PEAC Solutions partners with Crane Payment Innovations
Asset finance provider PEAC Solutions has collaborated with Crane Payment Innovations (CPI), a Crane NXT company, to provide rental schemes for CPI's convenience services.
The partnership aims to enable customers to access CPI's vending solutions through PEAC's rental programme. These solutions include BevMax and Merchant machines, as well as COTI coffee product lines.
These solutions are equipped with fully integrated cashless readers for card processing and digital touchscreens for two-tier pricing and promotions.
The programme is classified as an operating expense, providing financial advantages over traditional capital expenditures.
CPI vice president and general manager of convenience services Sharon Peyer said: 'We are thrilled to partner with PEAC Solutions on rental programmes that help more businesses benefit from the sales and profit enhancements of our equipment and fully integrated connectivity solutions without the upfront burden.

PEAC Solutions' programme development director Bernadette Braden said: "The new rental programme with Crane Payment Innovations is a departure from traditional ways of accessing capital for vending machine operators, something necessary in today's changing economy.

With operations across North America, Europe, and the UK, PEAC offers lease and loan products to equipment manufacturers, distributors, and dealers. It specialises in finance solutions to enhance business productivity and growth.
In addition to its partnership with CPI, PEAC has recently launched a financing initiative with US-based manufacturer and distributor Exodus Global.
The initiative provides rental companies with financing options for Exodus Global's brands, including Connect Work Tools, ShearCore, RockZone Americas, and OilQuick Americas.
It supports various financing structures tailored to fleet operators' needs.

U.S. judge approves settlement allowing NCAA schools to pay athletes
A U.S. judge on Friday granted final approval to a $2.8 billion settlement with the National Collegiate Athletic Association that will allow schools for the first time to compensate student athletes for past and future commercial use of their names, images and likenesses. The settlement, approved in a ruling by U.S. District Judge Claudia Wilken in the Oakland, California, federal court, resolves long-running litigation between the NCAA and student athletes. "Despite some compromises, the settlement agreement nevertheless will result in extraordinary relief for members of the settlement classes," Wilken wrote. She said the deal will "permit levels and types of student-athlete compensation that have never been permitted in the history of college sports." The ruling marked a "historic day for college sports and the rights of athletes," the lead attorneys for the plaintiffs, Steve Berman and Jeffrey Kessler, said in a statement. In a statement, NCAA President Charlie Baker welcomed the judge's ruling. "Student-athletes will benefit from the rich opportunities they enjoy now, plus far more scholarship opportunities, landmark financial benefits and a streamlined NCAA to support them," Baker said. The NCAA denied any wrongdoing in agreeing to settle. The deal faced dozens of objections that it didn't adequately compensate athletes or was unfair in other ways. Objectors to the deal now can appeal to the San Francisco-based 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The settlement, covering hundreds of thousands of current and former students since 2016, resolved three lawsuits that claimed NCAA rules barring payments to athletes violated U.S. antitrust law. The $2.8 billion will cover past damages. The plaintiffs' lawyers previously estimated the deal would provide tens of billions of dollars to class members over the next 10 years. Diplomatic win for UK hosting US-China trade talks
Sky News understands that the Trump administration approached the UK government to ask if it would host round two of the US-China trade talks. This is a useful 'diplo-win' for the UK. The first round was held in Geneva last month. News of that happening came as a surprise. The Chinese and the Americans were in the midst of a Trump-instigated trade war. President Trump was en route to Saudi Arabia and suddenly we got word of talks in Switzerland. They went surprisingly well. US treasury secretary Scott Bessent and his Chinese counterpart He Lifeng, met face-to-face and agreed to suspend most tariffs for 90 days. But two weeks later, the Trump administration accused Beijing of breaking the agreements reached in Geneva. Beijing threw the blame back at Washington. On Wednesday, Donald Trump and Xi Jinping spoke by phone. The Chinese claimed this call was at the Americans' request. Either way, the consequence was that the talks were back on track. "I just concluded a very good phone call with President Xi of China, discussing some of the intricacies of our recently made, and agreed to, trade deal," President Trump said this week. From that call came the impetus for a second round of talks. A venue was needed. In stepped the UK at short notice. Beyond being geographically convenient, UK government sources suggest that Britain is geopolitically in the right place right now to act as this bridge and facilitator. The UK-China relationship is in the process of a "reset". Other locations, like Brussels or other EU capitals, would have been less workable. Crucially too, for the UK, this is also potentially advantageous as it seeks to get its own UK-US trade agreement, to eliminate or massively reduce tariffs, over the line. Talks on reaching the "implementation phase" have been near-continuous since the announcement last month, but having the American principals in London is a plus. Sideline talks are possible, but even the presence of the US team in the UK is helpful.
