Travel influencer slammed over ‘not nice' hack for getting comfy when flying: ‘Very inconsiderate'
That's how to make your foot fall asleep.
Airplane passengers are constantly devising ways to make cramped coach seats more comfortable, from the controversial 'seatbelt sleep method' to using a seat cloth to make a hands-free phone holder.
However, one enterprising flyer has faced backlash after demonstrating how to make a makeshift hammock for her feet — with critics dubbing this hack inconsiderate to other passengers.
'I've never tried keeping my feet up like this before while traveling, but it really helped!' gushed globetrotter Nicole Lazo in the viral clip's caption. 'I was super comfortable and slept great!'
Lazo frequently shares travel tips on her Instagram, posting about everything from the best neck pillows for long flights to converting currencies via the calculator app.
For her latest tutorial, the content creator explained how weary travelers could use the complimentary blanket to MacGyver a cot for their trotters.
Lazo showed how passengers can simply roll up the blanket — although this can be done with a scarf or other thin fabric in a pinch, per the influencer — and knot it in the middle.
They then pull the tray table out partway and loop the blankie around it, making sure to stretch out the bottom so it forms a stirrup shape.
Lazo demonstrated how easy it is to rest one's feet in the makeshift footrest per the clip.
However, she ran afoul of the ever-merciless Instagram critics, who claimed she was sacrificing other passengers' comfort for her own.
'That's a disturbance to the person sitting on that seat. Not nice,' accused one, while another wrote, 'The flight attendant should stop this kind of inconsiderate act. Unless they are paying for the front seat too . Very inconsiderate.'
Even industry insiders criticized Lazo. 'The person sitting in front definitely feels that,' said one former crew member. 'As a previous flight attendant, I'd not allow — I'd say that's not cool.'
Others expressed concerns that the sling could put an unnecessary strain on the tray table.
'You can break the table with your weight/pull,' declared one.
However, others felt that commenters were overreacting to a savvy hack. 'This is genius!! I'm short and this would be so comfy instead of barely touching the floor,' gushed one fan.
This isn't the first time passengers have come under fire for attempting to make their coach seat more like first class.
Flight attendants have been sounding alarm bells over the seatbelt sleep hack, in which flyers curl their legs up onto the seat and then fasten the seatbelt around their legs to prevent them from slipping off the seat once they nod off.
'If it's attached to your ankles, this could put you in a life-threatening situation as you take extra time to first unbuckle and rebuckle your seatbelt,' warned Michael Wallace, travel expert and CEO of Greenback Expat Tax Services. 'If the plane hits turbulence that causes you to lean forward at an increased rate, colliding with the seat in front of you and your knees can lead to two very different outcomes.'
He added that a sudden jolt could even cause the passenger to knee themself in the face, potentially causing a concussion.

How Mateus Asato changed gears from sideman and Instagram guitarist to fully-fledged artist
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. It's a truth universally acknowledged that social media can make or break you. In Mateus Asato's case, social media has proven to be a way for him to carve a path to the higher echelons of the music industry, leading to an ever-evolving résumé that includes names like Bruno Mars, Tori Kelly, Jessie J, Joe Satriani, and John Petrucci, as well as a signature guitar with Suhr. However, back in 2016, Asato's role as an A-list sideman left him questioning his future. While traveling to South Korea for a guitar clinic – and confronted with real-life human beings who had discovered him through Instagram and were actually invested in his personal career – he realized there was tremendous potential to switch gears from 'sideman' to 'artist.' 'I had no idea of the impact that these little Instagram videos were having until I actually went to South Korea,' he tells 'There were 500 people there just to see this 'Mateus Asato guy'. That totally changed the game for me: 'Wait a minute, I play for an artist… but also there's a big potential for me to just do my own stuff'.' Working on his own material has been far from easy, however. Discussions with friend and producer Matt Mainhard made him realize that 'it's not okay to just have a list of songs. We gotta have a theme. We gotta have some sort of concept, or something that will tell you where to go'. As for what we can expect from his hotly anticipated debut record, Asato sums it up as, 'The album is definitely a journey through all the sides of Mateus. The Mateus who's a sideman, Mateus as the Instagram boy, and then the Mateus that got more mature over the years. Who developed a different vision regarding music, regarding how I see guitar.' So-called 'Instagram guitarists' have been in hot water recently, with the Giacomo Turra controversy putting into question the lengths some go to to achieve virality and reap the benefits that guitar stardom offers.

Dua Lipa Confirms She's Engaged To Callum Turner — & Talks Starting A Family
Dua Lipa has finally confirmed her engagement to Callum Turner. Dua Lipa and Callum Turner spent New Years Eve together, and based on the giant ring Dua's wearing on THAT finger, it looks like they could be spending the rest of their lives together too! This celebrity couple were first spotted together in January 2024, and immediately became my favorite couple, like, ever. Engagement rumors were flying by the end of the year, and thanks to some of Dua Lipa's Instagram posts, the internet is more convinced than ever that these two will be headed down the aisle. And in June 2025, Dua Lipa finally confirmed the two will be tying the knot soon. Here's what she had to say! Yes, Callum Turner and Dua Lipa are engaged! The actress tells that 'yes, we're engaged,' and that 'it's very exciting.' I don't know about y'all but I'm thrilled. 'This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don't know, be best friends forever – it's a really special feeling,' she continues, and they're in no rush. 'Callum's shooting, so we're just enjoying this period. I've never been someone who's really thought about a wedding, or dreamt about what kind of bride I would be. All of a sudden I'm like, 'Oh, what would I wear?'' However, it sounds like Dua can't stop thinking about her ring. 'I'm obsessed with it. It's so me," she adds. "It's nice to know the person that you're going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well.' And will the couple be starting a family anytime soon? The singer admits 'it's like the constant question of when would there ever be a good time – how it would fit in with my job and how it would work if I went on tour, and how much time out I'd have to take." 'I think it's just one of those things that's going to happen when it happens," she continues. "I love kids, but I think there's so much more to raising a child than just loving children." Dua Lipa and Callum Turner made their red carpet (er, blue carpet) debut at the 2025 Met Gala in complementary black outfits. Dua's sheer bodice and feathered skirt, plus her slick hairstyle, was giving contemporary flapper, while Callum looked dapper in a black suit and white tie. Peep Dua's ring on THAT finger! In a post celebrating the holidays, Dua Lipa posted a roundup of photos — led by a shot of her wearing a sherpa jacket and reindeer antlers. But as fun as her outfit is, the internet immediately focused on another detail: her new ring. It appears to be a diamond on a chunky gold band, and if you ask me, the ring's modern, glam look is the perfect vibe for the "Houdini" singer. "THE RING," one user commented, while another user said, "ENGAGED VIBESSSSSSSSSS," under another . And when Dua Lipa finally posted photos from her epic New Year's Eve celebration on January 3, a third user commented, "We all still waiting to see the 💍." TLDR; the singer's fans really want to know if she's engaged! But if there's one thing I know for sure, it's that this couple won't tell us unless they want to. And I'm here for it! Dua Lipa and Callum Turner keep their relationship pretty private (aside from some very cute walks), but according to one source, they've been "mad about each other" from the start. And it's clear because these two can't keep their hands off each other! "Dua and Callum are so in love and know this is forever," a source told in December 2024. 'They are engaged and couldn't be happier. Dua has had one of the best years of her career professionally and this is the cherry on the cake." "Callum is such a solid support for Dua and they make a wonderful couple," the source continues. "Their family and friends are so happy. It's been an amazing Christmas for them.' Stay tuned for the latest news on Dua Lipa and Callum Turner's engagement, and read up on ! This post has been updated.

Todd Chrisley breaks social media silence after 2 years: Here's what he said
Todd Chrisley breaks social media silence after 2 years: Here's what he said Show Caption Hide Caption Todd Chrisley speaks after Trump pardon, release from prison Reality TV star Todd Chrisley made his first public statement after he and his wife Julie received a pardon from President Donald Trump. Todd Chrisley has broken his social media silence for the first time since he went to prison for bank fraud and tax evasion. On June 12, the 56-year-old "Chrisley Knows Best" star took to Instagram to celebrate one of his children's achievements. Youngest son Grayson Chrisley, 19, made the dean's list after his first semester at the University of Alabama. "God is good all the time, @graysonchrisley," Todd captioned his post. "I love you to the moon and back and we couldn't be more proud, you have shown great character and fortitude and stood with your lord and savior amidst the fire and came out the other side never smelling of smoke, you are proof of (God's) word." The caption continued, "Stand tall, stand true and stand for your fellow brothers in Christ. I love you Gray Gray." More than 14,000 undergraduate students who earned a GPA of at least 3.5 made UA's dean's list in the spring semester; those who earn a 4.0 end up on the president's list. Fall semester enrollment totaled around 34,000 students, with spring enrollment numbers not yet released. Where does Grayson Chrisley go to college? Older sister Savannah Chrisley, 27, announced Grayson was moving to college in January. She shared clips from move-in day, captioning the post, "And just like that… my baby brother is off to college. Moving Grayson into the University of Alabama this weekend has been one of the hardest and most beautiful moments of my life. The past two years, Gray had every reason to give up, but instead, he showed up for himself and for the people he loves." Savannah continued, "We've never been apart… ever. And my heart feels like it's shattered into a million pieces. But my overwhelming sadness is matched only by the pride I feel watching him chase his dreams." What happened to Julie and Todd Chrisley? Todd's post came more than two weeks after he was released from FPC Pensacola in Florida, where he'd served more than two years of his nine-year prison sentence, following a full pardon from President Trump. When asked during a May 30 press conference whether he had any remorse for the crimes for which he was convicted, Todd said, "I'd have remorse if it was something that I did." In June 2022, Todd and wife Julie Chrisley, who portrayed themselves as real estate tycoons in the South on their USA Network shows, were found guilty of conspiring to defraud community banks in Atlanta out of more than $36 million. The pair was accused of running a scheme that, through fraudulent loans, defrauded the IRS and committed tax evasion. Julie Chrisley was additionally convicted of obstruction of justice and wire fraud. Trump pardons reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley President Trump called Savannah Chrisley from the Oval Office in the White House to tell her he wanted to pardon her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley. Todd Chrisley was initially sentenced to 12 years in prison, while Julie Chrisley received a seven-year sentence, and both reported to their respective federal prisons in January 2023. On May 27, Trump called the Chrisleys' middle daughter, Savannah Chrisley, to let her know her parents were "going to be free and clean, and I hope we can do it by tomorrow." When Savannah took the podium at the May 30 press conference, she announced that the "Chrisley Knows Best" stars would be returning to reality television. Filming has apparently already begun on a new show that will document the reunification of Todd and Julie Chrisley.
