US carries out 6 airstrikes against Houthis in northern Yemen
ISTANBUL
US warplanes launched six airstrikes Wednesday targeting Yemen's Saada governorate, said the Houthi group.
'Six American enemy airstrikes targeted the Sahlin area in Al-Salem district,' the Houthi-affiliated Al-Masirah TV channel said on X.
No information was immediately available regarding casualties or the extent of material damage.
The US has not released a statement so far on the strikes.
The Houthis have targeted ships passing through the Red and Arabian seas, the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Gulf of Aden since November 2023 in solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, where more than 51,300 people have been killed in a brutal Israeli assault since October 2023.
The group halted attacks when a ceasefire in Gaza was declared in January between Israel and the Palestinian resistance group Hamas but resumed them after Israel renewed airstrikes on the enclave last month.

Hamas, which has controlled Gaza since 2006, is reported to have built an extensive underground network across the coastal enclave, which is just 45 kilometers long and between 6 and 14 kilometers wide. The total length of the tunnels was believed to be at least 500 kilometers before the outbreak of the current war.

'Civil war' in Lebanon: Hezbollah warns Lebanese govt it will fight to keep weapon arsenal
Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem has issued a strong warning to the Lebanese government, stating that "there is no life for Lebanon" if the government chooses to confront the Iran-backed group, after the cabinet ordered the army to devise plans by the end of 2025 to disarm Hezbollah. In a series of statements, Qassem said, "Either we live together or it's peace be upon the world, and you bear the responsibility,' adding that the disarmament bid could lead Lebanon to 'civil war'. He added that Hezbollah has postponed protests against disarmament because it believes dialogue is still possible, saying the group is ready to fight to keep its weapon arsenal. Qassem also issued a direct warning about potential street demonstrations, stating that protests "may reach the American embassy in Lebanon."
