Atomic Kitten singer Liz McClarnon, 44, pregnant with first child
Liz McClarnon has admitted she is 'petrified' ahead of welcoming her first child after having two miscarriages.
As a teenager Liz joined the girl group Atomic Kitten alongside Kerry Katona and Natasha Hamilton.
The group – who later had Jenny Frost join after Kerry left – scored three number-one hits – Whole Again, Eternal Flame, and The Tide Is High – plus two number-one albums.
However last year Liz was left as the only member of Atomic Kitten after the other two quit.
A year on Liz has revealed some exciting news in her private life.
Earlier this month the 44-year-old admitted she'd 'been keeping a secret'. https://www.instagram.com/p/DJl4ETfq575/?hl=en
'I've mostly kept myself off social media because sometimes it was hard to smile. But after years of sometimes quite painful IVF quite dark times…I'm pregnant,' she captioned a video, which showed her sitting in a park cradling her bump.
'I started to record a video of me just telling you but I got too emotional, so I thought I'd just hide behind this little announcement instead. I just can't believe we're here,' she continued.
'So many have been through exactly what I went through and worse. ❤️ I want to share what I can and add my voice and ears to those who already help others understand or deal with all that comes with IVF and loss after so much hope. I've been a part of some beautifully supportive communities. I'm so grateful.'
The singer is expecting her first child with husband Peter Cho, a doctor she met on a dating app during the pandemic.
Four months later they moved in together and four months after that the couple were engaged.
Early in their relationship they began the IVF process as both wanted children and were aware her being 40 might delay the natural process.
However, in 2022 they had three failed embryo transfers, and last year she suffered two miscarriages after the first successful cycles.
In an interview with The Mirror, Liz said she decided to share her fertility struggles following 'dark times'.
'The whole process made me truly appreciate that having a baby is a miracle,' she said.
'When it doesn't work, you're just in shock.
'I felt so bad emotionally, it was really tough.'
But Liz said she was now 'loving life' and was excited to find out the sex of her baby.
She did joke about her nerves though too.
'My knees already hurt. Don't get me wrong, I'm so grateful, but I'm also petrified. But you know what? It's happened to women older than me before, and it'll happen again – so we'll just get on with it!,' she said.
When sharing her pregnancy publicly, Liz was flooded with many messages of support – including from her former bandmates.
'Literally couldn't be any happier for you both! After all you've been through, this little miracle is everything,' Natasha wrote.
'The best news ever …. You have been through it girl but never lost faith in what you knew was meant to be 🤍 Beyond happy for you both,' Jenny added. More Trending
Liz and Peter married in 2023, but she only revealed his identity to her followers when they celebrated their first wedding anniversary last year.
After sharing photos with her husband's face covered by confetti soon after their wedding, she paid tribute to Peter a year later.
Sharing a photo of them together, she wrote: 'Guess what?! I've been married to my perfect match for a whole year, I love you Peter Cho!'

Corrie's Lauren and Betsy talk close bond, unplanned twist and 'chaos' ahead
Coronation Street stars Cait Fitton and Sydney Martin have revealed all on their growing friendship on and off screen, while their characters weren't initially meant to be paired There's more "drama" and "fun" in store for Coronation Street 's Lauren Bolton and Betsy Swain, as their blossoming friendship leads to plenty of chaos. But the stars playing them have their own budding friendship away from the ITV soap, with actresses Cait Fitton and Sydney Martin praising each other, saying it feels like they were "separated at birth". Speaking exclusively to The Mirror at the British Soap Awards, the fan favourites shared all on what it's like filming together, and getting to play friends on the show, while being close in real life. In fact the dynamic duo told us the twist with Lauren and Betsy becoming pals almost didn't happen, and could have gone a different direction. Luckily for the girls soap boss Kate Brooks gave it a try and soon fell in love with the friendship formed in scenes. Of course the characters have had the odd fight in some classic soap drama, and there's more chaos ahead it seems. But Cait and Sydney told us viewers would get to see the bond onscreen grow, with Lauren and son Frankie going to very much be a part of the family dynamic with Betsy, mum Lisa Swain, stepmother Carla Connor and there loved ones. Sydney told us of what's ahead for the duo: "A little bit of drama," with Cait agreeing: "We have, there's always drama." Sydney confessed she often overshared when it came to spoilers, but Cait told us: "I feel like we overshare on our own but when wer'e together we're alright, so you've got us at a good time." Sydney added there was "drama and a bit of fun" on the cards, with Cait promising "lots of fun" for the duo onscreen. Sydney shared how they often go to the director with some ideas hoping for some "funny" scenes, while they both agreed tomato ketchup possibly wasn't the best idea after Cait stained Sydney's hair with the condiment during a scene with Roy Cropper. But asides the hilarity, there's also plenty more plots on the way for both characters and we will see them grow closer as pals. Cait shared: "I think to come you'll see changes for both of them but also a genuine friendship. "They are very different but also similar. As soon as I found out I was working with Sydney I was like yes! People are gonna like me now!" Cait had nothing but praise for her friend too, and the feeling was mutual. Cait said: "I love working with her it's amazing. She has such an amazing aura about her and I learn a lot form her." Sydney gushed back: "Likewise, she's there for me all the time," commenting on their "forever" friendship, with Cait adding they always say they were "separated at birth" Cait also revealed that the stuff with Lauren and Betsy almost didn't happen. Corrie boss Kate added it into an episode as a trial run not knowing what to expect, but soon it proved to be a hit and Kate "loved it". Now the girls are working on a joint name, with Cait coming up with Team Bauren which Sydney backed, as did we. The girls promised the drama and friendship for the pair would be ongoing, as Sydney commented on the "growing" family dynamic between Betsy and those closest to her.

Brooklyn Beckham's savage comment which is brutal 'dig' to dad David
Brooklyn said that the name behind his brand was inspired by his marriage. Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz's most recent interview has certainly got tongues wagging as they made their loyalties crystal clear. This comes following the rumours that there is an ongoing family feud between Brooklyn and the rest of the Beckham clan. The budding chef reportedly distanced himself from his famous family after a series of rows, and a startling new comment suggests he's now trying to scrub his footballer father from his personal history, writes The Mirror. The 26-year-old initially appeared to be offering an olive branch to dad David Beckham, with the name of his new hot sauce range, Cloud23, previously said to be a "warm nod" to their relationship. On the official website for the sauce, a member of Brooklyn's team replied to a query about the name, they said: "The 23 included in our brand is a warm nod to Brooklyn's father, David Beckham, who wore number 23 while playing for Real Madrid and LA Galaxy, inspired by NBA legend Michael Jordan." However, when Brooklyn was asked in the interview with Glamour Germany, he gave a very different response, which snubbed his father completely. He said: "The 23 stands for our engagement date and my age back then." Elsewhere in the interview, Brooklyn, 26, showed off his many tattoos, which have a lot of personal meaning and tributes to his family. The inkings include David's birth year, 1975, inked on his thumb and the words 'mama's boy' are emblazoned across his chest. He also has an etch of the initials DVBRCH, representing 'David, Victoria, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper'. The family tattoos weren't mentioned in the interview, however his ink tributes to Nicola were. Brooklyn told the publication: "Some mean a lot to me, like Nicola's eyes on my neck or our wedding vows." Nicola, 30, added: "I love it when Brooklyn gets tattoos that have a special story. He also got my mother's rosary tattooed on his hand." The news of a family rift began when Brooklyn and Nicola snubbed David's 50th birthday celebrations, despite being in London. Mum Victoria is reported to be 'struggling' with the rift as Brooklyn is "always going to be her baby." A source told the Mirror: 'He's her first-born and they've always had a wonderful relationship, she feels like Nicola has taken over and it's really tough to deal with as a mother. "She's very family-oriented, so it's a worry that Brooklyn and Nicola will start their own family and Victoria won't have contact with her first grandchild – it's a devastating thought." This follows reports from sources close to the Beckham family claiming that Brooklyn is known as 'the hostage' in his marriage to Nicola, after publicly declaring his love for his wife, in a recent video. The video showed Brooklyn driving on a motorbike, while wife Nicola wrote on the back in Beverly Hills. The caption read: "My whole world x I will love you forever x I always choose you baby x you're the most amazing person i know xx me and you forever baby." The message appeared to be pointed at the family feud. The video was the first public move either Brooklyn or Nicola has made in relation to the reported divide within the famous family.
