Heartbreaking moment Lola Young breaks down in tears after leaving the stage
Messy singer Lola Young has broken down in tears after being hit with technical difficulties live onstage.
The 24-year-old was performing during her slot at the Capital Summertime Ball over the weekend when it all went wrong.
Lola was one of many huge acts performing at this year's festival at Wembley Arena in London.
Other stars included in the line-up were Mariah Carey, Benson Boone, and Tate Mcrae.
Lola's set was due to begin at 4:45 pm just after Zara Larsson giving her a 15 minute time slot for her to perform her best tracks.
As the singer began to sing her chart-topping hit Messy her earpiece had actually stopped working.
When a singer's in ear monitor (IEM) fails it can significantly impact their ability to hear themselves affecting their performance and confidence.
While she struggled on stage, Lola could be heard saying: 'Sorry guys my ears are going in and out. Can I get some new ears?'
Trying to continue without it she begged the crowd to: 'Sing along please.'
The popstar struggled to keep in time with the music and her band exclaiming: 'It's like they're doing it on purpose.'
When her set ended the star was spotted bursting into tears after hurrying offstage.
In clips uploaded to TikTok Lola can be seen visibly upset and distressed from the incident, crying into her hands as her team tried to comfort her.
Fans have rushed to support the star commenting messages of support, one user said: 'I really don't see how people can hate on someone for this? It was a sound issue and the crowd loved her still, I feel bad for her but she was one of the best acts!'
Another chimed: 'She smashed it.'
'I felt so bad for Lola Young. Her earpiece stopped working and everything so she came off crying,' commented a third.
Some fans were angry at event organiser Capital insisting it was their sound engineer who was at fault.
In a rant, one fan said: 'People don't forget Lola Young is just starting she is a young talented singer. Yesterday her ear monitor stopped working, this is not hers or her band's fault at all! This is down to the sound engineer at the Capital Summertime Ball.'
'I do feel so sorry for Lola Young and my heart is with her and I hope that she is feeling okay. Capital should feel ashamed of yourself!!' they added.
Lola started writing songs aged 11, and by 13 had competed in and won a national open mic competition.
She was a student at the famous Brit School in Croydon which counts Adele and Amy Winehouse has past pupils.
Following the success of her single Messy last year, she enjoyed sell-out UK and US tours, and also appeared at Coachella.
Lola was also nominated for Best Pop Act at this year's BRIT Awards.
Some fans may also not realise that Lola has nepo-baby roots her famous aunt is Julia Donaldson, the beloved author behind children's book The Gruffalo.

‘Last resort': Sad truth behind Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's intimate family Instagram posts
There's a heartbreaking truth behind Meghan Markle's recent influx of intimate family Instagram posts, according to a royal insider. Harry and Meghan have always been staunchly private when it comes to sharing insight into the lives of their two young children. But recently, Meghan has taken a step to welcome fans into their lives on a more intimate level, regularly sharing glimpses into their family dynamic in a way the couple had previously avoided. In recent weeks, Markle has shared numerous videos and pictures of her and Prince Harry's children, Archie and Lilibet, to the delight of fans. However, an insider has revealed that there's a sad motive behind the numerous posts, which Harry reportedly hopes capture the attention of his estranged father, King Charles III. 'Harry is completely heartbroken,' an insider close to the family told Daily Mail. 'His dad refuses to see him or the kids – not even on Zoom … It's a last resort. He's desperately hoping the King might see a picture of Archie or Lilibet and realise what he's missing.' The insider added that despite remaining firm publicly about their decision to ditch royal life and move to California, Harry has made repeated attempts to reach out to his father over the years. 'He's tried everything – calls, letters … But nothing's worked. This is his way of saying, 'Look at what you're missing.'' Meghan recently revealed during her first podcast interview that she had been grateful to be able to start sharing intimate moments with fans 'on her own terms'. 'Did you see my 'Baby Momma' dance?' she told the Aspire podcast. 'That was four years ago … I'm just grateful that now, being back on social … I can share it on my own terms.' Last month, Prince Harry launched an incendiary attack on his family when he claimed King Charles 'won't speak to me'. He lashed out in a TV interview after losing a multimillion-dollar fight in April for protection in the UK. Harry said he does not know 'how much longer' his father has left and that 'life is precious'. And he claimed losing the legal battle over his security in the UK meant it was 'impossible' for him to bring his family here safely. Despite Harry being in London for April's hearing, he didn't meet up with the King – meaning they haven't seen each other since early last year, shortly after the monarch's cancer diagnosis was revealed. 'Charles is not answering Harry's messages,' royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told US Weekly. 'At the moment, Harry does not seem to have a relationship with his father at all. It's truly sad.' Harry had been embroiled in a legal battle with the UK's Home Office, whom he had sued over its decision to remove his and Meghan's around-the-clock taxpayer-funded security provision after they quit royal duties.

Dad ‘makes' 5 month old baby apologise to passengers after flight
A dad has turned a mid-air meltdown into a moment of pure adorableness. Babies cry on planes. It's a fact of life, but this creative apology is melting hearts across the internet. The five-month-old's mum, Hannah, shared a video of her baby watching fellow passengers disembark after a long-haul flight. With her gummy grin and rosy cheeks, you'd never guess this tiny tot had caused any in-flight drama. But some of her fellow travellers might beg to differ. 'We told her she had to apologise to everyone face-to-face' But, perhaps her fellow long-haul passengers might disagree. The cheeky clip, taken after their 8-hour journey from London to Atlanta, was posted to the Instagram page The Mum Crew, where it quickly racked up more than 4 million views. Hannah captured the moment her daughter beamed at passengers passing by on the jet bridge as they waited for their pram and car seats to be returned by airline staff. 'We told her she had to apologise to everyone face-to-face for what she put them through on that flight,' the text overlay on the video read. The baby wasn't alone in stirring up mid-air mischief. Her twin sister had also joined in to bring a little double trouble to the cabin. In the post caption, Hannah added: 'She actually did surprisingly well on the flight.' 'It's been so fun to see the video go viral. We never expected such a silly moment to reach so many people so quickly,' she told Newsweek. 'She's such a little conniving little bundle of joy' Reactions to the clip were mixed. Some commenters were less than charmed. 'Fun fact... Not everyone feels the same about your kids as YOU do. I don't want to see you after the flight you antagonised me on,' one user snapped. Another scolded: 'Dude. Take a hint. They're not interested in you making yourself feel better. Move on. Leave them alone. You've done enough.' 'And not one of them cared. They just wanted to get going to where they were going,' a third added But most saw the humour, and the heart, in the moment. 'She just smiled that gummy little heart melting smile and everyone just forgave her. She's such a little conniving little bundle of joy,' one person praised. 'She looked at everyone like 'and I'll do it again, watch this,'' a second joked. A third questioned how more people weren't reacting: 'How are all those people walking past without smiling at that beautiful baby?' Sometimes, a little charm really does go a long way. Even when delivered by a five-month-old in pink footie pyjamas.
