percent tomorrow." Zverev leads Alcaraz, 6-5, in the all-time series and they have split outdoor, hard-court matches, 2-2. The two have not faced off since November 2024. --Field Level Media/Reuters

Duplantis defies gravity again, sets pole vault world record for 13th time
Sweden's Mondo Duplantis broke his own pole vault world record with a clearance of 6.29 metres at the Hungarian Grand Prix meeting in Budapest on Tuesday, the 13th time he has set a new world mark as he continues to defy gravity. The double-Olympic champion maintained his tradition of improving on his previous record by one centimetre, with his second attempt at the Istvan Gyulai Memorial overhauling the mark he set in Stockholm in June. Duplantis had looked a little off his best form, missing his first attempt at 6.11 and, after Greece's Emmanouil Karalis retired having failed twice at the same height, the Swede had the bar raised to make his usual world record attempt. The 25-year-old twice world champion was unsuccessful on his first try and while he rattled the bar slightly on his second effort, Duplantis looked up almost in disbelief to see he had again reached a new height in the discipline he dominates. "I love Hungary very much. The track is very good, I love the crowd, I would like to return, thank you," Duplantis said. Duplantis, who won his second world title in the same stadium in 2023, ran straight to the crowd to celebrate with his partner Desire Inglander and his family. On Monday, Duplantis missed most of the press conference ahead of the Budapest meeting, apologising when he turned up late, saying he had a lot of work to do on his time management. "I think I'll have to make up for it tomorrow with a big leap," Duplantis said. He duly stayed true to his word to the delight of the Budapest crowd, and has now soared 15 centimetres higher than Sergey Bubka, who Duplantis once described as 'mythological'. The American-born Duplantis first broke the world record in 2020 in Poland, with his leap of 6.17 surpassing by one centimetre the previous record set by Frenchman Renaud Lavillenie six years earlier. Lavillenie had beaten Bubka's best jump of 6.14, which had stood for almost 20 years, but Duplantis has taken the sport to another level and on Saturday competes at the Silesia Diamond League, where he also broke the world record last year. —Reuters
