Kyle Larson loses wheel during NASCAR COTA race

Yahoo02-03-2025

Kyle Larson's No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet lost a key piece of equipment during Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas.
Larson pitted from 12th position during Sunday's NASCAR COTA race then left the pit lane and had the right front tire fall off the car.
The tire rolled off after Larson exited turn 6B at COTA, the new short stretch of the track that brings the drivers to the end of the long backstretch.

The wheel rolled off into the grass and away from the racing surface, allowing the race to stay under the green flag.
If a NASCAR driver has a wheel come off, the driver is hit with a two-lap penalty during the race. After the race, the team will end up with a penalty following the race, including having two crew members being suspended for two or more race weekends.
The EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix NASCAR COTA race is on FOX with Mike Joy, Clint Bowyer and Kevin Harvick in the broadcast booth.
