Stevie Wonder Shares Poignant Response to Longstanding Rumor He's Not Really Blind
Wonder – who has been performing since the age of 11 and scored his first Hot 100 chart-topper with 'Fingertips' at 13 – has long been noted for his status as a blind man, having lost his vision weeks after his birth.

However, his prolific output and tireless work in the music industry over the past 64 years has resulted in a half-serious theory that Wonder can in fact see. Though often shared as a tongue-in-cheek rumor, Wonder's ability to navigate the world around him has resulted in many of these theories coming to light.
In 2019, former NBA player Shaquille O'Neal shared a tale of Wonder recognizing him in an elevator, while comedian and actor Anthony Anderson once recalled how he challenged Wonder to a basketball game. 'What y'all don't know is, Stevie can see,' he told Stephen Colbert in 2016. 'It's just an act.'
Now, at a recent tour stop in Cardiff, Wales for his Love, Light & Song U.K. tour, Wonder used an opportunity to speak to the crowd to dispel the enduring speculation.
'I must say to all of you, something that I was thinking, 'When did I want to let the world know this?' But I wanted to say it right now,' Wonder began. 'You know there have been rumors about me seeing and all that? But seriously, you know the truth.
'Truth is, shortly after my birth, I became blind,' he continued. 'Now, that was a blessing because it's allowed me to see the world in the vision of truth, of sight. See people in the spirit of them, not how they look. Not what color they are, but what color is their spirit?'
Wonder has not released a new studio album since 2005's A Time to Love, though since 2008, he has spoken about a new project titled Through the Eyes of Wonder, which has been described as a performance piece that will reflect his experience as a blind man.
'What I want to do with our live performances is to create visuals that [give] my take on how I see the world and how most various things affected me,' he explained at the time.

Draya Michele reveals true feelings on Jalen Green's Suns trade
The post Draya Michele reveals true feelings on Jalen Green's Suns trade appeared first on ClutchPoints. Draya Michele is sharing how she feels amid her boyfriend, Jalen Green, trade from the Houston Rockets to the Phoenix Suns. In the blockbuster trade, Kevin Durant was traded from the Suns to the Rockets for Green, Dillon Brooks, the 10th overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft, and five second-round picks. 'Well this was my first time experiencing a trade,' Draya told The Post. 'I just think, you know, as his girlfriend, my main responsibility is to support him wherever we were going. Draya and Green have been dating since 2023 and share a daughter together whom they welcomed in 2024. 'I always make the jokes with him and tell him, 'I don't care what city you're in, we could go to hell and play for the hell… and I'll go with you, as long as I have a good SPF… it doesn't matter where we are, if we have each other we'll make the best of it.' It's really just putting families together with their dream cars and making things convenient and also luxurious.' Despite having to make new living arraignments, the model is making the most of it and is looking to find a place to settle down in soon. 'Luckily [Phoenix] is an amazing city,' she said. 'We were not disappointed with Phoenix at all. But I just need to be supportive of him and of the change and then just try to make things as smooth of a transition [as possible] for him, and not stressing him out with the worries of moving and all that.' The mom of three — Draya has two sons which she shares one with former NFL player Orlando Scandrick — shares that she is going to be in charge of finding them a place while Green settles into his new role on the Suns. 'He's not gonna have to lift the finger. I'll handle all of that so that he can just relax and play basketball. Once he gets there, he won't have anything else to worry about. And that's just really what I try to focus on: keeping things convenient and easy for him.' What Has Jalen Green Said About The Trade? Green shared he was 'hurt' by the news but had a 'feeling' that the Rockets were going to trade him. 'Yeah, I had a feeling. They've been trying to trade me since last year,' Green responded after being asked if the trade was unexpected per The Houston Chronicle. 'I'm not tripping. It's for the better of the team. I know it's a business at the end of the day. I really can't handle how I feel. Whatever happens, happens. At the end of the day, I still got the opportunity to play basketball.' Green got his start in the NBA with the Rockets after being drafted by the team in 2021. 'It hurts,' Green said (via The Arizona Republic's Duane Rankin). 'Houston is home to me and will forever be home to me. I started my NBA career there, and I've built a lot in that situation. However, he is making light of the situation but was expected given the nature of the league. 'Obviously it's sad to leave, but it's a business though, you've got to understand that when you coming into the NBA.' Despite initially feeling hurt about the situation, he is ready for his start with the Suns and has big goals for his time there. 'The hunger is already there,' Green said in an interview with Duane Rankin. 'I've made it the playoffs already as it is. I may have not performed how I should've performed, but at the end of the day, the goal is to be in the playoffs every year. I got a taste of it now. There's no reason I shouldn't have the goal to get back.' Related: Bradley Beal's plans for 2026 free agency after signing with Clippers Related: The $210 million impact of Bradley Beal buyout

Ciara is preparing for the release of her anticipated CiCi album, which arrives Aug. 22. Prior to the LP, the singer sat down for an exclusive Billboard Family interview with her 8-year-old daughter Sienna. Ciara and her bubbly daughter spoke at length about the forthcoming album, which has origins dating back to the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. 'It's really an extra special gift for my fans,' she added. The next question drew a laugh out of Ciara when Sienna took it upon herself to answer if her mom should ever work with her husband, Russell Wilson, on music. 'No, Dad is crazy,' Sienna said. 'His singing's a little off. Seriously, I'm telling the truth.' Ciara tends to agree. 'I think it is best that Dad plays football and Mommy does music,' she suggested. The Grammy-winning artist teased collabs with Latto and Jazze Pha on CiCi, which also boasts features from Lil Baby, Busta Rhymes, Big Freedia, Bossman Dlow and Chris Brown, according to the Apple Music track list. The 39-year-old highlighted some of her favorite collaborations from over the years of her decorated career, such as team-ups with Missy Elliott ('Lose Control'), Chris Brown ('How We Roll') and Ludacris ('Oh'). Watch Liam Payne Belt Out One Direction With ‘Building the Band' Audience in Joyous New Clip: ‘That Was So Fun'
Nine months after Liam Payne died at age 31, his still-grieving fans can find a beacon of light in a new clip shared by Building the Band, the Netflix reality competition series the One Direction star filmed before his tragic death. In the clip, 'What Makes You Beautiful' — the 2011 breakthrough hit for the X Factor-formed boy band One Direction — plays in the studio while Payne films with the Breaking the Band judging panel in front of a live audience. Payne gives a sly smile and taps his fingers as the crowd passionately sings along to the upbeat smash before standing up out of his chair to rapturous applause and beginning to perform the song onstage. The best part: You can hear Payne clearly singing his baritone part in the song's five-part harmony, just like he did for all those years with One Direction. He weaves his way through the crowd, high-fiving everyone he passes, until he's back onstage for the big finale. 'Let's go, Liam!' cheers fellow judge Nicole Scherzinger, who — along with third judge Kelly Rowland — was clapping and singing along the whole time. When Payne returns to his chair, he looks ahead with a big smile and says, 'That was so fun.' It's a beyond-sweet moment that can offer a minor bit of comfort to Directioners that Payne definitely felt their love before his untimely death. The new clip begins with the message 'In loving memory of Liam Payne.' When the Netflix show premiered earlier this month, host AJ McLean of Backstreet Boys dedicated the series to Payne and his loved ones. 'When we came together to film Building the Band, we never imagined we'd soon be saying goodbye to our friend Liam Payne,' McLean says in the first episode. 'Liam is a guest judge in later episodes, and through his presence, we see his deep love for music and his unwavering commitment to helping others find their voice. It's through that spirit that we dedicate this series to Liam and his family.' Building the Band was one of the final projects Payne worked on before his death in October. About two months after wrapping filming in August, he suffered a fatal fall from the fourth-floor balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires. High levels of alcohol and other substances were in his system at the time of his death, toxicology reports later confirmed. With the blessing of Payne's family, Netflix moved forward with streaming Building the Band, which separates hopeful singers into closed-off pods where they then seek to assemble a musical group before ever seeing one another. The third and final batch of episodes will be available to stream starting Wednesday.
