All-faith conference in Goa condemns actions of Pakistan
Sarva Dharma Sadasu, an all-faith conference, was organised in the Raj Bhavan in Goa on May 10. Heads of various religious organisations participated in the event held in the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan.
Delegates collectively condemn the unethical and unwarranted actions of Pakistan against India.
The gathering saw the participation of prominent religious leaders and representatives from Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, Sikhism, and other faiths. The solemn assembly was convened to express unwavering support for the Indian armed forces and the Union Government for their steadfast efforts in defending the nation's sovereignty and integrity.
Goa Governor P. S. Sreedharan Pillai and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant addressed the gathering.
The Governor emphasised the importance of unity and the timeless power of truth. 'Dharma is truth, and truth will always prevail. Ultimately, evil will fail,' he stated, urging all citizens to stand united for the nation.
Religious leaders who spoke at the event included Padma Shri awardee Adhyatm Shiromani Sadguru Brahmeshanand Acharya Swamiji, Rev Fr. Lawrence, Rev Fr. Noel D'Costa, Shri Gurmej Singh and Maulana Mohammed Irfan Raza.
Each speaker expressed heartfelt prayers and messages of support for the soldiers and the central leadership working tirelessly to safeguard India.
The 'Sarva Dharma Sadasu' served as a significant symbol of national unity and spiritual resilience, showcasing that irrespective of religious background, the people of India stand together in the face of external aggression.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday (June 7, 2025) met police officers from Chhattisgarh who played a key role in recent anti-Maoist operations. Congratulating them on the success of these operations, he said that the Union Government is 'committed to freeing India from the menace of Maoism'. The police officers were felicitated for recent operation carried out by the Chhattisgarh Police, including its District Reserve Guards (DRG) units from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Bijapur districts, in the interior areas of Abujhmad from May 18 to 21. On May 21, during an encounter in the forests of Boter village, 27 Maoists, including Communist Party of India (Maoist) general secretary and Polit Bureau member Basavaraju, alias Gaganna, were killed. A huge quantity of arms and ammunition too were recovered. The officers involved in the operation, including Chhattisgarh Director-General of Police Arun Dev Gautam; Additional DGP (Anti-Maoist Operations/SIB/STF) Vivekanand; Inspector-General of Police (Bastar Range) Sundarraj; Superintendent of Police (Narayanpur) Prabhat Kumar; Superintendent of Police (Bijapur) Jitendra Yadav; and Superintendent of Police (Maoist-free Bastar District) Shalabh Singh, were felicitated by Mr. Shah. The event was attended by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai; Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sharma; Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan; Director, Intelligence Bureau Tapan Kumar Deka; and several other senior officials.

New Delhi [India], June 7 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party leader Nishikant Dubey on Saturday hit back at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his accusation that the 2024 Maharashtra assembly election was 'rigged' in favour of the BJP. Dubey urged the Congress leader to read the 1975 judgement of the Allahabad High Court to know how his grandmother and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi 'fixed' and 'stole' the 1971 Lok Sabha elections to win from the Rae Bareli constituency in Uttar Pradesh. 'Rahul Baba, how is the election fixed or stolen? Read the exploits of your grandmother, Indira Gandhi, which is the judgment of the Allahabad High Court,' Dubey said in a post on X. 'The army and its helicopters were used in the 1971 elections. Liquor and clothes were openly distributed during the election of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi 3. Ask for votes in the name of Hinduism. Voters were brought in vehicles. Money is distributed indiscriminately. Government employees engaged in an election campaign. You create the election drama, your family ruins the country, and you will not get the liberty to loot the elections anymore,' he added. In the judgement, the Allahabad High Court held that Indira Gandhi was guilty of electoral malpractices, and disqualified her from holding public office for 6 years. On Saturday, Rahul Gandhi alleged that the Maharashtra assembly election held in November 2024 was 'rigged', and claimed that the same will be repeated in Bihar assembly polls due later this year. In a post on X, Gandhi shared his article published in a newspaper, explaining the 'rigging' in the Maharashtra assembly polls. 'Maharashtra assembly elections in 2024 were a blueprint for rigging democracy. My article shows how this happened, step by step,' Gandhi said on X. The former Congress President explained a five-point process. He said that step one includes rigging the panel that appoints the Election Commission, followed by adding fake voters to the electoral roll. He further claimed that the next steps include inflating the voter turnout, targeting the bogus voting exactly where the BJP needs to win and hiding the evidence. 'Step 1: Rig the panel for appointing the Election Commission; Step 2: Add fake voters to the roll; Step 3: Inflate voter turnout; Step 4: Target the bogus voting exactly where BJP needs to win; Step 5: Hide the evidence,' Gandhi said. He further labelled rigging as 'match-fixing', saying that the side cheats might win the game but damage institutions and destroy public faith in the result. Himanta Biswa Sarma invokes 1950 law to fast-track deportation, bypassing foreigners tribunal
Guwahati: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that for identification of illegal immigrants it does not require to go the foreigner's tribunal and Supreme Court in one of its orders has stated that Immigration expulsion order is still in force and as per this law Deputy Commissioner can immediately order push back of illegal immigrant. Sarma while talking to media people said, 'The constitutional bench of Supreme Court while hearing the 6A of the citizenship Amendment Act has stated that it is not always necessary for the Assam government for deportation of foreigners to go to the foreigner's tribunal. The Immigrants (Expulsion from Assam) Order, 1950 — is an old law and the Supreme Court has stated that this law is still in force.' He added, 'As per the law, the Deputy Commissioner can order expulsion of foreigners. We did not know about this provision and our lawyers had not informed us about this provision.' He added, 'The whole thing will be discussed. Push back will continue and identification of foreigners which was on halt due to the National Register of Citizens (NRC) update will now gain momentum and the process will be expedited . The moment one is identified we will not send the same to foreigners' tribunal we will push them back.' Sarma had recently said that only declared foreigners are being pushed back as per the law. Live Events A video had emerged in the 'no man's land' along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Assam's South Salmara Mankachar district, Where Khairul Islam's claimed that he is an Indian national and being deported to Bangladesh. Islam was among nine persons arrested by Morigaon police on May 24 in a crackdown on illegal immigrants declared by the Foreigners' Tribunal, but who had been avoiding deportation. Sarma had said, 'In meeting with SPs in Dergaon we have decided that we will fast track the process of detection of foreigners'. Islam was declared a foreigner by the Foreigners Tribunal in 2016, a decision he challenged in the Gauhati High Court. The High Court upheld the FT's ruling, leading to his detention in 2018. Family members of Islam said that appeal against the FT decision is pending before the Supreme Court.
