Man sentenced for Musikfest shooting
BETHLEHEM, LEHIGH COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A man has been sentenced for his involvement in a shooting that occurred at a 2022 Pennsylvania music festival in Lehigh County.
Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan announced a state prison sentence for a man charged in a shooting at Musikfest in Bethlehem.
The DA stated that Joshua Nathaniel Colon, 26, was sentenced to three to nine years after a plea agreement was reached in the case, due to the victim's refusal to cooperate with the investigation.
Colon, a resident of Bethlehem, pleaded guilty in December 2024, to the following charges;
Aggravated assault
Recklessly endangering another person
Man accused of nearly hitting child during police chase
On August 13, 2022, Bethlehem police responded to a gunshot fired in the Plaza Tropical section of Musikfest located at the intersection of Main and West Lehigh streets.
An investigation determined the shooting happened during a fight between two groups. The victim, Jathaniel Lopez, was shot once in the stomach.
Police said that despite the size of the large crowd in the area attending Musikfest, no other injuries were reported to police after this shooting occurred.

Davison County Sheriff opposing possible prison near Mitchell
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – The sheriff for Davison County is officially opposing the idea of building a new men's prison near Mitchell. Last week, Gov. Harr said prior to last week's task force meeting, he had signed a letter of support for the prison near Mitchell. 'This was done with hopes Davison County would make the final cut and some conversations would start,' Harr wrote. 'It was not done as a statement of 'we need a prison in Mitchell.' Well, as you know, this was successful, as the conversation all over town is on this topic.' Harr said he believes it has become clear there's a large number of residents opposed to a new men's prison being built near Mitchell. 'My job as Sheriff is to look out for the citizens of Davison County and I feel that is what is being done by coming to this decision,' Harr said. 'I would like to thank everyone that has reached out or made your concerns known in other ways.' Woodstock man gets 50 year sentence for family violence conviction
The Cherokee County District Attorney's Office announced that a man was facing a 50 year sentence after negotiating a plea in a family violence case. District Attorney Susan K. Treadaway said that David Ray Graham, 38 of Woodstock, entered a negotiated plea to multiple charges on Thursday, taking a guilty plea for multiple charges related to a domestic violence assault. According to the DA's office, Graham faced eight charges stemming from a sheriff's office investigation in March 2024. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] The DA's office said Cherokee County Sheriff's Office deputies went to Northside Cherokee Hospital after getting a report that a woman had been assaulted in a Woodstock home. While being treated for what the DA's office said were visible injuries, the victim told deputies that Graham had repeatedly punched and kicked her, threatened her with a machete and hammer and held her against her will in the home. 'Domestic violence threatens the safety of all citizens and has no place in our community. For this reason, we remain steadfast in our commitment to pursuing justice for all who are affected,' Treadaway said. 'We commend the Cherokee Sheriff's Office and the staff at Northside Cherokee Hospital for their compassionate response to protect and support the woman assaulted by this defendant.' Man charged with DUI after allegedly driving wrong way on I-91 in Enfield
ENFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — State police say a Massachusetts man was arrested after driving the wrong way on Interstate 91 while under the influence early Saturday morning. Tyzier Virola, 25, of Springfield, Massachusetts was charged with illegal operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, driving wrong way on a divided highway, and improper parking on a highway. Metro-North back to normal after downed wires left passengers stranded The charges stem from about 3:45 a.m. Saturday, when troopers received word of a wrong way driver traveling north in the southbound lanes of I-91. The vehicle was later reported at the bottom of the Exit 49 off ramp, facing the wrong way. While speaking to the driver, troopers said they saw clear signs of impairment, including the odor of alcohol on him. He agreed to do Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, which state police say he failed to perform to standard.
