Another veteran wide receiver could be perfect match for Commanders
Kliff Kingsbury and Christian Kirk were together for three seasons, so could a reunion be in the works?
Kirk has been a wide receiver for the Jaguars for the last three seasons (2022-24) after spending his first four NFL seasons with the Cardinals (2018-2021). Commanders' offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury was the Cardinals' head coach for three of those four seasons (2019-2021).
Word broke Wednesday that the Jaguars are going to release Kirk and his $10.5M salary. So, a justifiable question that immediately comes to mind is, "Would Kingsbury like to have Kirk as one of his top receivers in 2025?"
The next question that comes to mind is, "If the Jaguars don't think Kirk is worth the $10.5M they were to pay him, then how much will Adam Peters be willing to offer Kirk, if indeed Kingsbury wants Kirk?
Kirk's numbers were down a bit last season; however, that is perfectly understandable, seeing as Kirk broke his collarbone in Week 8, played only eight games, and caught only 27 passes.
Kingsbury raved about Kirk as "one of my favorite players I've ever been around" during his three years leading the Cardinals. Various reports have stated that keeping Kirk on the roster in 2025 would cost Jacksonville $16.2 million.
Where does this leave WR Dyami Brown in the Commanders' plans for 2025? On the day Commanders players were cleaning out their lockers, Commanders fans may recall that the former North Carolina Tar Heel and 2021 third-round draft choice was asked directly if he wanted to be a Commander next season.
To which Brown did not say something like, "Well, of course I would" or something like, "Yes, I really would." No, Brown responded, "It wouldn't be a problem staying." Not exactly a reassuring response from Brown that he even wants to return. Perhaps Brown felt he was underutilized in the Washington offense.
We don't know, but we are certain that Adam Peters and Dan Quinn will only want players who really want to be Commanders.

Antonio Brown wanted for attempted murder: Everything we know so far
Antonio Brown -- the controversial wide receiver who last played in the NFL in the 2021 season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before running off the field -- is wanted for alleged attempted murder. This all stems from an incident earlier this year at a boxing event in May. And Brown has addressed it on social media, just not recently. If you're just hearing about this story and you're wondering what the heck is going on with the wideout and these allegations, we'll break it all down for you. And, as always, this is a developing story, so we'll update this when we know a lot more: This comes from a report in the Washington Post. The charge? Attempted murder with a firearm. This was back in mid-May at a celebrity boxing match in Miami. From USA TODAY Sports: Miami Police Department spokesperson Kiara Delva told the USA TODAY Sports Network that Miami Police received an alert from ShotSpotter — a gunshot detection system — at approximately 3 a.m. ET Saturday. They arrived at the location the system produced and discovered an event, hosted by popular streamer Adin Ross, was being held there. ... Video posted to social media showed Brown involved in a fight with several people. The 36-year-old could be seen jogging as he exited a garage. Gunshots can be heard off-camera near the end of the footage. Regarding the boxing event that happened last night. I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me. Contrary to some video circulating, Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED. He also got on a live stream to talk about it, saying he didn't know what happened. More from USA TODAY Sports: The warrant, the Post reports, details that officers responded to gunshots in the area. An off-duty officer at the venue who was working security stated that he observed Brown in an altercation after being told about the gunshots. Patrons in the parking lot outside the venue identified Brown as the shooter to officers, according to the warrant, but Brown did not have a weapon when officers patted him down. Detectives later obtained video that appeared to show Brown getting in a physical altercation with another man and later appearing to take a security officer's gun and running at the man. Not as far as we can tell. This article originally appeared on For The Win: Antonio Brown wanted for attempted murder: Everything we know so far

NFL Insider Speaks on Terry McLaurin's Holdout
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. As mandatory minicamps continue, one of the biggest stories across the NFL is playing holding out for business reasons. Among the teams currently at odds with one of their key players is the Washington Commanders. This season, wide receiver Terry McLaurin finds himself in the final year of his contract. Instead of hitting the open market, he is in search of a new deal that will keep him in Washington for the foreseeable future. However, the two sides have been able to agree on terms. Because of this, McLaurin has continued to be away from the Commanders until he and the front office work things out from the business side of things. On Thursday, ESPN's senior NFL insider Adam Schefter was a guest on "The Pat McAfee Show" to discuss topics across the league. He weighed in on numerous players holding out for new contracts, including McLaurin. However, he also brought up that the star receiver is displeased with how negotiations have gone thus far. "I think the team feels like it's going to get something done with Terry McLaurin," Schefter said. "I think Terry McLaurin clearly is frustrated with where talks are at because not only did he not show up for the mandatory minicamp, but he hasn't participated in any of the team's offseason activities. He has been a no-show for that." "I think the Commanders feel like they're gonna get a deal done with Terry McLaurin.. I know that Terry McLaurin is very frustrated with where talks are at.. He hasn't participated in any of the offseason activities" ~ @AdamSchefter #PMSLive — Pat McAfee (@PatMcAfeeShow) June 12, 2025 One thing the Commanders have going for them is that they've been in this situation before. McLaurin pulled a similar stunt back in the summer of 2022 for similar reasons. The final result was he and the Commanders agreed to terms on a three-year deal worth just over $68 million. Since being drafted by the Commanders back in 2019, McLaurin has become a foundational piece for the franchise. He's been one of the more consistent wideouts in the NFL, racking up at least 1,000 yards in each of the last five seasons. McLaurin also built an instant connection with new quarterback Jayden Daniels, catching a career-high 13 touchdowns in 2024. Fresh off appearing in the NFC Championship game, the Commanders will look to remain in the title hunt in 2025. They've committed to winning now, bringing in upgrades like Deebo Samuel in the offseason. However, if Washington is going to operate at its best, they'll need a locked in McLaurin. Still with lots of time before the regular season gets underway, the Commanders aren't in a rush to agree on a new deal with McLaurin. That said, it's a situation they'll certainly want to rectify sooner rather than later.

Are teams really interested in trading for star Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown?
Are teams really interested in trading for star Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown? Are teams really interested in trading for star Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown? The Georgia native is one of the top 20 or so players in the NBA, so there should be no reason that they would not want to have him on their roster, save for the cap concerns created by the second apron of the NBA's collective bargaining agreement (CBA). But they also have to think there is at least a chance they might be able to pry him away from the Celtics to let their interest in Brown slip to the league's news breakers, and we have recently heard from ESPN's Shams Charania that there is indeed interest in trading for the Cal alum. The folks behind the "WEEI Boston's Sports Original" YouTube channel put together a clip from their "WEEI Afternoons" show to talk it over recently. Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what they had to say.
