Bloomberg Surveillance: A Conversation With Andrew Cuomo (Correct)
Andrew Cuomo, the front-runner in New York's Democratic mayoral primary, said raising taxes on the city's wealthiest residents would cause an exodus to states like Florida and Texas. 'You elect a socialist who tries to give everything away free, doubles the taxes on the wealthy, and the wealthy say, 'That's it I'm gone,'' Cuomo, the former governor of New York, said in an interview on Bloomberg Radio on Monday. His comments were a reference to Queens Assembly Member Zohran Mamdani, who is currently running in second place in some polls. Mahmdani, who has the backing of the New York City branch of the Democratic Socialists of America, has vowed to freeze rents and make city buses free by raising the state corporate tax rate and imposing a new 2% income tax on city residents who earn more than $1 million a year. The moves would require state approval.

Bagel shop inside Dearborn Ford dealership gains cult following
Inside the Village Ford Parts and Service Center in Dearborn, Michigan, you can get more than just new tires and an oil change. Through the doors and to your left is Brazen Bagels. "New York-style delicatessen. All traditional. All correct," said Jacob Anson, co-owner of Brazen Bagels. Brazen Bagels has been operating in this space for two years. "We've done very well, and Dearborn just wrapped their arms around us like they've embraced us entirely," Anson said. Anson says his wife, Megan, is the inspiration behind the business. "My wife, she likes bagels. I was trying to get her a good one," Anson said. After developing the perfect recipe, the couple started selling bagels from home and at a local pop-up. "Everything I didn't sell, I took to businesses all around me. Just try my bagels," Anson said. One of those businesses was Village Ford. "They got a great product, and we needed to get somebody in here for our dealership. And it was just a perfect opportunity," said Jay Sturtz, general sales manager of Village Ford. Word has spread, and now there's a devoted following of regular customers. "I just stumbled in here, and I saw this sign outside and came in and tried it. The best bagels I ever had," said Ahmad Hammoud, owner of Big Red's Barbeque Pit. "Him and his wife are great people, so I will support them forever." In 2024, the shop hosted a fundraiser for humanitarian aid in Lebanon. "They support our community, and we have to make sure that as residents of Dearborn, residents of Metro Detroit, we support any business that is supporting the community," said Amer Zhar, a regular customer. Anson arrives at work at 4 a.m. and says Brazen Bagels focuses on quality. "I start rolling. I'm rolling all day until close. I'm baking and rolling about 120 dozen a week. I just keep it moving, and my team is amazing," Anson said. "Everything's very intentional and simple, no frills, no gimmicks, brown paper bag, like the sandwich is the star. The ingredients are organic, with halal options on the menu. "We're a husband and wife company based on quality, nothing else, and everything's organically grown. You probably heard about us. You probably didn't, you probably didn't see, like, a social media campaign or a big sign or anything, but just believe the hype," Anson said. If you're at Village Ford for an oil change or just hungry for some good food, come check out Brazen Bagels.

How NYC's Ranked-Choice Voting System Looms Over Mayoral Race
New York City's mayoral contest has had plenty of drama ahead of the June 24 vote. The incumbent mayor, Eric Adams, decided not to participate in the Democratic primary in the wake of a corruption scandal and is running instead as an independent. The front-runner, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, is attempting a political comeback after leaving office in 2021 following multiple allegations of sexual harassment. And Cuomo's closest challenger for the Democratic nomination is Zohran Mamdani, a 33-year-old democratic socialist who has drawn attention for his harsh critiques of Israel's conduct in Gaza. On top of that, New Yorkers will be using a system, ranked-choice voting, that is still unfamiliar to many. The system, which allows voters to identify their top five candidates from favorite to least favorite, is in contrast to how most elections in the US are conducted. Traditionally, each voter selects one candidate, and the person with the most votes wins. But ranked-choice voting is gaining popularity in the US, and the June 24 vote marks the second time Democrats in New York have used the system in a mayoral primary.

Terry Moran out at ABC News following X post attacking Trump, Stephen Miller
ABC News correspondent Terry Moran is leaving the network after he took aim at President Donald Trump and top White House aide Stephen Miller in a now-deleted post on X. "We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran and based on his recent post – which was a clear violation of ABC News policies – we have made the decision to not renew," a spokesperson for ABC News confirmed to Fox News Digital. "At ABC News, we hold all of our reporters to the highest standards of objectivity, fairness and professionalism, and we remain committed to delivering straightforward, trusted journalism," the spokesperson added. Moran found himself in hot water both inside and outside the Disney-owned network when he called Trump and Miller "world-class" haters early Sunday morning. Moran, who's been with the network since 1997, was initially suspended after ABC News honchos woke up to the viral backlash.
