Amazing! Meet Mrinal Kutteri who scored full 720/720 in NEET and 99.9% in JEE by NOT just studying but by watching...
Joint Entrance Examination: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), which is considered the entry gate for admission to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), is one of the toughest entrance exams not only in India but in the entire world. Every year, thousands of students from across the country aspire to secure a seat in IIT by clearing both JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams. We are talking about one such extraordinary person who not only cleared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) but also cracked IIT-JEE.
For getting through exams like this, one needs to go through rigourous traning, unmatched dedication and a bit of luck.
Mrinal Kuteeri, who hails from Hyderabad, lives with his parents, younger brother and grandparents. Mrunal developed a keen interest in biology and chemistry since class 8-9. He started preparing for the NEET exam when he was in class 11. In an interview with India Today in 2021, the NEET topper shared, 'I initially wanted to become an army doctor and lead a life full of medicine and adventure, but gradually it changed to an interest primarily in medicine. Also, the pandemic had an impact as it was inspiring to see doctors across the world on the frontlines.'
During the COVID-19 pandemic, many students' learning experiences were affected by the shift from offline to online learning. However, Mrunal initially enjoyed the change when he felt he had a lot of free time when the lockdown began, allowing him to prioritise his interests over his studies. However, he eventually had to go through an adjustment phase before he could re-establish his routine, as it had a detrimental effect on his academic performance.
Unlike many top scorers, he did not follow a strict study regimen. Mrunal admitted that instead of strictly following a schedule, she preferred a flexible approach to studying. She thought that just trying to make and follow a strict timetable would be a waste of time and difficult to follow.
In an interview, the NEET topper shared, 'So, I opted for a free-form and flexible pattern. I set a target for each day and it was up to me to achieve it. There were many days when I couldn't achieve the target, but it wasn't about getting disappointed or discouraged. Being okay with this free form is what I think really helped me.'
Mrinal claimed that his study hours varied on day-to-day basis. He had days when he couldn't study at all, as well as moments when he felt extremely productive. Even though his study schedule varied, Mrinal said that in addition to his study responsibilities, he would often study for four hours every day, and on particularly productive days, he would manage to get up to five hours in, but he never did more than that.
He did not prepare much for KVPY and JEE Main exams in class 12 as compared to his NEET preparation. He cleared his JEE Main exam with 99.9 percentile. Mrinal Kuteri from Hyderabad scored 720 out of 720 to top the NTA NEET 2021 entrance exam and secured All India Rank 1.

More than 150 students attend in grievance redressal meeting in Coimbatore
COIMBATORE: More than 150 students, along with their parents, took part in a student grievance redressal meeting conducted at the Coimbatore district collectorate on Friday. As many as 55 petitions regarding bank loans, certificates, scholarships and NEET training programmes were represented during the meeting. District collector Pavankumar G Giriyappanavar convened the redressal meeting for students who cleared classes X, XI and XII board examinations. In his address, the collector said, 'This is aimed at achieving a 100% higher education enrollment rate. Earlier, career guidance programmes were organised during the month of May for those who have passed their Class XII exam. There are nearly 175 colleges in the district that cover all streams of arts, engineering, medical and law, but not many are aware of the details.' He said a handbook released during the 'Kalloori Kanavu' programme provided detailed information on colleges and courses available, duration of courses, eligibility, total number of seats and other significant details. 'The details are available in copy as well,' he said. The collector said not many students are aware of the Allied Health Science course available and that it has a lot of opportunities. However, to pursue that course, the students should have cleared a science major in Class XII board examination. He advised them to have a vision of the placements and career opportunities ahead of graduation. Get the latest lifestyle updates on Times of India, along with Eid wishes , messages , and quotes !
