Bobby Deol, the actor known for his role as Abrar in the action-packed film Animal, has undergone a remarkable physical transformation in recent years. This transformation has made him a subject of admiration among fans and fitness enthusiasts alike. However, Bobby emphasizes that his fitness journey is not solely about looking good on screen but about achieving mental and physical well-being. During a recent interaction, Bobby shared insights into his rigorous fitness routine , diet, and the inspiration behind his transformation.Recently, the actor was spotted at the Mumbai airport, where his bulging biceps were at display. Bobby credits his family for instilling the importance of physical fitness in him from a young age. As per Times of India, he reflects on how his father, Dharmendra, became an iconic symbol of masculinity in Phool Aur Patthar (1966), where he famously went shirtless. 'I remember my father in Phool Aur Patthar, where he removed his shirt for the first time, and he became the symbol of masculinity. He had a very raw physique because he grew up doing a lot of physical activity,' Bobby shared. The actor adds that his father's upbringing, which included physically demanding tasks such as cycling long distances and performing manual chores, played a significant role in shaping his physique. In addition to his father's influence, Bobby also found inspiration in his brother, Sunny Deol, who has always been known for his strong, muscular build. 'We always had a gym in the house,' Bobby recalls, adding that physical fitness was a significant part of their daily lives.Bobby's fitness journey is built on consistency and dedication. For the past five years, he has been training with his personal fitness trainer, Prajwal Shetty. Bobby's daily routine includes weight training and high-intensity cardio sessions to ensure that he remains in top physical condition. He does a 45-minute workout six days a week, with each day dedicated to a specific body part, including chest, back, biceps, triceps, shoulders, and legs. On days when Bobby is on a film set, he pushes himself further, incorporating cardio twice a day and weightlifting to maintain a lean and sculpted body.Discussing the significance of his fitness routine, Bobby highlights its impact on his mental strength. 'Having a good physique builds your confidence, as an actor you need it,' he shared. 'It is not about taking off your shirt but feeling good about yourself.'A balanced diet has been crucial in Bobby's transformation. His fitness trainer, Prajwal Shetty, designed a diet plan that complemented Bobby's intense workout schedule. "Bobby followed a strict diet plan that included a mix of eggs, oatmeal, chicken, fish, and salads," Prajwal explained in an interview with AajTak. Bobby himself acknowledges the importance of sticking to a nutritious diet and shares his love for eggs, which he consumes in large quantities. 'I just love eggs; it's my go-to food,' Bobby says, adding that he often starts his day with coconut water and follows it up with espresso and protein shakes when short on time.Bobby's diet also reflects his childhood preferences, where vegetarian meals like lauki ki sabzi, dal, and roti were staples. However, his current routine includes more protein-rich foods like chicken and fish, along with greens such as broccoli and mushrooms. 'If I don't have time, I just have a protein shake,' he said, stressing the importance of simplicity in his meals. One of the most impressive aspects of Bobby's transformation is his discipline. During the filming of Animal, Bobby's trainer noted that the actor had to increase his muscle mass to match the physically demanding role of Abrar. 'At that time, he was slightly lean, so our goal was to gradually increase his muscle mass. We tailored the entire diet plan accordingly,' Prajwal revealed.Bobby also made significant sacrifices, such as giving up sweets for four months to achieve the desired physique. This dedication to fitness and self-discipline allowed him to achieve his transformation, making him not only physically fit but also mentally prepared to take on more challenging roles in his career.

Ranbir Kapoor's Clean-Shaven Look, Drastic Weight Loss After Animal Leaves Fans Stunned

Last Updated: Fresh off the shoot for Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, Ranbir has shifted gears to begin prep for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming romantic saga Love and War. Ranbir Kapoor is making headlines again and it's not for his film performances, but jaw-dropping transformation. The actor, who had bulked up and sported a rugged beard for his intense role in Animal, was recently spotted looking drastically leaner and completely clean-shaven. The video of his new look has now taken the internet by storm. Fresh off the shoot for Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, Ranbir has shifted gears to begin prep for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming romantic saga Love and War. In a viral clip circulating online, the actor is seen in the city sporting a fresh, clean-shaven face and a slick hairstyle, noticeably slimmer than his Animal avatar. Dressed casually in a red tee and denim from his personal label, Ranbir waved at the paparazzi, posed for pictures, and even handed his cap to one of the photographers before stepping into his car. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Viral Bhayani (@viralbhayani) Fans who were used to seeing his wild, bearded look in Animal were stunned by the dramatic change. In Animal, Ranbir played the ferocious Ranvijay Singh, whose violent journey begins when his father Balbir Singh (Anil Kapoor) is threatened. The film followed his descent into violence and eventual confrontation with his cousin Abrar Haque (Bobby Deol). It ended with a cliffhanger, setting up Animal Park, the upcoming sequel. Interestingly, Ranbir's grungy look in Animal almost didn't happen. Celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim recently revealed that director Sandeep Reddy Vanga was initially against the idea of long hair and beard, fearing it looked too much like Ranbir's appearance in Sanju. 'Had Ranbir's hair and beard not been long in Animal, I don't think his character would have the same impact," Aalim told Galatta India. 'Vanga sir initially said the long hair isn't working… I had to convince him that once the full look was in place, it wouldn't resemble Sanju." Despite criticism for its perceived misogynistic tone, Animal was a blockbuster, earning over Rs 915 crore globally. With Love and War now on the horizon, Ranbir's latest transformation has sparked fresh curiosity about what's in store next. First Published: June 05, 2025, 23:29 IST
